There was a mistake in to what services I needed, so result was disappointing. My daughter panicked when I fell down and injured my arms/skin. So I was admitted to the intense care level floor. I soon recovered after a few days and discovered the floor was stuffed with demented and "acting out" patients. I walked around and staff thought I was a guest. Patients were kept in their rooms except for meals. I left after 3 costly weeks at rate of $550. per DAY. I did not need the level of services. I moved to a very nice assisted living residence where I am happy. Be sure you are patient in placing your "loved one", so as to pay for only needed support.

Jewish Home of Rochester fits my husband's level of care, so it is good. It is one of the better places in the area. So far, the staff seems to be okay. It is a pretty nice community, and it is clean. In terms of value for the money, it is very expensive. The people that are there are very attentive to the families and the residents.

The facility is nice, but it’s really about the care. My family member is there. The staff are wonderful. I have seen true affection and kindness many, many times. No one wants to be in a nursing home, but if it has to be so, the Jewish Home of Rochester is probably the best one could possibly do.

This is a terrible place to go. I tried calling a friend of mine at Wolk Manor to tell him that a friend of his had suffered a stroke and they refused to connect me to his room. For security reasons they said. This is like the a police state. Whys should someone in a nursing home not be allowed to have people call them unless they have the number? Any hotel in the US will connect you to a person's room without giving out the room number. I called twice and left messages for this person and he never got them. What a nasty place to live.

After a fall resulting in badly broken leg, I thought I was fortunate to get admitted to the rehab therapy program at the Jewish Home. Far from it. Not only was the facility dirty and the smell almost intolerable, my bed hospital style bed was terribly uncomfortable and the heat wasn't working. Staff did not care. I was told the therapy schedule and it never took place. I was there nearly 3 weeks and had perhaps 5 actual therapy sessions. I was told all of the "good" staff had transferred to the new Green Houses area, and this left the rehab short staffed. The meals were also just disgusting and not edible. I had to argue with nurses to allow me to take a shower each day. Administrators had an excuse for why the care was so bad (sabbath schedule, holiday schedule, short staffing, etc) but at the end of my stay, they still presented me with a hefty bill despite not receiving the care I had been promised in any way. I can't believe any of the good reviews when I know first hand that my stay there was by far completely lacking and detrimental to my recovery.

Terrible place to go. My friend is in there and he had $350 cash stolen from his room. Instead of tying to find out who stole his money they told him not to keep any cash in his room. These people are like the gestapo.

Jewish Home of Rochester was very nice, bright, and welcoming, which was important. The people were very nice and the rehab seemed to be very thorough. They did a lot of different things. The dining area was very nice. The people who helped me were nice and accommodating.
