I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
At first, my mother-in-law didn’t want to be in the House of the Good Shepherd. She had quite a turnaround and is doing really well there. First, she was in the sub acute because she had broken a hip and from there, she went into assisted living. It's a very nice place, but she was recently sent back to sub acute because her Alzheimer's was getting a little worse. The rooms are generously sized. They’re a little more expensive than others but extremely clean and well kept. The recreation department is really nice. It’s a beautiful setting because it’s on a river. There are all kinds of sitting areas outside. She says the food isn’t that great, but now she seems to be very happy there.

I visited this facility
I toured the house of the good shepherd this past week and was extremely surprised such a good place for the elderly existed. I couldn't find one thing wrong. It appears there is everything there-p.o., bank, atm, beauty facility, chapel, exercise room, beautiful dining room and excellent service and food. everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and there to assist. there were many more amenities but I think you get the gist. I will gladly go there when my time comes--which will probably be soon.

I am a friend or relative of resident
My father was admitted here on Dec.22. He has late-stage Alzheimer's and can no longer stand/ walk. It was terribly hard for us,as I live 3 hours away, and my mother lives 1 hour away and is in poor health. Though we would love for Pop to be closer, this was the only place with a male bed available on the skilled nursing unit HOWEVER, as both a daughter and an RN, I am thrilled with the wonderful care Pop is receiving. These are kind caring professionals.Every person seems to be committed to maintain the highest level of the residents functional abilities while giving the most compassionate care possible. My family could not be more pleased.
