I am/was a resident of this facility
Food was not very good at University Village, but my apartment is wonderful. It’s a nice, cozy 1-bedroom apartment. However, the rehab where my husband is needs to be redone; my husband’s room has got a broken wall, and his bathroom looks terrible. The elevators or the air conditioning takes a long time to get it repaired.

I visited this facility
From what I saw at University Village, the staff was very involved with their clients. As I walked through, they had one group doing something and another group doing something else, like art activities. There was another activity where they were all sitting together but were around staff members who were doing the activity with them. It looked like they had two groups, and while I was there, the session was over and they switched; one group went over to the craft activity, the others went to a game activity. The rooms looked very nice, and it looked like they were doing some renovations, like fresh paint and carpeting. It was very nice, but I went to other places with which I was more impressed.

I am a friend or relative of resident
When my mother became lonely after my father's death, she decided that it was time to interview retirement/life care facilities. After the process, we all agreed that University Village was by far the best choice. It has now been 14 years since we made that decision, and we can whole-hardily reconfirm our good choice. After 11 years in the independent living and now 3 years in assisted living, my mom is very happy and satisfied, and we are comfortable knowing she is being well cared for. We would highly recommend this facility to others.

University Village was very nice and beautiful. The accommodation and the atmosphere would remind you of a five star hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean and beautiful. They had a card room and sewing room. They had a small auditorium where they brought in musicians from the local university and they showed movies and it was very nice.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
I visited a friend at Inn at University Village(the)on a daily basis for 3 months. It very clean. They had weekly housekeepers for the residents. They also offered meals daily but the residents could also cook in their apartments. They had a place the residents would gather and visit while waiting for the dining room to open. The staff was friendly and caring. The reception area was opulently decorated and inviting. The apartments were spacious. There was a sun room in every apartment. The residents could smoke in their apartments and outside. When family would come visit they were allowed to stay in the apartments. They had transportation available to residents who could no longer drive, but allowed them to have their own transportation as well. The outside grounds were well maintained and beautifully landscaped. It was a gated community with security personal, and the residents felt safe inside or outside. They allowed pets. Some of the residents had been living at this facility for as long as 22 years. This is the kind of retirement facility anyone would be comfortable living at.
