The Veranda of Pensacola is very nice. They had a swimming pool. I would live there in a heartbeat. They had two bedrooms and a nice-sized living room. They had a little bit bigger kitchen area. I really liked it. The whole atmosphere was good. They have a beautiful entrance and a nice dining room. All are on the first floor. It's all light and airy when you go in. The staff was great. They were helping people in the dining room and doing what they could. They had a little area where you could play cards. Everything was really good there.

After watching the staff decorate for Christmas this week this week I realized that this will be my 10th Christmas at Veranda. I am so fortunate to be able to live in a place where people really try to make things nice and to make my life better thank you to the staff And my fellow residents at Veranda

This review is for the nurses and nursing staff at Veranda of Pensacola. My mother is in assisted living at this facility and we are so impressed with all of the nurses and helpers in this facility. They are on the ball they make sure that they take care of anything that you ask of them and they do it promptly with a smile. My mother is so enjoying all of their attention, and so is the family. While I am praising the nursing staff, I also would like to add a word for all of the staff and support staff at the Veranda. They are excellent and are very caring. If I could give them 10 stars, I would! Thanks to all of you, Sarah-and judy

My mom was at Veranda of Pensacola for almost three years. It was perfect. I wish she could have stayed there forever. They were wonderful. Very community-oriented, very caring, and wonderful activities. It was like family there, but my mother needed deeper and more care, so we had to move on to memory care, so that's the only reason she left. The nursing staff was great there. The kitchen staff was wonderful. The activities director was engaging. Before my mom moving to memory care, she was doing tons of activities there. They had a lot of outings, they had a lot of events occurring there, they had an indoor heated swimming pool, and they had in-house physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. It was a great place. They were very attentive. Any time anything happened, they would contact me immediately. My mom gained 50 pounds. I sat with her several times when I would go to pick her up for lunch, but she would decide to go to the dining room and eat instead of waiting for me. So, I think she enjoyed the food very much. My mom had one of the larger rooms. She had a two-bedroom-two-bathroom room with a balcony overlooking the garden and a pool. It was large and beautiful. It had a kitchenette. There was no garbage disposal or stove. Because she didn't need as much assistance, she was able to have a coffee pot, a toaster oven, and a microwave. It was lovely. The only negative (and it's not their fault but I think it's because it's a little older), they had carpeting as opposed to vinyl plank flooring. Carpeting is very difficult to keep clean, so I think having hard flooring is probably much better for a community because it is easier to clean.

Veranda of Pensacola is a great place. It looks like it has a great program. They showed us everything. They gave us a full tour. They have a pool, an exercise room, a dining room, and a meeting room. They have several things over there. The staff who gave us the tour was great. They explained everything. They're very patient.

I did a tour of the Veranda of Pensacola. It was perfect, they're nice. They have 1 and 2-bedroom apartments, it's very big. The staff were very helpful and nice. They have everything, including movies.

My mother is in the Veranda of Pensacola. It's pretty awesome. Nice place, nice apartment. They have great food and the services have been really good. If there are any problems, they give me a call. So, they've done excellent. It's been a good experience so far. I think we put her in May or June. She went to respite first and then she went inside, so it's been good. They have several things going on with shopping, they have people come in and entertain, have a huge area up front where you come in, and they have a movie theater. They have an indoor swimming pool for therapies. Outdoor, they have a couple of koi ponds, with a gazebo. The one favorite for some of them is they have their happy hour thing and all that. So I think it's been a good fit for her.

Veranda of Pensacola was very nice. The manager was extremely cordial. She made a point of ensuring that we had a really nice tour, despite my mom's mobility issues. She took the time to have me go into the office, explain everything, and ask my mom questions. They had a koi pond and a pool. It was just that the price was out of our price range.

I toured Veranda of Pensacola and it's very nice. It's much newer than any of the others. I watched it being built. The layout is Southern, and their food is excellent. The staff is very nice and mostly young. They have a movie theater, a swimming pool, a weight room, and very large grounds with sidewalks and little cupolas where you can get in and out of the sun. I've had several meals there. They have a chef and he's excellent.

