Paradise Village Memory Care looks and feels like assisted living. It was very open, bright, and roomy. They have different locations for people to use. They had a theater room, a chapel, an activity room, two dining rooms, and a garden-like, little courtyard in the middle that people could go out on. They had two floors. They had like an old-timey car in there, too. The staff was friendly and made conversation. They look like apartments. They did not have kitchenettes in the memory care. It was lunchtime when I went, so residents were eating. They have a dining room on each floor, but they weren't as open as in assisted living. They're a little more compact, and some residents were getting support with their eating. The facility looked well-kept, very clean, bright, and friendly.

Paradise Village was very nice. Everything was clean and organized. Looked like everything was in its place and they did a nice job of trying to make sure that the place looked nice and that it wasn't run down or anything. The person who gave the tour was personable and also nice. She would ask my mother-in-law a little bit about herself and try to get to know her a little bit. So, when we were going on the tour, she was able to point some things out and she shared excitement about the community and living there and that was nice to see. It didn't seem like she was doing it just because it was her job. She seemed to enjoy showing and took a lot of pride in where she worked. She was great. There were a lot of different places to go, so there were a lot of different options. It was nice and very well-kept.

We have moved into Paradise Village. It's fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place if they're 55 plus, or for a family member. Their staff is fantastic. They are considerate, caring, and helpful. There are so many different things to do. The people who live here are friendly, and there's lots of smiling going on. The only way you can be bored here is if you choose to be. They have a fabulous gym, a beautiful swimming pool, and all kinds of activities for all levels of physical activity. I'm just thrilled that we found this place, it's absolutely perfect. We visited a number of places, and hands down, this was absolutely the best.

I toured Paradise Village. Their activities will be good for my mom because instead of lying in bed all day, she'll get to interact with people. In independent living, people are all up and doing things. I also like their memory care, everything was brand-new and they had lots of fun stuff for them like movies, the piano, and a lot of options. It was a nice community. They have a place to see old cars they had a garden center and a meditation room with everything. People with memory loss can relate to certain things in there, like hobbies. They had a living room, they had 2 bedrooms and the people could use the bedroom so it was good. For memory care, they had furnished apartments, but for independent living, you bring your own furniture and stuff like your own bedroom things, and pictures. So you're making it your own house to make it familiar. They supply the appliances, so you have your own bedroom and you bring everything to your bedroom, then they had a shared living room and kitchen with a refrigerator. But they also had an eating room where you can eat, so that's nice. I thought the place was good and I liked it. The person who took me around was good and very knowledgeable.

Paradise Village had very nice staff, and there were a lot of activities at the swimming pool. They had a separate art room, a library, a hairdresser, and a doctor in-house. They had everything. You don't ever have to leave the building. It has beautiful grounds, and the rooms were good. The dining room was big and nice, too. Everything was great. It's just very large, so there's a lot of walking.

I'm currently in Paradise Village. It's wonderful. I've been here for three weeks now. I like it very much. It is a nice facility, and it's well kept. They have a wonderful dining room and lots of activities. They take different trips to different stores, and they go shopping. They have movies. They have a workout place, and they have a pool. They have all kinds of things. They have games and church services. There are individual buildings for different types. They have independent living and assisted living. There's just a lot of different things available, but it all interconnects with the main building, which is where they have the restaurant, the workout room, the swimming pools, and a bank. They've got everything. The staff are very kind and very helpful. Value for money is excellent.

I did a tour of Paradise Village. Their staff, Caroline, is very good. She has an excellent attitude, is very accommodating, and is very patient. She accompanied me on a tour inside of their facility. We toured the restaurant and amenities that they have, like where the patients stay and where they eat. It's very good, they welcome you with a smile; everybody did, including their staff and the front desk of the assisted living. The director and the receptionist were very good. It was excellent service, and they give me a big smile. They put their sign for welcoming me, even though I'm just touring the place. It's one of the places I would consider if I'll be placed in assisted living. They offered food, but I declined. Caroline offered me a cup of coffee and it was good. She just discussed activities with me. They have a library and reading facilities. Even though we didn't tour it because, it's on another floor, it's good that we learned that there is a library. If we decide to go to such facilities, it's nice to know that that they have those kinds of facilities, libraries, and places where you can stay in. They also have an outside place where you could get the sun. It's a very nice place.

