I am a friend or relative of resident
RN/owner makes a decent first impression of caring, knowing what he is talking about and of being on the premises. Promises are undelivered, however. There is no exercise program or social activity, as offered while touring. The residents are fairly comatose and stay in their rooms all day and night. The great room remains largely unused. The menus that are posted are not what is served at all. Staff barely speak English, are mostly very young and are ill-equipped to handle people with serious/end stage life issues. (Staff did not notice that the O2 tank had run out of oxygen on three occasions.) Benign neglect describes the staff's best level of care to patients as well as their attention to cleanliness of the group home.

I visited this facility
This is a beautiful 7500 square foot home. From the location there are great views of the mountains and surrounding areas. The yard surrounds the home and is walled in. In this yard are walking trails with greenery and there is also a nice pool. There is a large shaded patio for residents. The owner himself is a licensed RN. He employs 13 certified caregivers who rotate shifts. There are 3 caregivers on days and afternoons and one at night. The owner is there five days a week and on call 24/7. He owns another home in neighborhood which is more independent living as well. This man seems very caring and concerned for his residents and so does the staff. The inside of the house is very well set up and decorated. It is very clean. It has a large sitting/living room and area for recreation. They have a geriatric doctor on staff who comes in and on call. They have a hairdresser who comes in. They provide transport to appointments, shopping, and outings. The caregivers who are off duty take turns doing this or he does. They have delicious home cooking and a great variety for meals. It is nourishing and they also have an array of snacks available. This owner nis extremely persistent to encourage these residents to participate in activities. He believes this is a big key to staying healthy and happy. All the residents are encouraged to participate in a daily exercise program and current events after. They are allowed their leisure time to watch movies or television or what they choose. He states he trys to have entertainment seversl times a week with bbqs, parties, outside and inside games and they have sin a longs twice a week. The families are encouraged to visit and participate. There are also planned outings. This is one of the nicest and most well managed smaller assisted living facilities I have visited. The staff is very impressive with their care. The best thing I liked was their activity program as well as their food.
