My mom will stay at Parkside Assisted Living & Memory Care for two weeks. She felt very comfortable there. It was really intimate and very clean. The staff was very, very friendly and very accommodating. They followed up well. The price was good, and the fact that she was able to be there for two weeks because most of the other places wanted the minimum to be a month, was a plus. It was right in our neighborhood, very close to the hospital. So, it was one of the best ones that we saw. The person who took us on the tour was very friendly, and very easy to talk to. She answered all our questions. She was very knowledgeable. I didn't have a problem at all conversing with her. She asked questions about us and gave us a lot of information, things we didn't even think about that we would need for my mother to stay there. She took us around and introduced my mom to some of the residents. She did exactly what we expected her to do.

I toured Parkside Assisted Living & Memory Care. It's a nice community. It's very homelike in its atmosphere. I like the layout in the neighborhood; very convenient common areas close by to the room so that people can get together. The food looked great, and the staff was kind, friendly, and approachable. From a short tour perspective, they were very thorough and nice. I did not try the food. We were there while several people were eating, and it looked and smelled great. I did talk to their head chef and he was nice and very flexible in menu selections. My mother has favorite items and he has multiple recipes for her favorite items available to him. They have a hairdresser that comes in onsite and a shuttle bus to go wherever (shopping trips). They have a beauty salon, a courtyard, and a screened in outdoor area. They have open neighborhood common areas in the facility that are very convenient, and the shopping trips would be a real attraction.

I took Mom to Parkside Assisted Living & Memory Care for respite care. It was clean. The rooms were unfinished and there was no homey look at all to it and had not anything to be desired in it. They never gave mom any of the meds that had to go with her. She did not get any of them. The whole time she was there, she came back with the same amount as she went with. She was wounded by one of the people that took care of her there. He helped put mom into bed and grabbed her leg so hard that his nails went through her skin. So she had to be under wound care. They did little trivia-type games and little things like that, but they didn't include everybody. The food was not good. They need to hire someone who is knowledgeable about taking care of older people. They should just be more equipped to handle people with with needs.

We did a tour of Parkside Assisted Living & Memory Care. When we went in we were met by the concierge; she was very polite. We had a seat and waited for the director, who then went through everything about the facility, and then she gave us a tour. It was extremely clean. We met the chef. She showed us both types of rooms and how the family can come in and have private gatherings as opposed to the public gatherings. There was a nice outdoor area that was screened in with a view of the lake, and there were ducks there. They do have pets. Overall, I thought it was very welcoming. It wasn't noisy. We went to the kitchen, the residents were eating, and the chef was right there explaining everything to them and greeted us. I thought it was very clean, it smelled good, and everybody looked really happy. It's one big room, and it has the closets and a full bathroom, walk in shower, and everything. They had a linen closet, and they had two dressers in there. This one was just a studio room. It was very clean and nice, and all the aides and everybody were very polite and accommodating. I liked the size of the rooms and the way they were laid out. The staff was very nice and came up and greeted me. They respond when someone walks in the room and greets them and were there for the residents as well.

I was impressed with Parkside Assisted Living & Memory Care. I had a very good tour there. It looked very clean and they had plenty of staff. Some of them were volunteers. It is three floors. We went up and down by elevator. Kim was the lady that guided us around, and she was very positive in showing us the different styles of rooms that were available.

I loved Parkside Assisted Living & Memory Care. It was wonderful. The people there were so cordial (I even met some of the residents). It was very clean, well-kept, and everybody seemed happy. I got to see the activity rooms, the calendar, and everything that's going on there. I saw people that seemed to be happily involved in activities. The staff was nice and friendly.

I visited Parkside Assisted Living & Memory Care. It was a positive experience. We were talking about memory care there and some Medicaid. It was very nice and very clean. I liked Laura, the director, very much. She's very nice and very transparent as to what was going on, and she was very informative. The rooms looked very nice. Maintenance and upkeep looked good to me.

We are going to have my mom go here. As you walk in, it's clean and nice, and the people are cordial. That place has also been recommended to me by a nurse friend that I have. They were good. They took us on a tour of the various floors. All of the floors have kind of a big great room area. There's a sofa, a big-screen TV, and an area where people can have access to a kitchen. That's also where they bring the food to serve it. There was a girl that was talking to the people. People were sitting around on sofas, they were on walkers and wheelchairs, and they were asking questions like, 'Who was the first man to land on the moon?' The people seemed to be engaged in a number of kinds of activities. The rooms were high ceilings, which made it feel like it was bigger. They all have 11-foot ceilings. There is an area set up as a living room, they got a sink and a microwave, and then they've got a bathroom. It's a fairly new building, probably four years old. They got a nice outside area where there's a pond; there were people sitting there. It's very accessible because Harbor Boulevard and Olean are both fairly popular roads. Of the ones that we looked at, it was the closest to where I live and where my sister lives. It's probably less than 10 miles for both of us because it's a 20-minute ride probably. I like the fact that it was handy and there is a lot of parking for visitors. Those were the few reasons why we chose it. They have two things there: They have assisted living neighborhood as they call them, and they have a memory care neighborhood. There are three floors. They had shared rooms that they showed us as their model rooms, and they had private rooms. We're picking a private room just because we don't have that element if you get along with the person and do they get along with you because you've got plenty of opportunities to go out and see people. The staff who gave me the tour was cordial and knowledgeable, and she followed up. It's clean and it seems like a pleasant atmosphere.
