I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Mom moved into Discovery Village at Alliance Town Center around three weeks ago. The community is excellent. It's not your typical assisted living place. It's almost like a cruise ship. It's very nice there. There's no smell. Her room is very spacious and welcoming. It has an area for a bedroom. It's got a little sitting area. It has a kitchen sink and a couple of cabinets. It has a large bathroom with a walk-in or rolling shower, and a spacious closet. Very nice. It's kind of new, but so far everything has been very, very good. The staff is excellent, very accommodating. I think the food is good. I have not eaten it. There are several days where she says she doesn't like the food, but that's an older person, and I think that's normal.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My girlfriend's father is in Discovery Village at Alliance Town Center. They have senior independent living, they have assisted living, and then they have memory care. So they have three in one. My dad's 86, he's still independent, but the nice thing was he could go to assisted living. I was impressed with that. They get the residents involved in all kinds of neat things. But I am going tomorrow morning, my third visit, to check out the facility. We saw the assisted living. I didn't get to see the independent but it's close by. That place is really neat, it's located between two major hospitals. If you have heart problems going on, there's one hospital that specializes in heart. If you have, like, specialty problems, then you go to the other hospital. So that was the plus, very convenient. The cleanliness was very good. They help you with your medication, they come in and change the sheets, definitely clean your room. You can choose to go there and eat at the table with the other seniors, or you can get the food to come back to your room. My girlfriend showed me the menu. Wow, they have all kinds of stuff for the seniors. There's no reason for them to stay in the room. There's always something going on and they want them to socialize. They do have women's and men's Bible study, they have bingo night, they have movie nights, and they have card games, and other games to play. They'll take you to your doctor's appointment.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I live at Watercrest at Alliance Town Center. We have a fitness center, a heated pool, hair salon, massages, pool tables, ping pong, games, cards, puzzles, darts, shuffleboard, and there's a bus that takes you to different places. I have a very well-appointed room, with plenty of space, a full kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, living room, and dining room. The staff is fantastic, very nice, and they all know your name. We have elevators, but it's a little difficult going down the hall to your room, but it's not bad.

Provider Response

It sounds like you're definitely keeping busy, Helen! Thanks for the kind review, and for sharing a bit about your experiences. We wish you nothing but the best!

I visited this facility

We went to Watercrest at Alliance Town Center. It was very, very nice, and the people there were outstanding. The sales people were very, very helpful, and they answered a lot of questions. They were extremely nice, and we got a lot of information. It’s the only place we visited, and the reason we visited that is because it’s fairly close to where my son lives.
