I am a friend or relative of a resident
It seems to be working really well with Homewatch Caregivers. The caregiver basically helps both my mom and dad. She does laundry, cooking, and cleaning, and she even mows the lawn. She doesn't have to, but she likes doing that. It's not the normal service, but she's just really incredible. So we've been very lucky. We used them when Dad had bypass surgery last fall, and we started using them again the last couple of months.
Mom isn't particularly thrilled about it because she still wants everything to be the same. But we tried and brought her around to realizing that Dad can't do it anymore. We've had 4 or 5 different people. Some of them are better than others. But this girl we have right now who comes Monday through Friday is just really great. I'd definitely recommend them.

I interviewed this provider
After a phone interview at which time we declined their offer to send someone to evaluate our loved ones they took it upon themselves to send someone anyway with no notice. Very unprofessional and disappointing

Homewatch CareGivers is a caregiver assistance program funded by grants. It is completely non-profit geared towards assisting the caregivers with their responsibility and in its source of resources. It's president and owner's name is Mike. He is a pleasure to work with. They are very responsive. I call them about a week before and tell them my grandfather is going to be discharged within three to five days and it turn out to be three days and they have somebody waiting for us. They have fast turnaround time. They work hard to find you somebody that fits well with the family. They are very professional and they are very reasonable. They are very affordable for somebody when you are looking for that kind of care and you want to keep somebody home. They really try hard to give everything that we need, and they are very flexible and easy to work with. They can provide everything from companion care to personal care. But it is not skilled medical care that you will get from the hospital. They make is easy and a good experience for the family. They actually move in with the clients a lot of times so that people remain home on their own. They can make meals and do housekeeping. As my grandfather lives with it, it is a little different. They live with us and they cook for the family. But they don't do housecleaning for the me. This gives me and my family the freedom to live normal lives and come and go as we please without basically getting babysitter for my grandfather all the time. They provide caregivers for my grandfather 24/7 that come in rotating shifts. They also have hourly caregiving options. They provide 24 hours supervision, mobile assistance, assistance with the medication and support to make sure that he doesnêt fall and they are with him when he's moving around. They provide re-direction when he gets confused. They get up with him at night if he has to go to the bathroom. They help him with the shower and dressing. I am very satisfied with them. They have after hour phone numbers you can call and they will get back to you right away.

I am a past client of this provider
Before I had to bring my mom to Texas with me, I got the services of Homewatch Caregivers for about 5 weeks. The owner was receptive and he was available everytime I needed to talk to him. I didn't like the first caregiver for my mother. She ignored my mother. All day she just watched television and talked on the telephone. The second caregiver was better. She was very caring and loving to my mother. She still communicates to ask about my mom up until now.
