I visited this facility

Braswell's Chateau Villa was a really nice facility. Everyone was extremely friendly. They just remodeled their dining room, and it's beautiful. The rooms are very spacious, and it's an extremely clean place. They weren't able to accommodate my husband because he was too big, and they didn't have the staff to accommodate such a large man. They showed us around assisted living. Everyone looked like they were enjoying their lunch. I liked everything that I saw on the outside.

My grandmother is now at Braswell's Chateau Villa. It's good. She has a roommate. Her room is kept clean. It is new with a new carpet. It's newly painted too. They have activities for seniors. They also have a dining area, a recreation room, and a living room with a fireplace and couches.

My friend has been in Braswell’s Chateau Villa for about a year and a half. It’s a very cold place; one of the worse ones in that area. He got an infection from scabies, and he was not the only one. It’s so dirty in there. The roof leaks, so no doubt there’s mold in-between the walls. I’ve made many complaints, and I don’t know if anything was heard. The food is terrible. It’s salty and high in carbohydrates. I know a lady there who is diabetic and has difficulty getting her sugar down because the food is so poor. They give the residents ham and cheese sandwiches just to get away with not having to prepare something better. It’s disgusting. The place should be condemned.

My mom is currently living in Braswell Chateau Villa, a nursing home in Redlands that I truly adore. It is not an assisted living facility. I guess it is a retirement facility also listed as a nursing home. The place is very quaint and very accommodating and sensitive to her needs. It is a nice facility for the area. The price that my mother is paying is very reasonable.

Braswell's Chateau Villa seems like a very clean place. My father is there now, and he has a roommate. He has his own bed and a dresser, they share a bathroom, and they have medication reminders. There are no alarms or anything. The staff is really nice and very good. They go on tours and field trips, and they have games like Bridge, poker, and bingo. The dining area is really nicely sized, but I haven't eaten there though.

My experience with Braswell's Chateau Villa is wonderful. The staff is wonderful. Everything is wonderful. The rooms are very clean, very organized, and very nice sized. They have quite a few activities including bingo, shopping, walking, and exercise group every morning. They have a lot of things for them to choose from. The food is alright. We chose this place for the convenience, cleanliness, and friendliness.

My mom has been at Braswell's Chateau Villa since April. Everything seems to be very nice. The staff is very kind. I wouldn't let her be there if I didn't think it was a very good place for her to live. She seems to be very happy right now. The management is very receptive to having to change when there was somebody with her in the shared room who wasn't happy to be there and it wasn't working out very well. Mom is in a room with a mini refrigerator and a private bathroom that is handicapped accessible. They do a lot of activities during the week, and it's very quiet on the weekends. They do bingo and they play trivia games. They do exercises in the morning, and then they read the newspaper out loud. There are some other things that she doesn't do, but they have an available walking club where the residents walk around the block. With their food, I wouldn't say it's a gourmet meal every time, but they definitely try to accommodate people with different kinds of nutritional needs. My biggest thing, if I had to complain, is they don't do any outings outside of the facility right now, so I do think they need to work on that.

This is a very reasonable place as far as money. The place has very old dirty carpet in halls and rooms, which I think is a germ problem. They do shampoo the dining room carpet but never residents rooms unless the room is not rented. The food was terrible but they recently gave residents option to pick from menu. I feel this is better than serving food people just leave on plate . They only have 2 cargivers after dinner (one for each floor) It can take almost an hour for someone to come when you push the button on third shift. I do think most of the cargivers care about the residents but the pay is very low and not enough staff after 5pm. The residents only get bathed twice a week and the rooms cleaned once a week. There is no cleaning staff on weekends but in the end it is very reasonable for what you get.

The staff is what makes this a good assisted-care facility for family members. The core staff has been there for years and truly cares about the residents. My grandmother has been there for 8 years, and she is very happy. While many residents have roommates to keeps down the costs, my grandmother has a private apartment. The costs are lower than I usually see advertised for this type of care. They provide 3 hot meals per day plus housekeeping, laundry service and limited local transportation. You can contract additional services for a fee, such as assistance with dressing, bathing, etc. The activities director offers bingo sessions, exercise classes, concerts and parties. The Braswell's throw a nice party. We've had luaus with roast pig (apple in the mouth) and Mad Hatter Tea parties. Alcoholic beverages are sometimes served at the parties. They want the residents to feel at home and have fun. Field trips are arranged, with the residents paying their own way when reaching the destination. Residents can participate or enjoy the quiet of their own rooms. There is no pressure. The building is older but is well maintained. The food isn't great, but the cook accommodates most special requests. No place is perfect, but I trust these people. I would rather have my grandmother cared for by loving, honest people than have her housed in the grandest building.

I visited this facility

This is a multi-unit facility. It has a Alzheimer's unit, Assisted-Living unit and a Convalescent unit. Clean facility with a well-meaning staff. It is severely understaffed, so nurses fly in and out of rooms. I was a student and did my externship there. All the nurses were eager to show us the ropes and made sure we treated their patients right. The only complaint I have is the food. Many of the Assisted-Living residents wanted seasonings on their food, or simply requested something else. My only complaint is lack of staff, but they did the best they could (which was pretty awesome) and helped shaped the careers of a few newbies. My experience there shaped my nursing career.

The worse thing is the food. They serve lunch meat with mashed potatoes and gravy - very frequently. Most things are packaged or frozen foods that can be bought cheap and in bulk. There is only one caregiver per floor after day shift over. It is reasonable but it is not the cleanest place - They should get rid of all the carpet and have pergo or tile for sanitary reasons. But like I said it is very reasonable.

Braswell's Chateau Villa is so much more than a skilled nursing facility, it is an extension of home. The staff truly care about patients and their families and take the time to design a care program for their individual needs. I personally placed my great grandfather at Braswell's Chateau and saw first hand the level of care he received. We could not have been happier. The convalescent wing is clean, bright and cheery. Staff acknowledge each person with a smile and hello in the hallways. Meal times are served in a beautiful dining room just like home or residents may eat in the privacy of their rooms if they choose. While there, my grandfather's health turned worse and the staff effortlessly took over tasks he could no longer manage himself but they did it in a way that respected his dignity. The staff were so friendly and open with the family and that extra mile they took was much appreciated. My great grandfather thoroughly enjoyed his stay at Braswell's and we had the peace of mind knowing his was in the best capable skilled nursing facility for his needs. I was impressed by the staffs dedication to their patients and the level of comfort afforded the family, just as we needed it.
