We chose Hunterdon Care Center for my mother-in-law because they have been very forthcoming, cooperative, and informative. They have a variety of activities and amenities. My mother-in-law's food is limited because of the way she has to eat, so she can't have normal foods, but what she has been given has been fine and acceptable. The staff that I met there were very friendly, open, helpful, very forthcoming, and honest. They have a salon, they don't have an actual library, but they have a book section. They have a large meeting room that's very bright and sunny. They have a large dining room and rec activity room that's also very, very bright and sunny. It's decorated cheerily, there are pictures of flowers and it's a nice, friendly, bright atmosphere.

Communications with social workers horrendous. My relative is a patient at Hunterdon Health Care currently and I can not wait until she is discharged. It is hard enough during COVID-19 not to be able to communicate face to face with your concerns without feeling you are being a burden. One social worker released records to an assisted living facility without informing me with a consent form to do so. Today, I called to get a status on insurance since my relative stay is over Medicare limited time, and I was told pretty much she is busy and since our Medicare appeal was denied my relative will have to pay. She had know idea that an underlying infection was detected and my relative was kept at the center due to a second diagnosis. I work in the medical system and I’m appalled by the their behavior.

My mom is in Hunterdon Care Center. They are a wonderful community and they're very kind to my mom and to all the patients. My mom's room is comfortable, but it's nothing fancy. The nightstand and dressers are kind of old, and she has a hospital bed, but the windows are pretty and look out over the backyard. It's a nice place, it just has older furnishings. The staff is phenomenal and incredible. My mom's birthday was yesterday and they tied balloons to her wheelchair, and the activities people came and sang for her. It's the kind of place that as you get to know the people, you kind of feel that they're your family. There's a security in knowing that Mom has all this help. The activities are great and they have so many things, like Bingo, church services, arts and crafts, they have groups that come in and entertain and play games. They also have a hair salon and a store where the patients can come and shop. It's not a fancy center, it's an older building, but they do an incredible job. They let you pick from off a menu and the kitchen staff is very friendly. They get to know the patients and they care. The food is very well-balanced.

My dad is in Hunterdon Care Center. We chose it because of the rating of the facility. It just received an award, and they have a doctor on staff 18 hours a day. They have more registered nurses and more aides per patients than any other facility I went to. It is very clean, and they have more activities for the residents. They have jeopardy afternoon everyday that the residents can go in and play. They also have trivia pursuit. They have a gardening club, movies, and exercise classes. They also have a very nice patio where the residents will be able to go if they want to. The staff is easy to approach. The administration even comes out and talks to us. They actually help to put my father in a car to go to a doctor's appoint, which I think is pretty amazing.

Our Mom was a resident of Hunterdon Care Center for 4 years. She thrived so well there with friends she met and the care of excellent loving and friendly staff. Her health declined over this past year and rapidy since Septemver. The love ,compassion and excellent care she was given was truely a God send. We alwaysvfelt we could go to any staff member with a concern or a question and it was addressed immediately and any changes that needed to be made were done swiftly and with great care of our Mom their first priority. Her every need was met with love and compassion right to her passing. As a family we were supported through every step of Moms journey to heaven. I would like to that every staff member who was involved in Moms care from nursing , the aides who assisted her every single day .dietary, housekeeping, pt ,social workers and volunteers ..From our whole hearts thank you for caring our most precious gift ..our Mother ?

My father was at Hunterdon Care Center for a short period of time. We did not care for that at all. It was scantily staffed, and I found that they were not responsive to the needs of the patients; not only with my father, but the other patient in the room. He was often late for his physical therapy appointments due to the fact that nobody could come in to discontinue his oxygen. The room was clean, but it was just typical. It wasn’t anything fancy. The other thing that I didn’t like about the facility is that the entire 20 days that my father was there, he was never encouraged to walk. He was completely wheelchair-bound, and had no assistance with ambulation. There was nothing that impressed me at all. I don’t think they put in a large effort at rehabing the patients as much as they should.

My husband went into Hunterdon Care Center. It was very clean. They were very caring. They stayed right on top of everything. The rooms were adequate, but they were not meant for long-term care. They had physical and occupational therapy. They had game rooms people could go to, if they had the ability. I liked the ease of going there. It was well located for us. I liked the friendliness of the care on the patients.

My mom has been placed at Hunterdon Care Center. She needed long-term care and not assisted living. It is near our home. As for the staff, some wonderful and some are not so wonderful. The room is fine. She is in a private room, so she is perfectly fine. There is a dining room for people who can feed themselves, and it is very nice. However, the dining room where my mom is in is not so nice because they're trying to feed everybody. They have the usual activities like other place has. Security is very good. However, the aides need to improve. Some of the nurses are wonderful, and some are not so pleasant, so I think they need to improve on personal aspect of it -- the one-on-one, and not just the number. They need to improve on the personal touch.

If you care about an elderly parent don't send them here. They wait forever when pressing for a nurse. End up with bed sores. The aides are not nice to the patient unless a visitor is present. Not once did anyone turn my parent when I was there. And we were present for hours at a time.

After visiting several rehabilitation centers in Hunterdon county I decided on HCC for my mother. I liked that it was relatively small and separate from nursing home. The nurses, PT staff and Pt doc was excellent. They all went above and beyone to care for my mother.