We toured Paradise Village to see their assisted living but they showed us the entire complex too. It has the best quality, of all the ones that we saw in the area. The community was well thought out and has great customer service. The person who showed me the property was excellent. You feel safe in having your in-laws, or someone you care about there. They had several precautions against COVID like during meals, they cut back on interactions. They were limiting things whenever there was a fear of an outbreak. They immediately instituted precautions to keep the people safe and also limit visitors so that it doesn't create any problems. They have great protocols for COVID.

We went to Paradise Village. It was fabulous. I was very impressed. I would move there if I was a little bit older. It was really, really nice. My friend definitely should have gone there. It was wonderful. It was just so unique and so clean. They had beautiful murals on the wall. Their parking garage was nice, and they have a dog park. The people were super nice. We spoke with the chaplain and the tour guide. The rooms were really nice as well. Everything looked perfect. We saw all their amenities. They have a beautiful pool, workout room, and an area where they get together and play games. They had a library. Overall, it was just fabulous. It was like a resort.

We found the overall experience at Paradise Village to be impressive. Carolyn did a great job with the tour and it made our decision so much easier when our mother’s needs increased to have her reside there. The staff, caregivers and programs are first class and were reasonable priced. We now have two sets of parents there in different care levels, Paradise Village was at the top list of our choices.

Last Tuesday, I went to see Paradise Village. The tour was very nice and very informative but I wasn't too crazy about the facility. It's a beautiful facility but it's too much like a hotel and not an apartment. I saw both assisted and independent living. The tour guide was okay, just new to her job. She was professional though. I didn't see a whole lot of the staff, as far as that goes, but everybody was very friendly. It's a beautiful facility with a putting green, indoor swimming pool, and a nice gym area. The facility is great.

I liked the fact that Paradise Village is very clean, I liked the fact that the people do not seem unhappy, that they're there and doing stuff. Everybody seemed to like their food, and there were sufficient activities so you don't get bored to death. So overall, it had a great living vibe, so it was a good trip. My cousin liked the outside gardens and stuff. He was a horticulturist, so he likes going outside and looking at plants, and they had garden areas which he really liked. So I think that was the deciding factor right there. I liked the community the best. Everybody was friendly, everybody knew what they were doing, and everybody seemed to be doing their jobs very well. The food was as good as almost any restaurant that I go to all the time. I had a Reuben sandwich with potato salad; both were excellent. I thought the facility was outstanding. Some of their facilities are closed right now because of COVID.

Our experience with Paradise Village was very good. A young lady named Rhonda gave us the tour. She showed us around everything, and we had lunch there (which was very good). Rhonda was super. We really liked the place. Everything looked good. I didn't notice anything that was displeasing. Coming into the entrance, there's a nice lobby. It's very open and airy. The atrium there was beautiful. They seemed to have everything. It seemed to be a really nice community. There's a pool (which looked wonderful), a putting green, pickleball, an exercise room, and a weight room. They have a theater and a chapel. We had lunch in the restaurant, and it was good. I just had a light lunch of fish and chips and sweet potato fries. There was nobody in the weight room when I went. They haven't started coming back inside the exercise room yet. They were doing exercises outside. It's a large community, and they have gardens, walking trails, and a park in the back. Everything was just really, really nice. My husband is a veteran, and the staff showed us a special wall where they have really nice framed photographs of all the veterans who live in the community. He was really impressed with that. The only staff I interacted with was Rhonda and the front desk. They were very friendly and very welcoming. I didn't see anything wrong with the facility. We looked at a guest room, which was just like a regular hotel room with just a bathroom. The apartment that we looked at was very spacious. We were looking at independent living, but we can just have help when we need it. The lunch wasn't perfect, but it was good. The fish was done well and the fries were done well. Then we had dessert. We got to choose what we wanted to eat. It's not like they just give you one thing. They seemed to have everything that you would want. I didn't see any activities going on. The only thing that I saw going on was in the crafts room. There were some ladies making beads, and they seemed to be enjoying themselves. They said they were making jewelry.

