I visited this facility

We had an in-person tour of Rosecastle of Citrus. We liked it a lot. We were going to try to get my relative in there, but it's more expensive. The staff members were nice, professional, and friendly. They have activities. Everyone looked like they were comfortable, and they were pretty much roaming around freely. I like the facility a lot. They had a lot of grounds there. They have gardens and pathways you can walk on. There are a lot of animals that come around there, and people could go out and take pictures of them. It's very beautiful. They treat the people in memory care the same as the others. Memory care residents can roam the entire facility if someone's with them.

I visited this facility

Rosecastle of Citrus is an excellent facility. It's inviting, friendly, and warm. The clients are very happy with them. It's a younger generation that's running it, but they seem to know what they're doing. I would recommend it to anybody. They have a full array of activities for people. They seem to care on a very personal level, so they make sure that the people are engaged. They have meetings. They have a room in one of the wings with a chess table set up. I didn't find one person there that was not happy with being there. There are no smells, and it's clean. They have a kitchen for the clients. The clients went into the kitchen, baked goods, and gave them out to everybody. So when I went in, I got brownies and oatmeal cookies. It was amazing. They keep them active so that they don't lose any more skills, if possible. It's a single level, so it's one less thing to worry about in case of a power failure. The other thing which I found truly amazing was that outside each door, they have a shelf, and the person can put out a picture of themselves and their family. So if they get lost, all they have to do is walk down the halls and find their room. It's an amazing concept. I thought that was so innovative.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My brother is in a facility called Rosecastle of Citrus down in Lecanto, Florida and we've made arrangements for my mom to go down there so they can be together. We went down to visit with my brother 2 months ago, and he loves it there. It's been really good. We couldn't get Medicaid here to assist with the financing for my mom and down there we qualified with flying colors so we're moving her there. My brother is in their assisted living and my mom will be moving to their memory care. We were very impressed with the people and with the place, and he is very, very happy there. They made us feel so comfortable when we were down there visiting. The staff is very caring, they treat him like he is royalty and they love him. They went out of their way to make us happy during our visit. They made sure we were included in lunch while we were there and some of the activities that were going on that day. It was very nice and they were very, very helpful people. They come and bring his medicine and all. We had a really good lunch and everybody got involved and would make sure all the people had their lunches. They take the residents out to different events in the area. They've had a car show there. Every time I talk to him, they seem to have something going on for him. They do cookouts and they do all kinds of stuff. He's been there for 2 years now.

My friend is in Rosecastle of Citrus, and they're taking good care of her. The memory care section is small, but it's a great place for memory care. The food is good, and it's a very clean facility. The residents can get some sun, or a nice, hot bubble bath, and they have showers in every room. They keep them busy and active. I have no complaints. They have plenty of time for their residents. They call them family.

The people at Rosecastle of Citrus are very good to my mother. It's a nice place and I'm happy with it. She is in more of a studio, but they have one- and two-bedroom apartments. They play bingo, people come in for karaoke, and they're adding a gym. I would definitely recommend the place. The staff is very nice and caring. The place is clean and cheerful. My experience has been very positive. My mom is in a wheelchair and the van that takes people to doctors don't accommodate them, but they have everything in-house, like they have an optometrist that comes in.

My dad is happy at Rosecastle of Citrus. It’s very clean and well staffed. Everybody is really friendly. He doesn’t like the food. The community is around the corner from my mom, so she is familiar with it. They’re the most reasonably priced.

I visited this facility

We were very pleased with Rosecastle of Citrus. We interacted with the staff and were very pleased with them. The rooms looked very nice to us but not spacious, yet more than adequate. They weren't really crowded or cramped. The dining area looked very good. What we liked best was the interaction with the personnel. Everybody that we passed would speak to us and seemed very friendly and very caring.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Our loved-ones are in the memory care unit of Rosecastle of Citrus. They LOVE the food and feel very safe and comfortable there. They think they are on vacation. Their family and friends are comforted to know that they are very well attended by healthcare professionals who are kind, patient and understanding, and who are experienced in working with those suffering from dementia. The facility is very well appointed and maintained. It is especially nice that those in the memory unit have their own outside area. It is a very large park-like setting in which the residents can relax and enjoy Florida's balmy weather, but which is totally safe and secure. I, personally, am an attorney whose office is located in a 55+ community in another State. I have met with clients in a number of different senior-living facilities and have found that those that even compare to the Rosecastle environment charge 2 to 3 times more. I am grateful that my family members are able to reside at this facility and would highly recommend it to others faced with the need of a safe, secure and caring place for their loved one(s).

