I visited this facility

We toured Sky Active University Pines. They don't have anything available that we want right now, but we told them to keep us in line. We wanted a two-bedroom, but everything is very nice over there. We like it. We like the location. We don't want to leave this area. There's a hospital right across the road. It's a good place for seniors. I was very happy. I was very satisfied with their treatment. Mary was very nice. She was informative. She knew what she was doing. She gave us all the details. We've got a pamphlet with everything in it in case a two-bedroom would come up. She was very thorough, so we understood everything. They invited us for lunch. It was very good. I was totally satisfied with everything there. There wasn't one thing that I didn't think was nice. The facility was very good and very clean. We looked at a one-bedroom apartment, but we just have to have two bedrooms and two baths. The upgrades are nice. The whole place was great. I would recommend it to anybody. They had a library. They had different karaoke. They had the meals and the apartment cleaning. I sat with one of the ladies who has been there for five years, and she gave a good rating, too. There's just nothing I could say bad about the whole experience.

I visited this facility

Sky Active University Pines was lovely. It looked like a nice resort or a nice hotel. They had two-bedroom apartments with two baths and that was great. I would have lived there myself. They talked about a lot of things. They had a book club and they had a walking club where they walked trails or something. They knew what they were doing. They were very informative. There was no pressure. Even the dining room was nice. The kitchen stays open all night, they said. You had kitchenettes in the apartments, but they also had an open kitchen so that if you needed a snack in the middle of the night, you could just come down and get some fruit or something, so I liked that. It offered the most and seemed like the best place for someone to go, but it was very expensive.

I toured here and it's very nice. It's one big apartment building. They serve three meals a day and have a very good cook. He fixed the meatloaf the day I was there, and it was wonderful. The staff is very nice. However, it's not a 24-hour venue, and at night, they don't lock the doors. But your personal door's locked. They were doing bocce ball when I was there. There was also a group there in the center. I'm not sure what they were doing, but they were all laughing and that's a good sign. The rooms are all very nice. Several of them had patios where you can go right out on the ground and the rest of them had balconies.

University Pines was very nice. I liked it. It looked like it was going to be a good fit for my father-in-law. We had a tasty meal and Freddie was the one who took us around. They had several games and puzzle areas. The rooms were very accommodating, clean, and had good space.

University Pines is very pleasant, it's a nice place, and the tour was very good. The information was great. The staff gave us a nice folder, it's very fancy and beautiful, and had all the information in it. The location is good too. The facility was clean, everybody was very professional and just very, very nice. I liked it a lot. It's an independent living, it's not assisted living, so any kind of other care that my friend would need would be an additional cost. The rooms are not furnished. They're like apartments, just like apartment-living with meal service. I'm not sure but I guess they had a cleaning service once a week. You could use a car, people there are allowed to do that kind of thing. There's just not a lot of health care.

We found University Pines for my mother. Mary is the salesperson who walked with us and did the tour through University Pines. She did a great job with giving us any information we asked and giving us lots of detail about how their services work. We asked to look at one-bedroom apartments and studios, and we went over the prices with her. She also did a tour of the whole community inside and out. It's three stories, and it has lots of amenities like a hairdresser, a library, and meals. They get three meals a day. They have a beautiful dining area, they have a chapel, and they provide transportation services, which was a big plus for us, because my mom doesn't drive. It's very easily accessible. She's able to sign up pretty much any weekday when she needs to go places, so that was a big plus for the community. We were able to find her a studio on the ground floor with a patio of her own, which was also something that we were looking for.

I enjoy University Pines. It's like three floors. You have your own home, and you can choose between a studio, a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom. The people are very nice. Everything is fine. The room is clean. The food is fine, but it could be better. They have a lot of activities. They have activities probably every hour on the hour, except when you're eating. There's a lot to do. The people are very friendly. You can ask anybody anything and they'll tell you. I only have a studio and it is large enough for my possessions. I enjoy it. The staff is very good. They're very nice. I've no problem with the staff. They do whatever they have to for you. They serve three meals a day. They have breakfast, dinner, and lunch. I think this is the most economical choice in the Pensacola area.