I went to Veranda of Pensacola. They have independent and assisted living. They're very nice, very helpful, and very sweet. They have one, and two-bedroom apartments. Some of them have a small patio that's screened in. It's very clean. It had a very welcoming atmosphere when you first walked in. They have social hours. They have a very nice looking dining room, and they serve three meals a day. The chef has been there since 2009, so they have a stable staff. Sandy, the manager, has experience in geriatric care, and she is a nurse. The first two levels are independent and the third level is assisted living. They have physical therapy rehab there, a beautiful indoor pool, a very small putting green, a gazebo, a little walking path with koi ponds, a craft room, chair yoga, a small library, and a movie theater, and that's where they do the church as well as hold meetings. They have a beauty parlor there. Everybody seemed very warm, friendly, and inviting. There were some ladies playing cards, and they invited us to sit down and play. The apartments were about a little over 600 square feet. They're one-bedroom, one-bath, with a full kitchen and a living room. The only thing they did not have is a washer and dryer in the actual apartment. They had a washer dryer at the end of each hallway. I like that you could move up to assisted living from the independent living. It's just one floor up. The manager was very supportive. She sent my mother a whole bunch of information and pictures. She's very welcoming. The grounds were very pretty.

I went to look at the Veranda of Pensacola. They had all the services. They have a pool. It is a beautiful facility. The staff was excellent. They have a microwave and a refrigerator. There was no washer and dryer. They had balconies, courtyards, and a gazebo outside.

Very nice facility and great staff! However, during the middle of a Pandemic my father had a stroke and while he was in the hospital and I was told that I had to move my parents out of the Veranda due to a decline in my mother's mental state. During the Pandemic they were confined to their 1000 sq foot room with no stimulation or exercise for 2 months...not a surprise as anyone would have declined. Also, I found out after she moved to my house that my mom had phenomena while she was at the Veranda that was not diagnosed...no wonder she wasn't herself. What was so insensitive was that at one point I was told by Kim that they had to move out the next day because someone already had their room (a room that that we paid for the rest of that month). Unbelievable that they would do that to residents they PRETEND to care about. So during my father's time in the hospital; I had to move my parents things out of the Veranda into a pod, move my mother into my house for almost a month while my father was recovering in the hospital, find an agency to watch my mother while I visited my father in the hospital, find a new facility with memory care (not able to tour any due to Covid-19 made it impossible) and move them back into a new place after he was released. This whole experience was a total nightmare that shows total insensitivity to their residents and family especially during a pandemic...management only cares about the bottom line!

Veranda of Pensacola was very nice but it was just a little too far out of the way. The rooms are smaller. They have a swimming pool and an exercise room. The staff was very nice.

We visited Veranda of Pensacola for a party. A friend of ours had his birthday party there, but we didn't eat the food. We just had cookies and punch. I saw their room, and I was impressed because they had a 2-bedroom and a little kitchenette, which was very nice. They said the food was good, but it was the same thing too often. According to my friends, the activities are very good. They have a movie theater, a pool, outside activities, and they have a bus that takes the people wherever they want to go. With the little experience I had there, the staff was very attentive, making sure that you had a drink, and if you needed to go to the bathroom, they would take you and show you where it was. They had a supply of cookies and doughnuts for the people. They would bring them to the table, which I thought was nice, because a lot of people just don't want to get up when there's entertainment. The facility was very clean and well laid out. The first floor was for people who can do things for themselves and the second floor was for elderly care.

My mother is in Veranda of Pensacola. It's very nice and clean. The staff is very friendly. They do something every week, like a luau and scrapbooking classes. They don't do a lot of activities during the summer; they start back up in the fall. They have a theater and a hair salon.

Veranda of Pensacola was quite attractive. It's got an ambience that looked comfortable and well cared for. One thing that I really liked was that the rooms were considerably larger than any of the other places. It had two-bedroom apartments, and the second bedroom was just as the big as the first one. It was more expensive, but you get your money's worth because of the good quality and wide variety of amenities. They had numerous activities available, an indoor swimming pool, a gymnasium, and exercise programs. It was head and shoulders above any other place.

I signed at Veranda since it’s the best one I have seen. I didn’t see anything wrong with the nice staff. The rooms were spacious and had a kitchen and refrigerator. The dining room was restaurant-style, and you could choose what food you want and the food was very good.

Didn't even call the family members when my Dad passed. I do know my mom was told by the hospice nurse that the veranda nurses where not keeping my dad clean. My mom was afraid to complain as the hospice nurse suggested because they might be mean to her.

