I was touring different facilities in Fargo-Moorhead. It's a much smaller facility and I just felt it was kind of more homey. It felt right when I walked in. They have an efficiency mostly and then a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom. Dad is going to move into an efficiency and he just needs one room. It's like a very large bedroom. It is just for sleeping in because he'll be doing the eating and everything else out in the community room. Dad can't prepare food or do anything like that on his own. So, it's strictly a bedroom with no kitchen or anything like that. The dementia is a locked unit. So when you go in, it has a hallway with the apartments, and in the middle of that is a community room where they do activities. They also eat there. Then down at the end of the hallway, they have a TV room for watching TV. So, that's all Dad needs because he doesn't do much else. Carmen was the executive director. She was very good and she gave us our tours twice. The room is very clean. A lady lived in the room for 15 years before she died so they're going to wash all the walls and repaint them and then clean the carpet. It had a lot of spots on it (food spots). So, they're either going to replace it or clean it. They have to use the special cleaners regulated by the state for spillage and that kind of stuff.
