READ MOREMiami-Dade County is in the southeastern region of Florida and has over 2.7 million residents, about 17% of whom are seniors. While the local senior population is a little smaller than the state norm, there are numerous benefits and resources for older adults. The county is listed on the AARP Age-Friendly Network and is noted for its high number of homes with zero-step entrances, access to affordable housing and reliable public transportation options. Several high-performing hospitals are within the county, including HCA Florida Mercy Hospital and Baptist Health South Miami Hospital.
Miami-Dade County seniors may be able to remain in their homes with the support of home care agencies. These agencies provide nonmedical services such as housekeeping, meal preparation and personal care, and they charge approximately $4,195 per month. For seniors who need skilled nursing services such as diabetes management, vitals monitoring and physical or occupational therapies, home health care may be the better option.
Below we’ve compiled a comprehensive directory of every home care provider in Miami Dade County– complete with services offered and reviews from families who’ve actually used the service. In addition to our in-depth provider listings, we’ve compiled resources to help seniors and their families to access all the tools they need to age in place safely and gracefully.

Given the high cost of in-home care, many people use one or more forms of financial assistance to cover the expenses. Below, we explain some of the most common sources of financial help for paying for in-home care. If none of these options are available to you, you can reach out to your Area Agency on Aging or Aging and Disability Resource Center to learn about local resources.