We visited all, but the memory of Paradise Village. It's a very nice location. The buildings are immaculate. The outdoor space is huge. It really feels like an outdoor space. They're in the middle of the old Seventh Day Adventist property there behind the Paradise Hospital, and it's a nice piece of land that they sit on. They have done very well. They have a very large community center with a full gymnasium, not just a hallway of a gymnasium. It's probably on top of my mom's list. An amazing thing is that it is the biggest and nicest facility, and it's the second least expensive of all the facilities we visited.

I toured Paradise Village, and it was really pretty. I would say the amenities were good. The only thing (and it was not even anything against them) was it was just a little bit further for me to travel to see my father-in-law. It had so many really nice features. They showed us a studio and a 1-bedroom. I would say they were spacious and both were really, really nice. They have a pool, a little golf course (which was nice), a pharmacy, a credit union, and a movie room. It was really great. The staff were very nice, pleasant. They looked like they were doing a really good job. I liked that it was gated.

I'm very impressed with Paradise Village. Rhonda was the one who helped me, and she showed me everything. I was very impressed with her demeanor. She was very nice and very caring. She went above and beyond as far as I'm concerned. She even sent me a nice card inviting me to keep them in mind, and I have them in mind. I looked at the whole facility and she gave me a rundown of everything. The facilities were quite nice and quite numerous. The atrium was great and regal-looking. You walk in there and you feel like you're in the Taj Mahal because it's such a beautiful place. It was the first day that they had reopened their movie room. That was the first time since last year that they opened up the movies for people to go and enjoy themselves. The staff took me for a nice tour and I appreciate that. Everything was outstanding, I was very impressed by the whole place.

We didn't get to see the outside. I understand we missed the best part, but we were in a hurry because we had somewhere else to go, and so it wasn't a full, but a pretty good, tour. I think we saw maybe three fourths but we didn't see the whole things, the outside, the walkways, and I think they have a pond or something. I say we should be fair to them, go back and take a look at it, that part of the outside. It was beautiful, just the walk-in and the entry was just fantastic, I mean it's just wow, it was a wow entry. The people that took us around, they knew all about what they were supposed to know. I mean, they're full of information. My husband was doing one of the activities, he was giving a talk, they had invited him to come and speak, so that was going on, there was like a game or something upstairs in another area, so people could go to that too. So it's two activities we knew about. The people there, they seemed to be having a really good time upstairs.

Paradise Village was awesome. If my mother-in-law decided to ever move here to San Diego, we would choose them. We toured independent and assisted, and it was all-in-one. She didn't have to walk very far to go for dining. It was all in one building with a small hallway. It was all-inclusive, and it wasn't as expensive as some. It was posh, and it was just wonderful. The rooms had a lot of space. They had a washer and dryer and a full kitchen. The closets and everything were great. The layout of the apartment was good. If we didn't own our own home and we wanted to go in there because we're over 60, we would do it ourselves. The staff was awesome. We went in to the dining area during COVID and we said hello to the chefs, and they were waving and having a fun time. The camaraderie among their team was awesome. We were really lucky that we even got a personal tour because they weren't doing them at the time, but we were very interested and we were allowed to go in as long as we took precautions, and they were great. This was the best place. I can't say enough about this that I love it myself.

The workers that we ran into at Paradise Village were all very nice. The place is really clean, bright, and cheerful. The staff member who assisted us during the tour took us through everything and we saw everything. The people we ran into were awesome, and Rhonda, the one who runs the community, is phenomenal. They have activities, a woodshop, a swimming pool, rec room, fitness room, and craft room. They also have walking paths that are marked every quarter mile or half mile; it's really nice.

