I have the opa is it legal for me to get paid for caregiving

A fellow caregiver asked...

My father friend decided 3 years ago to give us the opa for his Health. A year ago he got sick which he cannot walk anymore,so he decided to give me the power of attorney for one bank .. My father refused to get his opa for his finacial so they never singed the paper... I dicited to get two caregivers to help me takecare of him since he was very sick and couldn't eat by himself or pretty much do anything..he is a very stubborn man and got into an argument with two of his caretakers and into a fight with one hospice provider.. He is doing great now but he can not walk anymore his caretaker ask to work 3 days per week, and decided to cover the 4 days since i will be close and see how the girls in the facility treat him.. Since I can go back to school because I have to take into the bank I have to take him to the doctor and a lawyer signs he's leaving trust that he was supposed to be done six months ago I cannot pay his rent unless I take him to the bank... I really want to go back to school but I can until the paperwork is done meanwhile I am his caretaker and I was just wondering if it is legal for me to get paid for taking care of him four times a week?
