This facility is very clean and has a huge park-like garden; there are horses across the dirt road and there is a very serene fountain in the semi enclosed porch. The house is spacious and open and the rooms elegantly and comfortably/homely furnished, but the residents are all so medicated and do not carry on conversations, they are all more advanced in Alzheimer's. My Dad didn't have anyone to talk to exept the staff person and his clothes were always mixed up with someone elses. I never saw him wear his own clothes. The owner seems to prefer giving even people with mild Alzheimer's, like my Dad, medication without asking permission from family just so the one person on duty can redirect residents better. Also, when I moved my Dad to a more suitable place after being given notice because I did not want my Dad on medication and the owner did not like that and called it 'interfering', my Dad's winter clothes were not packed and sent with him, even though I made sure to write his name on every item with permanent marker. After calling one day the owner insisted that his winter clothes were packed up and sent with my Dad. They were not and after sending e-mails twice about the issue, I still have no answer. The owner is not forthcoming at all about updates on the the welfare of residents and only seems to call when there is an issue she deems a problem. That was always the problem in all the time my Dad was there. Please also ote that there are no activities whatsoever. I'm also not convinced that residents are served enough food at meals and snacks are not available until dished out by the staff person.

I visited this facility
I placed my Alzheimer's/dementia husband there. It is a spacious, formerly residential home with an acre of (fenced-in) land right in the beautiful Sonoran Desert. The place is bright, very clean, the food is great, and the owner is very caring and loving with her residents. In addition, it is less pricy than other group care homes I checked out. Highly recommended (can take up to 10).