The atmosphere was very good, and it seemed like everybody was enjoying themselves, and was happy. It looked like it was really nice. We had lunch there and the food was good. The dining area was large, well set up, the staff was professional, there was a wide choice of items on the menu, and it met our dietary requirements. There were a lot of swimming and fitness classes.

My husband was at Parkview at Paradise Village. I had problems with them. I told them when he went in that he was a fall risk and yet, he fell numerous times. They didn't even have alarms on the bed to tell them when a person got up. I was going to move my husband because he got his vertebra fractured. However, their chaplain and the hospice they deal with said, 'Oh no, don't move him. We will take better care of him.' However, one week later, they called me back in and said, 'We want you to move him, we can't take care of him.' By that time, I had lost the home that I wanted him in and I couldn't get him in anymore because the bed was given up. Their rooms and the dining room were OK. However, they only had an alarm on the wall for the residents to pull. For my husband, when he was in bed at night, he would wrap the cord around his thumb so he wouldn't lose it because he couldn't see. At night, they only had two people to cover the whole floor, which I thought was ridiculous. I was really unhappy with them. A couple of the nurses were OK, but the head nurse and people that run it, I wasn't happy with them. They were good at telling you, 'Yeah, we'll do this,' and yet they didn't. I was very upset with them.

We moved into Paradise Village, it's absolutely wonderful, and we love it here. They have plenty of things to do, places to go, and it's a wonderful atmosphere. The food is actually restaurant style, not in a line, and I can't say enough good about it, the staff is hard working and people-friendly, and if you meet one in the hallway, they always smile and say hello. However, they usually take 2 or 3 days to respond to a service call if it's not critical, that's the worst thing I heard here. They have a list every day of about 12 to 14 activities, from church, shopping centers, theaters, and just about anything, they do it. They have a wonderful exercise room with a tremendous planned classes, and they have a huge semi-olympic pool, and a very large spa. I have a 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment with a full kitchen, it's not cheap, but it's not in the expensive side either. It's a 7th-day Adventist community, they do not have shellfish, alcohol, and pork, but they have home made food to die for.

Paradise Village was good. It was more like individual apartments, and they have a communal kitchen. The rooms were clean. They're really friendly and the complimentary lunch was fine. They have a library, a media center to watch movies, a gym with little treadmills, a courtyard, and patio area, so they have indoor and outdoor amenities. The staff was very cordial and courteous. The place was very well-done. It's a hotel that has been converted into assisted living.

My father-in-law has been in Paradise Village for four months now. My overall impression of it is not very good. The patio is good, but the furniture is old. The dining room is not very clean. The smell is not good. They need more assistance in cleaning the place. The nurses are good, but for their services, it is too expensive. Also, at the time I visited, I didn't see any activities.

Paradise Village gave us a lovely dinner. It was very well done. However, this was too large for me. It was overpowering. They showed me an apartment, which I didn't like. It was too bad because I met very nice people there. They had thousands, it seemed, of programs, but what I wanted was not there. They did have a swimming pool, but I didn't like their pool either because it was inside. Paradise Village was very depressing. They used dark colors, which was very unappealing to me. I don't like that. The reception area was overbearing. It was the feeling I got when I walked in there, it was this massive feeling and dark colors. There was no appeal to me at all. It wasn't the people's fault though because they were very friendly, and they gave me a beautiful presentation.

I went to Paradise Village. It was absolutely gorgeous and lovely, but it was not what I needed. I thought it was great for people who were mobile and looking for a place to retire but not for any kind of care. It was set up like an apartment building with lovely rooms. However, they didn't have a nurse's station nor monitors in the room. They had amazing activities every day and a wonderful cafeteria.

Paradise Village has tons of amenities like a library, an indoor pool, a gym, a snack room, and a couple of open community rooms. There is an activities director who is very much engaged. There is also a bus that takes the residents to shopping centers, supermarkets, and outings. It has a putting green, too. There were 2 restaurants -- one in the independent living side and one in the assisted living side.