I am a friend or relative of resident

Since the facility has change ownership/name to Rosecastle of Citrus I have noticed a great deal of change with the care, and level of happiness of those that live there. Kim and Kelly, the directors of nursing are excellent. All needs of the residents are met immediately. Kim works endlessly to provide excellent care, keep the residents healthy and happy, and is everywhere at once. She is there to answer any questions family members may have, or to help the staff. I have seen her passing medications with or without other staff to help. I have seen her making beds, taking out garbage, and helping my mom to the bathroom. I feel comfortable knowing my mom is in the best hands possible, as long as Kim is there. I also have noticed EMS is never in the building anymore! Proof that whatever the staff is doing to get the residents healthy, is working. If anyone needs a place for their loved one, I encourage you to come to Rosecastle of Citrus. You will not be sorry!

We like how the rooms at looked at Rosecastle of Citrus, and that made us choose the place. It is large. The staff is fine and knowledgeable, and they do proper care. They have bingo and different activities. The dining area is fine, and everybody fits in there. There is no problem at all that I know of, and it’s very clean.

I am pleased with Nature Coast. The staff is good. They are taking care of my wife, and I have no complaints. They are up to date in all areas, and they have all sorts of activities.

I visited this facility

We were not that impressed with Nature Coast Lodge. It was strictly an assisted living and there were no nursing facility and no easy-living facility there. Nevertheless, it was a well-maintained and clean facility. Also, from my standpoint, the location was good. However, that's probably the only thing that we really like about it.

I visited this facility

We toured Nature Coast Lodge. The facility looked beautiful. The area was beautiful. The surroundings, where the residents might be able to walk, are absolutely beautiful. I spoke to one or two of the residents who actually lived there. They were coming out from dinner. They said it was very nice. They were very happy there. The people, the staff helping to see and give out the dinners looked very happy and jolly. What I didn't like about that place is we were able to just walk in. There was really no security. There was nobody at the front desk. Nobody stopped us. Nobody asked us who we were, what we were doing there. That, to me, when you don't have security, is a concern, especially when you have older people living in this facility. If any of the rooms were open, somebody could walk into a room, so that, I do not like. There seemed to be a security problem.

I can not say enough about this facility and the management and staff. Kirk, the director goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure his residents are safe and happy. Most of the CNA's and All of the LPN's and RN's that I have met are fabulous. The place is always spotless and smells so clean and inviting. It is set on a beautiful property with great views and plenty of birds and squirrels for the residents to watch. Beautiful screen patios are at the end of ever hall for residents to enjoy sitting outside to enjoy the views and serenity.

I visited this facility

I visited Nature Coast Lodge recently. They have been taken over by Living Ventures, the US extension of Living on the Avenues International Care Management group. This group is one of the best rated care management groups in the world and it shows. The staff was friendly, residents were happy, and everything seemed to run like clockwork. I saw a calendar with numerous activities on it and heard mention of new things being planned for expansion. I felt at home here and I would be happy to refer friends and relatives...OH and I also found out that the staff physician himself is there every week, not a PA. What a difference that made.

I visited this facility

Of all the facilities we visited I really like Nature Coast a lot. It's very nice and the staff was so accommodating. The rooms are bigger. The only problem though is that it's very far away from my mother's doctor and we don't want to go to a hassle of changing doctors and all that stuff. Personally, this place is really my choice for my mom.

I visited this facility

This facility was absolutely beautiful! there were activities going on all the time for the residents! All the rooms looked like bedrooms in a home instead of a clinical facility. The residents all looked happy, clean and well taken care of. There was staff everywhere to ensure that everyone was taken care of. The facility had a locked unit that I was not able to tour, but the main part of the facility was very homey. All in all a wonderful place.
