I visited this facility
I have/had a relative staying at good samaritan in yakima wa. It is clean and didn't have the usual smell that tends to go with care facilities. My problem with the place is that they are not honest (upper management staff). My family member didn't pay enough because he/she didn't require enough care for the higher pay. I was told flat out that the state is requiring him/her to move to a lesser care facility. A total lie. They refuse to Communicate any information about Dr's appointments or even for what they are about. My family member fell while going to the dr, walking by himself and fell. No call. When confronted I was told that they called, another lie. I was shocked when I saw his black and blue face and legs.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
2 different times we asked the day shift charge nurse how are moms lungs sounded, both times we were told CLEAR. Both times she LIED and had never even went to see are mom. Wonder if this is how she would treat her mom? Dietary is a JOKE my mom is on a 2 gram low sodium diet (a common diet in rehabs/nursing homes) which NONE of the kitchen staff have a clue on what that it is! 3 days in one week mom had Tomato soup and a cheese sandwich for her dinner, another day her dinner was scalloped potatoes and carrots the main dish was HAM which low sodium diets can not have, we get that BUT THEY should've had an alternate for her and anyone else that is on a 2 gram low sodium diet in facility. We've called, we've had meetings, I spoke with administrator yesterday, she assured me the DNS would be calling me before the end of the day to give me an update on my mom, im still waiting for that call. My sister went there today requested the DNS meet her in moms room to discuss are concerns she never showed. NO ONE seems to care.

I am/was a resident of this facility
I was at Good Samaritan after I had my hips replaced. I was in the unit where they have physical therapy. The care was excellent. What's nice is that even though you had to do exercises, you are still very well taken care of. The facility is really nice. I just don't have anything bad to say at all. The physical therapists were encouraging. When I would do exercises, my hip would hurt afterward; I would turn on my call button and ask for ice, and they'd bring ice. They just took really good care of us and I've heard that from other people who have stayed there, too. They were prompt in responding. They were very good about being there not too long after you turn on your call light. The facility was very well kept; it didn't smell bad and it didn't look bad. They always encouraged us to go down and eat our meals in the dining room. You could sit at whichever table you wanted and you would get to know different people who lived there, too. It was a fun atmosphere.

I am/was a resident of this facility
The hospital referred Good Samaritan Health Care Center to me. The facility doesn’t smell bad, there was no odor, and that was a really big thing. The facility is very clean. The staff, the nurse, everybody were just very pleasant. The food was okay. They took care of my meds. The rehab was great. It was an overall good experience.

I am a past client of this provider
Mom stayed at Good Samaritan Health Care Center for a short-term rehab until she got better and lived on her own. We were totally happy with the care there and the accomplishment with the rehab. The staff was very wonderful, very attentive, and very available. The place was clean, no smell whatsoever.
