From what I have seen there, staff are always present in each wing of the facility. There are people checking up on them as often as possible and they are very good about informing the family if there is some sort of incident (for example, if she falls which has happened on a few occasions). In general, I feel safe when she is there, and feel like she is being taken care of. People take her to the cafeteria and help her with her meals and take her to get her hair done once a week. The staff helps her with her television and keeps her entertained with various activities around the home (bingo, singers, movies, games). There is also medical staff there 24/7, nurses who know what to do if she gets sick or injured. Furthermore a doctor is there at least every few days, and can always be called upon if she's sick. I'm very satisfied with the way she is being taken care of and feel that she is in a very safe environment. The only reason I've given it 4 stars instead of 5 is because we've had some billing issues with the home, charging her ridiculous amounts of money for incidental items like toothpaste without telling us. Now that we know, we buy her her own so we don't have to deal with the fees. She was also in isolation once with an illness, and the room charge went up significantly on those days and we did not know until the bill arrived which was very frustrating. Occasionally her prescriptions are charged more than once as well, but other than billing problems which have so far been resolved, I feel the care there is beyond adequate.