My father lives in Paradise Village, and I'm there all the time. It was not expensive. The food was very good, and it was restaurant type and a little bit of the gourmet side. They have cleaning service once a week, they have a concierge to pick up dry cleaning, and they have activities all day long. They have a pool, tennis court, and basketball courts. They go on off campus trips like shopping trips, and they give you rides to your doctor's appointments. They have a fitness center with a physical therapist and personal trainers. The residents and the people that work there seemed to be happy all the time.

Paradise Village was a great, well-established community. They just didn't have anything available in the family suites. Paradise Village is a very nice place, but it's just not for me. I can't use a lot of the facilities here nor eat the food they cook. Paradise Village was gorgeous, very big, and catered to people very well. They didn't have any vacancies and were still building their memory care facility. I needed to see what kind of memory care was going to be provided; however, they might not have the building completed and operational by the time my mother needs it. It was just too much of a gamble. I did love it, though. The facility was clean. The employees were delightful. I know somebody who works there. It was wonderful. They had multiple dining areas and a four-page ala carte menu if you don’t like what they’re serving on any given day. The chef came out to talk to me and assured me he would fix whatever my mother wanted to eat even if it wasn’t on the menu.

We went to Paradise Village. It was beautiful inside. The meals were great. We stayed overnight, and there just happened to be a party celebrating something in a room, so we met many fantastic people. They were so nice to us. However, you couldn’t have wine in the dining room. We just like wine with dinner, so, for us, I think that would be a big negative about that place. Also, we didn’t like National City. It didn’t seem like there were any shopping centers or nice restaurants around. The facility was beautiful, and the people were very nice. For our needs, I would give it one star, but for someone who doesn’t care about wine with dinner and not going out, it would be nice enough for them. Also, it only had an indoor pool; it didn’t have an outdoor swimming pool.

At Paradise Village, you have a significantly less down payment with them. They only require $2,000 deposit, and then after you've decided that you will move in, they will ask for $10,000 more and you can get it all back after two years. After that, you possibly lose the $10,000. You lose the $2,000 after two years. So this is one of the least expensive places to go. They have nice units, a beautiful indoor pool, exercise equipment, and so it is a nice place. It is a beautiful building. They have a very beautiful entry with a big fountain and a lovely indoor swimming pool. Actually, there is a bank that is attached to the building, so it is very convenient for banking. Then, they have a very nice dining room that is on the main floor. It is only a three-story building, so it is not a high-rise. They have selections every day, and they provide you two meals. One of those is a continental breakfast, and the other is dinner. We have eaten there three or four times, and it was good food. They have a beautiful, big theater that seats about 200 people, and they have entertainment coming in. Recently, they had a group of dancers come in, and last Sunday, they had a special guest speaker on memory care, and they have a lot of daily activities. They do things in the pool and things like dance lessons, card games, and all kinds of different activities. Also, occasionally, they will gather those people who are interested, and take them to a theater or something that is in the San Diego area.

Paradise Village is beautiful. It has a ton of amenities, and it is reasonably priced. They have a gym, a salon, and a heated indoor swimming pool. They have a church service which is a Catholic Mass on Sundays. It has a theater and a restaurant in addition to the resident's dining area.

I just thought Paradise Village was wonderful. It is extremely well-appointed and had wonderful facilities. I talked to a lot of the residents, and they were whole-heartedly in praise of many facets to the place. The rooms look good, and it was a good value. Another thing that I have since found out is that a number of people that we know have been residents there and give it a really high mark. The person that was assigned to my sister and I think to another couple of people, and they were very informative and extremely pleasant. I was very pleased with it, and the residents seemed very happy.

Paradise Village was beautiful, and I liked it a lot. The staff were very accommodating. If it worked for me and I needed it, I would consider it. It was set up really nice. It's got an indoor pool and a restaurant. We did have lunch there, and it was very good, but the location was really the downside of it.

My in-laws are at Paradise Village, and I like that place a lot. The people were friendly, and it seemed very clean. They do have activities for their residents, and the food was good. My in-laws also like it fairly well.

