Does Seroquel interrupt sleep pattersn?

A fellow caregiver asked...

My mom has Alzheimer's and she had been sleeping a good bit. One moring she got up hitting and wanting to fight. I called the doctor and they increased her Seroquel to twice a day so she takes 100mg a day. She is not napping at all since we did this. Is this normal?

Decrease in napping is not a common effect of Seroquel. However, I would not worry about it if your mother sleeps well at night.