In every visit that we’ve had at Veranda of Pensecola, all the people have been very helpful, very nice, and seem to go out of their way to make sure that Mom will be comfortable when she gets there. We’re looking forward to her getting over there and hopefully making some new friends and everything working out very well. The only thing different there that we didn’t find anywhere else was they have a pool. They’ll get her moving in the pool, which is a big thing because she has osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, so she’s hunched over and movement is very hard for her. She’ll be able to go and get therapy in the pool twice a week and that’s going to be very good because she’s having such a hard time getting around and up and down especially, and this could possibly keep her out of the wheelchair a little longer. I haven’t eaten there yet, but we’ve been there a couple of times when they were serving breakfast and looked at their menu. All of the residents we talked to said the food was outstanding. In the assisted living, the rooms had a refrigerator and a microwave, and she is going to have a bedroom, a separate sitting area, and a handicap-friendly bathroom, so it makes it easier for her getting in and out of there, take showers, and use the facilities. It was very nice.

Veranda of Pensacola is awesome. They have enclosed little patios where the tenants can put their plants out. They have a heated indoor swimming pool, and a little fish pond that has some Koi fish in it. They have a very nice dining hall. They have a big theater room where they watch movies. They take their tenants to their doctors’ appointments three times a month. They take them to grocery, and shopping centers. The staff was excellent. I love their rooms. The facility is very clean. When I need to go to an assisted-living myself, I think I would go to this facility.

It was excellent. If ever my husband and I get to that point, we're going to go to the Veranda of Pensacola. It was top of the line in this area, and it's absolutely beautiful. It had an indoor pool and a putting green out in the back. I also liked the lady that walked me around. Everything was just topnotch.

The Veranda was recommended and I visited it. It was a beautiful place; I was very impressed with it but I didn't feel my father would fit in there. It was very professional, well-cared for and it felt good. The staff was very helpful; they showed me what I needed and they answered my questions. The rooms were very nice. I saw the one-bedroom apartment. It was adequate. The food smelled good and looked good. The dining room is gorgeous.

Veranda of Pensacola is like an active retirement community. It was very neat and clean. The people seemed very nice. They serve three meals a day. In addition, they have lots of activities like exercise, tours, and different games like bingo. There's also a swimming pool and a movie theater.

The Veranda is a beautiful place, but it's very expensive for me. It's the most beautiful place in Pensacola to stay. It's the best place. You just need to pay your monthly fees and it includes meals. They have one or two bedroom apartments with full bathroom and kitchen. The whole is gorgeous and huge.

My name is Matt and The Veranda Retirement Independent and Assisted Living community was the place my family and I choose for placement for my grandmother. She was starting to get a little older and was unable to get around her house as well as she once was. She was still wanting to be independent, but not have to worry about doing the lawn service on her own and needed light help around the house. A nursing home was the last place my family or I wanted to put her, but upon a friends advice we looked into the Veranda. The community itself is beautiful and offers plenty of social activities, as well as, scheduled transportation to doctors visits and dry cleaning pick up. My grandmother was still able to keep independence with just a helping hand occasionally when one of the family members was not around. The staff is always courteous and willing to help with anything possible. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for just help occasionally or more advanced care. The staff is friendly and willing to go over and beyond the duties of their job.

On 2010 My husband and I had to chose an assisted living facility or nursing home for my mother in law, although she needs 24/7 supervision due to psychiatric issues she is only 64 years old and we wanted a place that would give the comfort and amenities of any other apartment complex. After visiting a couple other places this facility really caught our attention, above all the staff the gave us the tour was extremely friendly and helpful. The facility offered more than 3 types of apartments and the choice to have a ""roommate"" to share the space with my mother-in-law or not, they offered transportation to doctors appointments and other activities as such, offered classes such as painting and knitting,a library and ""movie theater"" on site. It was exactly what we were looking for and a bit more, looked like any other apartment complex,so she would not feel like we put her in a nursing home and had people to assist her at all times, she would also have no need to cook if she did not want to since they offer 3 meals daily, she would enjoy heated swimming pools and interact with other people. Overall this place made us feel much more at ease about putting her on a assisted living facility and she definitively liked the place. It does not come at a low cost but is really worth it.
