Reviews of Highland House Assisted Living

I am/was a resident of this facility
The people at Highland House seem to be really nice, but I'm a little concerned about some health issues. When they're handling food or handing out utensils, they don't wear gloves. Overall, I'm happy as I don't see problems with them. They only have one place designated to smoke.

I visited this facility
Highland House staff were very friendly and the residents are given plenty of personal attention. The food looked delicious and each resident seem very happy. I also noticed the facility's inside design was very non-institutionalized but made me feel right at home. Each resident had a private room equipped with cable-TV and phone connections. The décor was very attractive and the place was very clean without any bad odors.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
The staff was very kind, but the place itself was awful. On the outside, it was stuffy and old, with worn brick and an extremely small parking lot that did not allow for many visitors. On the inside, all of the decor was outdated and the hallways smelled like waste. The food was, according to my grandma, almost inedible. The rooms were of a decent size, however, and allowed for a decent amount of independence.
