We chose The Fountains at Canterbury for mom. They're easy to work with and the facility seemed real nice and clean. We've known other people that have taken their parents there. The staff we worked with was very helpful with giving us information we needed to place our mom there, and she was very professional and seemed to care. They have a salon. We liked it because at some of the places we've looked at, the residents would have to go out into the hallway and use the restroom to shower. The room that she will have at The Fountains had it right there in her room. They have a dining area, and she has a patio that she can go out on from her room. The hospital is not too far, and there's plenty of restaurants around.

I like The Fountains at Canterbury, but I didn't like their pricing. They have other levels of care. They have assisted living and Alzheimer's or memory care, too. I went to see whatever they have to offer, but I didn't go into memory care. It was very nice. I remember a lake outside, and they had walking areas around it. They had nice menu in their dining room. Some of the rooms had views of the lake. They had a nice exercise room and a nice TV room. They had a covered area for my car. In general, it was a very nice place, but I didn't like their pricing. What they had was kind of a buy-in thing. But they claimed they would take care of you until your death. The pricing part of it just didn't appeal. Including the pricing, I would knock the rating down to a 4, but the rest of it was a 5, like the facility and the people.

We chose The Fountains at Canterbury. It was recommended by a friend. My mom has only been there for three weeks now, but they have been good. I've seen her room. It's nice and large, but it doesn't have a personal shower, so that was a disappointment. It seems like a nice place. I haven't heard much about the activities, but there is a beauty shop, and my mom was really grateful to be able to get her nails and hair done. The façade of the place is nice; it's very large. The memory care buildings are like individual houses with multiple rooms. It's nice and a little bit more homey than something like a high-rise building, and I think it's a good value, too.

The Fountains at Canterbury was great. The lady had already spent two hours with us, and she had another appointment coming up, so we didn't tour the other facilities like the assisted living. I would recommend their independent living facility. The model rooms that we looked at were under renovation from people that had just moved out. The staff was very friendly, very knowledgeable, very helpful, and very professional. It had a little pond and fountains outside. It's landscaped very good. We went straight to the cottages because the staff had limited time because of her appointments. They only had one dining area for independent living, but we didn't get to see it. They didn't have as many cottages as the other one we visited, but the community was pretty good sized. They had independent living cottages and two high-rise apartments, the nursing facility, a memory center, and an assisted living standalone.

The Fountains at Canterbury didn't offer an A-contract, so if Mom outlives her money, she would have to go to a Medicaid bed. They had an on-site trainer, a workout facility, a pool, activities, really nice restaurants, and lake with a view. The staff was excellent. The dining room was A+ and had an overview to an outdoor patio, overlooking their lake, they had a barbecue area out there, and it was stellar looking. They had a very accommodating staff, so if you missed a mealtime, they would give something for you out of the kitchen. The rooms had high ceilings, were very brightly lit on the inside, and had great views.

The Fountains at Canterbury was very nice. Its spread out over a much bigger area and it's set back from the road. It's a little more inconspicuous. The grounds are really big, and there's an area for memory care folks to walk around outside. The décor is really homey and cozy. The staff member who took me on a tour of the place was wonderful and great. The menu was really impressive because they make it a point to make food for individuals who may not like consistency. It seemed they had a lot of stuff planned and that they keep people busy.

Were now settled at The Fountains at Canterbury. We like the location and it's far away from the business of the city. The shopping is very conveniently located. We just liked it above the others. The food could be better, but it has already improved. There are many activities planned and you can stay busy all the time if you want to. One of the things that's nicest about it is it's all under one roof. We had a Halloween party yesterday, we decorated pumpkins, and an adopted grandchildren program. They have yoga, water walking, water aerobics, and a movie every Friday night. There's just a lot of things going on. The staff in independent living is excellent and very good. It's just very expensive.

My mom went for rehab and skilled nursing at The Fountains at Canterbury for about five or six weeks. Appearance and layout are good. The physical therapy people and doctor are awesome, but the nursing care there sucks at times because there is a lack of attention. Anytime we had a question, they got upset and said we "cared too much." We had some issues throughout the process with the nursing people. The food was pretty good, but they tended to run out of desserts and sometimes didn't have enough food to go around, which surprised me since they know how many people are in there.
