I am a friend or relative of a resident
Fellowship Village CCRC has assisted living and an excellent rehab facility. It’s a beautiful facility. They have a very good nursing staff and aides. It was a good experience. I just couldn’t get my dad in there because there was no availability since they have a lot of permanent patients there. They have independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, sub-acute rehab, and outpatient rehab. My father was in the sub-acute rehab portion of it.

Fellowship Village is beautiful. They have everything from independent living to assisted living, health care, dementia care, and housing if you need it. Their food is wonderful, like everything else -- very broad menu, lots of options, and always fresh. The staff is fabulous and very good. There’s a pool and game room, and they take people on trips. They have concerts, programs, and courses residents can take, too.

We visited Fellowship Village. The people seemed older there. It was an older retirement community; it has been there for a long time, so the people who moved in did so at a younger age, and now they're mostly older. That wasn't as attractive to us as the ones that are being built right now where the people seemed to be younger. They're still old people, but they're more active than in Fellowship Village. However, the staff was very nice. They have some separate cottages, and that was a nice feature, but it seemed like that might be too expensive for us. The whole thing was a little high for us.

Age Comfortably and Gracefully in Your Own Home
What do a 92-year-old retired school teacher, a 74-year-old retired Bell Labs mathematician and his wife, and an 81-year-old recreational pilot all have in common? They are all part of a growing culture change amongst seniors to “age in place,” in their own home, instead of in a continuing care retirement community or assisted living facility.. All four are enrolled as members of the Fellowship Senior Living at Home program— Central/Northern New Jersey’s first Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) “without walls.” Although the Fellowship Senior Living at Home model was launched in September 2011, the “At Home” model has been around for over 20 years, with 14 successful programs currently operating throughout the U.S. and more than 10 under development.
The Fellowship Senior Living at Home program is geared to active and independent seniors who want to put a plan in place for their future long- term care needs. “The focus of the program is on the highest quality care as well as the preservation of assets and legacy,” says Joe Paccione, Vice President of Home Community Based Services. With skyrocketing rates for long term care, the Fellowship Senior Living at Home program provides financial protection by offering services at a fraction of what they would otherwise cost. It is an alternative or supplement to long-term care insurance and, unlike most policies, has no elimination periods, no maximum daily benefits or policy limits, and no claim or reimbursement forms to fill out. “Whether you have a minor setback or a more complicated illness, services begin as soon as you need them and can be provided on a temporary or permanent basis,” says Paccione. There are a variety of Plan options that all provide services for a lifetime with the full support, guidance, and advocacy of a designated Personal Care Coordinator assigned to each member.
The Fellowship Senior Living at Home program provides comprehensive continuum care services, such as housekeepers, companions, certified home health aides, live-in assistance, assisted living, and skilled nursing levels of care for members experiencing deficiencies in their activities of daily living. Ancillary services such as an emergency response system, home safety inspection, transportation, social and wellness programs, adult day care, and concierge services are also included at no additional cost.
Though tailored to seniors, the Fellowship Senior Living at Home program is valued by their adult children and families. “While most adult children want to honor and take care of their parents or grandparents, most are busy with their own family and career obligations. Even if time is not a factor, the process can be emotionally draining. The Fellowship Senior Living at Home program removes that burden and provides peace of mind not only to our members but to the ones they love.” says Paccione.