The tour I did at University Pines in Pensacola was really nice. It was very informative. I saw the independent living. The staff was great. When I had questions, they showed me everything. They tried to make sure they didn't forget anything, which they didn't. The staff itself was really great. The buildings were nice. They were just a little older than I thought they would be. I like the openness when you come in and the levels. I thought it was very clean too.

I moved into University Pines, and it is excellent. They're very helpful, the food is outstanding, they gave me a medallion in case I would fall or need help in anything. They're very informative, and I like it a whole lot, it's a luxury apartment. The staff is excellent, and very helpful. Right now they have bingo, ceramics, karaoke, and all kinds of different things, but I haven't gone to them yet. They have a beauty shop, a library, they have a gym, and they have a laundromat.

I liked University Pines a lot; they were very helpful. It's independent living. I talked to the staff pretty extensively. The rooms are small studios basically that looked perfectly fine. It looked like a nice facility.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has been in this facility for 14 years. I can't think of any better place for her to live. The staff is caring not only to the resident, but to their family as well. During this pandemic, they have been diligent in keeping everyone safe. The staff wears masks all the time and are careful about social distancing with the activities they play and eating in the dining room. I am happy to say that so far, they have not had one case of Covid. I have visited other facilities in the past and I did not think that they presented a warm homey feeling. When I go to University Pines to visit my mother, I feel like I am going to her home, not just a place where she lives.

I took a tour of University Pines. The staff was very nice, it was quite pleasant, but I want to be closer to family. The rooms were fine, in a very good shape, not spacious, but livable, and the dining area looked very clean. They have yoga, and an exercise program for movement.

We visited University Pines. They had all kinds of activities, like painting, plus there's a library, exercise room, television, and all kinds of get-togethers. The meals were OK, but we also had a wonderful holiday meal. They had everything for amenities, a beautiful area to park in, lots of space for visitors, and a beautiful front porch.

University Pines is an excellent facility. The staff was nice, very helpful, and very knowledgeable. They seemed to have a good relationship with all the people living there. They knew everyone by first name. They seemed like warm, genuine people. They serve three meals a day. They had numerous activities. They have a trail that goes all the way around the facility so you can go walk. You can have a pet there, and there are places to walk your pet outside. They have day trips as well. You schedule ahead of time, and they have shuttles to get you to doctor’s appointments.

University Pines was probably the most active with staff-led programs at the time we were there than any of the places we visited. It is called independent living, but to us it was like a step between independent and assisted. It is not really independent and not really assisted. For example, none of apartments had full kitchens, and we are not ready for that yet. It was a very lovely campus, and the people who were there were obviously very happy and very engaged. They had an exercise corner with two or three pieces of equipment.

I just walked in, and there were little scooters and little wheelchairs and everything else going all over the place. There were lots of people and lots of activities going on. They had their little veterans' wall and veterans' meetings. Everything looked absolutely wonderful, and the rooms looked wonderful. University Pines is where I would put my in-laws.

University Pines is nice and spacious. It looks like a good place to where my dad could move in to. It is bit of a community of his peers. They had shared with us a couple of the one-bedrooms that was vacated at the time. They shared with us that they were taking some of the residents to the Blue Angels show during that time. They shared some of the activities they have available for the men like a billiards area. They encourage the men to meet there. They have a TV area that is separate, and they have a weight room too. They are really good and nice.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

University Pines was very active and social. It didn't appear to be a nursing home-type setting. The rooms have different sizes. They have a very small all-in-one type room, and then they have one a little bit bigger. It's still one room, but it has a lot more space in it, and then they have rooms for couples. The staff is very friendly, open, welcoming. They have a big calendar that they print every month. There are probably 8 to 10 activities for people to choose from every day. They have different trips during the week, and they have people that come in to entertain. They have all different types of games and activities for the residents every day. I visited my mother several times, and they give them options for different things. It's not just one thing that they have to eat. It's very good. They have several chefs that work, and they alternate, so it's very good. The dining area is like a restaurant, so she can mingle, and it's very open. I think the best thing for her is the social activities. She's able to get out and meet people. She likes it.

We visited University Pine and it's a nice place. We did not get really familiar with the staff, but they seemed okay. We didn't spend much time there, but I can say that the apartments are adequate and that's all I can say.
