I visited this facility

The concierge at Echelon of Tucson was not very friendly, did not greet us properly, and was just sitting on his phone. The lady who gave us the tour though (her name was Lisa), did wonderful. My whole experience was fine though. Our guide was very, very good. Personally speaking, I think it could be a little cleaner. It was a little dirty. The room they showed us hadn't been cleaned yet. Somebody had moved out, and apparently they didn't have time to clean it. I can't really feel good about a dirty place. The laundry room wasn't clean either. We walked in the door and the first person we met was the concierge. On a scale from 1 to 10, he was a 0. I did not feel warmly welcomed. Lisa, on the other hand, was very informative. She has good customer service, and on a scale from 1 to 10, it was a 9 1/2. The cleanliness of the place and the concierge made me not even consider the place. They showed us the movie theater, and their huge dining room was beautiful. I think the apartment size was really nice, but the apartment was not clean. For them to schedule the tour and for a possible tenant to go in there, it should have been cleaned. The size of the room was perfect though. The pool was clean. The establishment (other than the laundry room and the room they showed) looked good. Everything else like the dining room, the entryway, the outside, was fine. The residents were very happy there. We went around lunchtime. Everybody was eating, and they looked like they were enjoying their time there. They have somebody play piano once in a while. They have entertainment too, like they have brought in mariachis for Cinco de Mayo. They also have movies every evening. Their activities were pretty good for my 94-year-old uncle.

I visited this facility

I visited the Echelon of Tucson last week. I certainly like the people. They don't have too many activities going on right now because of the pandemic. I saw very few residents pass by, but everyone was very, very friendly. The apartments were nice. Their piano was not tuned, and the harp was not tuned. I'm a musician so that's important to me, though maybe it's not to anyone else. The facility was impeccable; it was lovely. They have some very beautiful Native American relics on display. The pool area was nice.

I think the management team at Echelon of Tucson is first rate. Lisa is great. The chef there goes above and beyond trying to make sure that if you have any kind of food allergies or food sensitivities, he's right there with you changing menus up. He even gives his home number so if something goes wrong in the kitchen or your order does not come in when it's supposed to, he actually makes the phone call to the kitchen. I have never seen a more responsible group in my life. In terms of facility, the facilities are not new or anything, but they're nice. They have a beautiful dining room. They have a coordinator who tries really hard to get people to still do things, even during the lockdown. Everything I'm going to say about the Echelon is nice. If I'm going to have any negative thing about them, it's going to be that the elevator is really noisy, but that's it. In my personal opinion, it's the personalities and management responsiveness that, I think, are the most important things, and their staff is excellent. Because of COVID, they have to literally cart around the food, so if you're not in the first building, your food is probably not warm. I do know though, because I've been there before when there was no COVID, that the food is excellent in the dining room. Because of COVID, however, the food right now is sometimes cold and not as exciting as when you're able to sit in the dining room and eat.

I am a resident of Echelon of Tucson. It's convenient, very clean, kept up very well, and all the landscape is very manicured. Currently, there aren't many activities because of the pandemic, but the swimming pool is available and there is a barber shop. The staff is very friendly and personable, but they could do better in updating the residents on information.

Moving to The Echelon in 2018 was the best decision I ever made. The apartment size is perfect for one person and the cost is within my budget. There are not enough accolades in the English language to describe how wonderful our staff is! They have served and cared for us through this pandemic and our community continues to be free of the virus. I feel safe and happy here.

My friend moved into Echelon a month ago and is really enjoying living there. Of course, he wanted to stay in his own home, but when he saw it he liked it, and for me I know he is safer living there. The staff are very caring, going out of their way to help him -- everyone from the Director to the food servers, especially Dianna.

We were able to see the independent living of Echelon of Tucson, and it seemed like a very nice community. It would be perfect for my mother. The interior was very nice and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly, and we were offered food, but we didn't have time. The dining area was very clean.

Moving to Echelon of Tucson from San Diego was the best move we could have made. My husband, disabled Navy Chief retired, and I absolutely love living here! We couldn't have found a better all inclusive, active lifestyle, senior housing community if we tried - especially at such complimentary rates in such a spacious, ADA compliant, well fitted and comfortable apartment. We enjoy water aerobics, Friday outings, afternoon movies in the onsite theater, baking class, Thursday night socials, bookclub, and much much more. Plus the dining experiences are fabulously fulfilling. We have formed many wonderful friendships over a hearty meal. A truly great living experience all the way around.

