Sleep med that will work for my 95yr old grandma?

Allfiredup asked...

I am the primary caregiver for my 95-year-old grandmother. She has been having sleep issues for about the last 18 months. She has been on the following medications during that time (in chronological order)-

Celexa 20mg (worked for about few months)

Restoril 15mg (for about six weeks) then increased dosage Restoril 30mg (worked for a few more months but became totally ineffective)

Seroquel 25mg (tried it for less than a week and I discontinued due to side effects)

Lunesta 2mg (worked for about three months, then increased dosage) Lunesta 3mg (little difference compared to 2mg, tried for about six weeks)

Ativan 0.5mg (currently trying and it's having little effect) Ativan 1.0mg would be the next step but I have concerns about the risks (esp. fall risk)

The difficult thing is that when she doesn't sleep, I don't sleep! She gets up at all hours of the night (11pm, 1am, 3am....) and automatically thinks that it's time to get up! She has fallen numerous times and it has always been during the night, so I usually don't try to sleep at night. Now that she gets up at all hours thinking that it's time for breakfast, I just try to get my sleep as I can during the daytime.

Any advice on meds I should mention to the doctor, other possible sleep aids or anything else will be appreciated!