The staff of Paradise Village Retirement Community was very nice and very helpful, and they gave us a tour. The rooms were big and very clean. We liked it. We did not eat there, but the dining area was big and fine. I did not see any recreational activities, but I think their residents were happy.

I visited Paradise Village, and I thought they were a little expensive. But they had rooms that were nice although their studio didn't have a balcony. If you went to a studio, you have only a certain amount of food credit a month. That is all they give you. They have plenty of activities though. The community is very good, and I liked it. It will be very good for a person that is a little bit wealthier than I am. It is a very good community, but I can't afford it.

I really liked Paradise Village, and if my father-in-law gets worse, that’s the place that I would chose for him. It was all inclusive; they had even a bank there. They had a van that would take them to the grocery stores and activities, so it was a gorgeous place. The rooms were of good size and clean. The price was reasonable. The grounds were very nice; everything was very tidy and well-groomed. The staff was very professional and helpful. I met these guys, and they were very accommodating. There was a place where they were playing poker or blackjack which I thought was very entertaining. They had a gym and a swimming pool, and there were people working out. It was really beautiful.

Paradise Village is probably the nicest-looking place we had seen. It’s large, it’s new, and it looks more upscale to me. They have a huge swimming pool, and the apartments are lovely, lovely, lovely. They’re spacious enough, just beautiful. A young gentleman showed us around. The staff has been very friendly and very helpful.

My mom has been in assisted living now for a month and a half. It's called Paradise Village. So far, my mom is very happy there. People working there are good. The facility is about a block from the hospital if needed. They have everything that is needed within walking distance. Food there is great so far. I have no problems with it. Their rooms are a little bit small though.

Paradise Village is an excellent facility, but it's just too small for us because we do have a lot of things. They have good people and they do have activities like tours or field trips. The staff who accommodated us was very nice. We had free dinner and the food was very good. I can recommend this to other people who would want to see the place.

I wasn’t happy with my visit at Paradise and it didn’t impress me. It was too big and exuberant. I didn’t care for the place at all. They have a lot of activities for the residents. It was expensive and the staff that took me on the tour was more like a salesman. It didn’t have a homey feel for me.

My husband and I completely enjoyed our recent stay at Paradise Village. Our room was beautifully decorated; in fact, the entire community exceeded my expectations. From the rooms, lobby areas, grounds, Wellness Center, theater, and restaurants went above and beyond any retirement facility I have ever seen. Everything was beautiful and elegant. The residents and their guests appeared happy and active and the central Plaza building had a wonderful liveliness to it. The staff were friendly and helpful - especially the dining team, who served us several fantastic meals. I would heartily recommend taking a look at the community.

Paradise Village is top line and it's brand new. Everything is in good shape and most of the facilities are very good. This place was also close to my son that's why I chose it.

Visited this facility

We visited the Paradise Village assisted living facility in National City, near San Diego, CA as a place for our grandmother to live. As she has many friends in the region and has always liked the South Bay area, it seemed logical to visit the facility. The building resembles a resort community, with all the style and comfort of a secure gated community, but with a kind of exotic décor. Our grandmother has embraced vegetarianism, so we were thrilled to find so many menu options that catered to this lifestyle. She loves to swim, and the pool and spa were as nice as any we've seen at any hotel. The hot tub therapy includes a salon and the fitness classes could be tailored to fit her needs, which we really liked. While she was ambulatory, she was a regular member of the local YWCA. The wellness center would provide a lot of convenience for her. She really liked the theater and pointed out that many of her guests would enjoy the putting green. The Plaza area included a wonderful open atrium with restaurant dining and an outdoor patio. There is also a coffee shop and a library, which we know our grandmother will really enjoy, as she is an avid reader. Recreational activities were plentiful with tennis courts, walking paths, billiards, an art studio and many other cultural and social events. The chapel features a variety of religious activities and covers all faiths. This facility has everything that a senior needs in a retirement facility and more. Very well designed and thought out, with wonderful, caring staff.
