I visited this facility

We toured Campbell Village. We saw a nice bedroom and the eating facility. We were given a tour of the whole facility, and it was a very nice and clean place. They have a TV room. The staff members were very helpful. However, they were too expensive. They wanted a minimum of two months, and we couldn't afford that. The staff members though were conscientious.

I visited this facility

I did a tour of Campbell Village. The sales marketing staff received me; she is very friendly. It's very aged, it is old. The facility is very depressing. They have done a good job in terms of cleanliness, it's as good as it gets, but it's old. The decorations, the color scheme; you walk in and it's in the 70s setting. They're still using the CRT and projection TV in some of the living rooms. They have LED TV in the main room, but in all other seating areas, there's only the CRT and projection TV. I understand it's a senior house, so you see a lot of old things. I'm looking for my parents right now, but one of these days I have to look for myself, maybe this is not the place that I want. It is not the place that I would like to stay. It is very depressing, frankly speaking. They are very friendly, and they do a very good job to keep the place clean and everything else; but it's just that it keeps reminding me that this is old, reminding me that I am getting old. That's why you have this depressing feeling, but that's just me. The staff has done a very good job to keep up the facilities, but it's just old and there's only so much you can do. The Cathode Ray Tube, the TV like a box, you haven't seen those for like 25 or 30 years. When you walk in, it feels like you are walking into a Holiday Inn. It's like a hotel kind of feeling, the setting; that's why it's so depressing. I think the owner should completely renovate the place because it's old. I didn't see the chapel, but I did see the barbershop, it's like a salon. They have a patio, transportation, and a small library. They have a piano, and the sing-along thing.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My parents were residents of Campbell Village. The level of care in terms of hygiene didn't seem so good and the activities were not great. They seemed to be mainly Bingo available. The physical exercise mainly involved watching a video, and lots of times there was no real group leader. The good thing about Campbell Village is that it was fairly inexpensive. The staff members were pleasant, but we weren't satisfied with the level of care. They did have amenities like a limited library and they went out on a bus mainly for shopping.

I visited this facility

Campbell Village was very good and very affordable. The whole experience there was really good. It was very nice. They gave us a tour of the apartments and the activities going on. They had a huge dining room. It was very clean, very nice, and restaurant-like with tablecloths and cloth napkins. They had a really nice patio. It wasn't the most expensive place, either. It was very reasonable. The staff was very friendly, answered all my questions, and talked to my mom. It was great.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Campbell Village was a nice, well-maintained place, but we moved my uncle out because even before one year was finished, they raised his rent, then raised it the next year and will raise it again by a very high percentage this year. My uncle decided to move near my place. He had a large room there with a balcony. One of the negatives is that they have very little parking for residents and guests. The food was good. The first batches of care providers were more attentive, but they had quite a bit of turnover. By the time he left, he was really dissatisfied with the care he was receiving. He felt like they weren't as attentive as when he first moved in. Their activities director was wonderful.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Everyone at Campbell Village is very friendly. Residents look happy and well cared for. The facility itself is very clean. My mother-in-law is very happy, and she said the food is very good. They have lots of choices, and the dining room is very nice, sunny and comfortable. We have been very impressed with the staff. They are very helpful and very friendly. They seem to be very caring about the residents. They have activities like bingo and exercises.

I visited this facility

Campbell Village was nice, but it was not homey and you’re on your own. The place was pristine but there was no community involvement or making sure the residents stay together or were being friendly with each other. They had scrapbooking, pottery, and high end things to do. They had fine dining food. Everything was an added fee -- like laundry -- so it was very expensive. The staff wasn’t welcoming and sort of "better than you." It just wasn’t for us.

I visited this facility

I wasn't impressed with Campbell Village at all. It didn't have that nice, clean or fresh smell to it. It seemed "sanitized." Also they could definitely upgrade their rooms because they were on the older side. The bathrooms and everything seemed older too. They were the same size as the rooms in the other facilities though.
