My mother is living in St Joseph's Manor. It's horrible, it was one of the worst places in Detroit. They don't have many amenities although they have cable. And they only have two staff people because they've lost everybody from COVID, so there are only two nurses on staff for about 500 people. It's pretty bad, and the food is also pretty bad. They don't have a chef, they've got a guy cooking, and people would come in to cook since the staff is really short. For the last two years, they don't allow new patients anymore. Since COVID, you can't leave the facility, they made all of the patients stay in the facility. If I go get my mom she could leave, but they can't leave on their own and they're locked in 24-7.

Mom was in St. Joseph Manor, and they were not able to handle her properly in this facility. I guesst they get skilled nurses who are able to handle people with dementia. They have a lot of activities, but the rooms are outdated.

I like the fact that everyone has their own room at St. Joseph Manor. They specialized in memory care, so it’s not just for those who need independent living. The director there is really kind, the rooms were very clean, and the building is a very old building, but they have a very good foundation. The rooms are nice; even the smallest rooms gives ample room for someone. They don’t have to share rooms with anyone as a lot of the other facilities that I visited. They are more affordable with the majority of the facilities I have resisted. They also work in conjunction with E Triple A; they help with some of the cost, and that’s another plus. The dining room looked good, and the place is very secure. Affordability, nice rooms, and the staff really impressed me.
St Josephs Manor Assisted Living is tucked away in a cozy, quiet area in Detroit, just a short walk from a lively local area where residents regularly enjoy outings. The facility offers a wide variety of activities in-house like bingo, daily exercise and crafts. Residents who prefer privacy are able to enjoy spacious single rooms with access to around-the-clock care. The facility specializes in memory care for those who require it. Residents highly praise the skilled, friendly staff who prioritize the well-being and safety of the residents. St Josephs also provides excellent three-meal dining options.