The Echelon of Tucson is excellent. They have a wonderful director, her name is Lizzie, and she was very cordial and professional. I give kudos to her for going out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and welcome. We ate there and the food was wonderful. They have a salad bar and a soup bar, and you can order what you want on the menu or ask for something else. It's a great independent living place, and they have a pool and exercise classes, but there's no exercise director and no real gym. The apartments were great, they're a good size, bright, and some of them look out into the courtyard where the pool is, so it's very pleasant. They have everything in them except your own washer and dryer, which is just outside the door shared with the community.

I've lived in The Echelon before and I enjoyed the atmosphere, the people, and I still have friends there. I'm looking forward to going back to live there. I liked that it's a small community, you know everybody, I liked their activities, and I liked their management. The food is good, and if you don't like it, you can easily tell them about it.

The grounds seemed nice at the Manor, and the food was better than average. Unfortunately, I didn't like that part of town. The rooms were very nice. There's a swimming pool and ample opportunities to participate in various activities, like games and cards.

I am pretty happy at Echelon. The facility is nice and well taken care of. I have met some friends here, and I guess I’m doing OK. The dining room is very clean. They have things like bingo and domino.

I did not like Manor. I didn’t like the food and didn’t meet a soul there other than the staff I had to meet. They were nice enough to come and get me, take me down there, and bring me home. There’s a Walmart, but it’s pretty far, and a restaurant right beside it. I wasn’t impressed with the apartment and the location.

Last April dad moved to Manor at Midvale. We picked this because it was the most affordable, but it's a beautiful place. Everything was fabulous, and I would recommend this to anybody. They do different activities like games, exercise, movie nights, and events. It has all been wonderful.

Mom and dad are a little upset about having to move out of their house, but everybody at Manor at Midvale has been trying to bend over backwards to be helpful and friendly. It is a great place, nice looking, well kept, clean, the meals are good, and the dining room is nice. I would recommend it to someone because of the facilities, the activities that they offer, and the overall staff courtesy and staff service. They've been really friendly, courteous, and as helpful as possible, they've offered suggestions on things, and they've tried to make the transition as smooth as possible for my parents.

We are in Manor at Midvale, and we like it. It is very nice here. The staff is really nice and friendly. They take care of you. The room is nice and of good size. The food is really good. The dining area is good and clean. The people at the food service are very nice. We picked Manor at Midvale because when we came here, there was somebody here to meet us right away. They gave us a tour. We looked around and talked to some people, and we decided that this is where we want to go. They have bingo, trivia, and a lot of different games. There is a lot to do here.

The visit at The Manor at Midvale was wonderful. The environment was wonderful; it had a balcony or a patio on every unit except a few. It was reasonable for a two bedroom apartment. The dining room was beautiful; I had lunch there, and the food was pretty good.

Provider Response

Thank you for your kind review, it is music to our ears. We strive to provide residents and their families’ complete satisfaction and are pleased to hear you have experienced just that. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to further exceed your expectations.

My mom has only been at The Manor for about a month or two. The prices are way up there; she could barely afford it. The residents there seem to like it. The people work with the people instead of demanding so and so. They have some kind of a deal where they have either a 1-meal a day or a 3-meal a day in which the difference is about $300 a month. They have a billiard table and an activity room. They do puzzles, plus they also have field trips. I’m over there most days trying to keep my mom to be functional over there. I don’t have any problems with anybody, and they seem to solve problems. The apartment seemed to be very nice; it’s one of the bigger of the single rooms. They got a special deal on it for the same cost of the small one.

I visited Manor at Midvale and the food was quite good. The apartments were nice, better designed, and the rooms were nice, well-kept, and well-maintained. The whole facility was a very nice facility, completely enclosed, and it had garden areas and they even encouraged the tenants to go out and do the gardening. They had activities going on, and they had a nice theater room. I would recommend the place mainly because it’s a very nice place at a minimal cost.

My mom was at The Manor at Midvale, and they did a lot of renovation while we were there. My mom loved the apartments because they were large. She was in a two-bedroom apartment. The price was reasonable, but she hated the food. They have just about any activities that you can think of, but my mother did not take advantage of any of those services. The manager constantly rotates, and that is a very annoying part because, when people find managers they like, the next thing they know, they're gone.
