I am a friend or relative of resident
I have visited my loved one here several times to see other residents being mistreated. Staff do not engaged the residents in what is on the calendar for activities. Some activities are food related, and others are movies. When I come to visit, I always see residents staring into the tv, no activities seem to engage them anymore. In the past year things have really seemed to change. I am not welcomed by smiles on staff's face. They seem to be stressed out and understaffed. There used to be a handful of woman and a few men doing care on residents. I see two or three staff members for all of the residents.I see staff running trying to please residents- but there is just to many needs for the residents to be met and they are being met but in a properly manner. I feel the staff needs more training in dealing with tbi. They are often short and quick tempered when addressing a select few residents. Physical therapy and the promise to have an on call doctor is promised. This is just not the case. They have a nurse most of the times but often they too are overwhelmed with the residents needs. The building could use updating too. I haven't seen a maintenance person up keeping the facility like I used to in the past. Its a shame it used to be a beautiful welcoming place. Now it has lost its appeal and looks like it could really use some fresh paint and some repairs. I am considering moving my loved one to a facility that upholds their promise to better my loved one. Please visit this facility a few times before making any decisions. I wish I family had had the opportunity to do so.

I am a friend or relative of resident
Having been to the original rose meadow on several occasions for visits to a family member, i would have to say that the facility is falsely advertising what support they provide to the residents. They do not have on staff doctors. And i have yet to see ant patient recieve physical therapy. What I have witnessed is a staff that is comprised of people who cannot comprehend the emotional and physical limitations that the residents are dealing with. The staff doesn't seem interested in taking any action that would help advance the patients with their physical and mental challenges. I have noticed that most patients seem to be sliding into a decline of worsening physical and mental abilities. The facility may tout in home speech and physical therapists, but that is simply not the case. What I have witnessed: the more severe the tbi is the less support they receive from the staff. I have, with my own eyes and ears, witnessed the staff complaining about having to "deal" with these difficult residents. What i took away from my experiences with Rose meadow: understaffed ( which results in patients lying in their own urine and feces for hours [or continuously falling down as they are constantly left alone for long periods of time] staff under paid (and therefore not willing to do their best), unable to deal with severe tbi even though they claim to be a tbi facility, no training of staff to ensure the best prognosis of patients, ad nauseum. We have moved our family member out of rose meadow and hope by this posting any family with a loved one there or considering the facility as an option, you will think twice.

Rose meadow isn't the normal assisted living facility. It's located on an old renovated farm. The old farm house was converted to aid the handicapped and they did a very nice job. This particular facility is dedicated to people who have had traumatic brain injuries and s set up for rehabilitation. The nicest thing about the facilities is that it's a house and each patient has their own bedroom, with a communal living room, kitchen and all kinds of space outdoors. I think it helps greatly that they aren't in a hospital setting even though they are equip ed for any emergency and the staff doctors are on hand for regular checkups and meetings on the patients progress. The facility cares for only 11 patients at a time and I believe the staff numbered between 20-25. The staff seemed very caring and friendly and the entire facility was very clean and well kept.Aside from the regular rehabilitation and special equipment and whirlpool baths for the patients they also seemed to have a pretty extensive recreational activities from inside games and activities to outside activities on the large grounds.Obviously having someone you care about in any facility is never a great experience but when you know they are well taken care of in a very comfortable home like setting like Rose Meadow then it makes it all a little more bearable.
