Reviews of St. Clare Terrace

I am a friend or relative of resident
Both of my parents moved to St Clare Terrace when my Dad needed more assistance. We all love the staff there. My Dad passed away last August. My Mom and Dad were married for 65 years. It has been so much better for my Mom to be there with her friends than at home. We kept my Dad at home there with Home Hospice. My Mom has health problems and the staff are very good and very responsive to her needs. Paula has organized so many activities there. Although my Mom loves playing Bingo there (she's lucky, wins alot!!) it is far from the only activity. No matter what we've asked of the staff they have always been helpful, competent and very pleasant. We are very happy with the care she receives and she loves it there!

I visited this facility
Unfriendly staff, they do not help when you need help, and their meals are bad! They put a certain time for meal time and if you do not go down to eat, you don't eat at all!
They dropped my mother there. They have no training with their staff and there's frequent turnover yet none of them are well-trained. They're all unfriendly. They need to improve everything! My mom is not happy at all. There's no atmosphere and when you go down into the basement that's their dining area. They play bingo once a week and no other activities, no transportation, no nothing.

St Claire Terrace is a very nice assisted living center on the south side of Milwaukee. It was a former convent, which had a chapel. The lady that I knew living there found the chapel a very important part of the community. The apartment was one bedroom with bath and a small kitchenette for the resident to prepare coffee or an egg for breakfast if they wished. The aides were skilled and pleasant
Although, Marilyn, would frequently complain because the evening meal was generally soup and sandwiches the main meal at noon pleased her completely.
The facility was very family orientated and had several activities thru the year that included family, such as a summer picnic, a Christmas program, and occasional outing to a restaurant which also invited the family. The picnic and Christmas program was pot luck to include the family but the main course was provided by the facility.
Marilyn eventually fell and broke her hip and died within a few weeks of the accident. The facility was very empathic and helpful. They even had a memorial mass for her which was lovely.
