Residents complain about the food and have for a long time. Not getting any better. Property is old and getting run down. Staff just seems to be putting in their time and do not appear to care about the residents. Some of the maintenance issues are dangerous to the residents. Place now appears about half empty as residents are moving out in large numbers.

Apartments are large and layout nicely. The staff is very friendly. There are a lot of different activities available. I have learned calligraphy since being here. I am a stroke survivor and it has given me confidence in my handwriting.

I loved Hampton Apartments. I'm looking for a two-bedroom and their two-bedroom was 1200 square feet with a huge master bathroom, a Jacuzzi bathtub, and a separate shower. The living room was a nice size. They only have 15 meals per month, but it's got a full-size kitchen and a bar area in the apartment. The lady showed me the one that overlooks the bay, so it's got a water view. It was beautiful. The employees were very knowledgeable and very nice.

My tour of The Hampton at Clearwater was a pleasant experience. It was a clean and nice facility with very polite staff. They showed us a 1-bedroom apartment, they showed us the cafeteria or the restaurant, the library, the media room, and the main lobby. The apartments were excellent, very up to code, and very modern. They were in the process of upgrading the facility, they were under some elevator construction at the time and were refurbishing all the rooms and the lobby area. So they were doing a good job of keeping up with things. The dining area was clean, it was like a normal restaurant with nothing major, they seem to have a nice major. I was there on a weekend so there were no programs or anything going on at the time. The staff members that I met were all nice and friendly.

I went to visit The Hampton at Clearwater, but nobody was there to meet me. They just told me to walk around, which I thought was really weird. It's a really high end-looking hotel-like facility. I don't know if that's how they do it, but it's more independent. I think they have memory care or assisted living on site. From what I saw, it was nice (except that I can walk around and do what I please). The appearance of the place was really nice. They have a pool and what I saw was very updated. It's a little higher end in pricing, and they only do 15 meals (rather than the full 30). I didn't like that I have to pay extra for that. There was a little pamphlet there that I took. It gave me all of the info in regards to moving in. It was kind of convenient since no one was there, and I still could get some info. I would suggest having somebody on-site for tours for the weekend. I work during the week, and I can't tour during the week. That would be a nice addition to have the weekend tours for people who work. It's very clean and looks really nice. They have a pool, and the landscaping and everything looks really nice and kept up.

I would move to Hampton at Clearwater in a minute. It's clean, the people are good, the apartments are nice and there's laundry on every floor. I like it, I just can't afford it. It's close to Tampa Airport, close to shopping and beaches. It's a perfect place; they have amenities and 24/7 valet parking.

Run from this place. My family flew in explicitly to tour this place and it was confirmed several times. The leasing director was a no-show and never called, e-mailed, or provided a replacement to show us the place. The lone woman at the front desk was nasty. We flew into two airports, half of us picking my mother up in Ft. Lauderdale and driving 5 1/2 hrs. We met the others there to encounter this. I received a message from this leasing director 3 days later saying 'Sorry I couldn't be there. Give me a call.' Are you kidding? Previously she had even barked at me when I said I would mail the application documents early in case something more was needed before we arrived. She didn't want the inconvenience of it not being perfect the first time. There was no doubt in our minds that in the event of a hurricane, people's loved ones would be on their own.

My visit to Hampton at Clearwater was very good and the people were nice. The only problem is that I have a parrot and I have had him for 26 years, but they only allow cats and dogs. They think that if I could make him a service animal, then I could take him with me. They showed me two different rooms, a 1-bedroom and a 2-bedroom. They showed me around the community and it was really nice, plus the price was reasonable too. It's not really an assisted living place, it's more or less a place where people can rent a unit and stay there. It's very clean, each place has a patio that you can go out onto, it has a pool, a library, and everything a person would need to continue living. When my friend was staying there they had a birthday party and we ate at the restaurant. The cleanliness and facilities were very good, except I think they should allow people to keep birds. In my case, I can't be without this bird because he has been a very good companion since my husband died. If I had a choice among all the places I saw, I would take the Hampton because I know the place and I know the people. This place is lovely, I'm an artist, and they have a room where you can go and have painting lessons.

If I ever decided to go to an independent place, I would go to The Hampton at Clearwater. It's very nice. I give it 100%. It's a very bright looking and extremely clean place. The residents were very friendly, and the woman at the concierge was very obliging. The salesperson showed us the different things that they have. It is a very well-run place. I met the art teacher in the art room while she was giving lessons. She showed us the craft room where you can make things with wood. The dining room was excellent and beautiful. They had a flexible eating arrangement. Whether you have the one- or two-bedroom, you can have 15 meals or above. I watched the people walking in and out going to the store and coming back with groceries; they looked happy. It's right next to Eckerd Hall, and the people who live at The Hamptons get half price on the shows there.

The Hampton at Clearwater is wonderful. It is clean, and it meets my needs. It offers me independence but gives me help and assistance if I need it. The staff is really friendly, very knowledgeable, and they answer any questions I might have. I just got here, so the only thing I was able to do was play bingo, meet some of the ladies, and go to a coffee function. The food is excellent and I like the variety, but I can also cook my own meals.

We are moving to Hampton on Saturday. The apartments are very big, clean, and wonderful. I haven't had any problems at all, and we love it.

The Hampton at Clearwater was OK. The only problem we had there was that, in every place we went to, they always offered us either a complimentary coffee or lunch, and Hampton didn't offer anything besides a bottle of water. We traveled over two hours to get to this place, and the representative who took us around knew that, but she just offered us a bottle of water. If you're going to live in a place like that, you also want to know what the food is going to be like. She just showed us the dining area, but we weren't offered anything at all, so how can you judge if you want to stay in a place if you don't know what the food is like? The layout was OK, but they have shelving in the rooms which I wouldn't love because it takes up space. I like something with a view, and she showed us a unit with a balcony, but the balcony overlooked a car park. The description on the ad said they have panoramic views and you could see the Tampa Bay but you couldn't see the bay at all. It was miles away in the distance. You can see something blue, which you knew was the sea or the bay, but the description was totally wrong. It really wasn't for us at all.

We looked at The Hampton, which was very nice. The reason we didn’t choose this one was because they were strictly independent living, and we were afraid that if my mother-in-law needed more, then we would have to move her. However, we like The Hampton very much. The staff was very nice. The people that live there made a point to come up and tell us how happy they were there and how much they enjoy this place. We went to the activity center, and all the people in there were very happy. The apartments were lovely. They were large apartments, and they all had a screened-in porch, which was very nice. They did have cards, music, arts, and sewing. Anything anybody wanted to do, they have activities on all levels.

The Hampton was lovely and they were so charming. I looked at a two-bedroom, two-bath unit and the monthly fee is less than the entry fee for other places. They only require one month’s rental deposit. The room overlooks the pool. Also, it was ten minutes from me and my daughter. Overall, it was very convenient. The people who interviewed me were very charming -- there was no pressure and I was very pleased with them.

I am waiting until Spring to move to The Hampton at Clearwater. The place is really nice. The rooms were of good size. You don't get a meal a day but you do get 15 meals a month and you can purchase more if you want to. The people there seemed to be very happy and they offer a lot of activities.

The Hampton is very nice, I think they serve two meals a day and the facility is very good. I liked the location very much because it's near the concert hall where we liked to go to hear some concerts. They have very nice and spacious, rooms that looked comfortable.

The Hampton had a nice pool, and the place was really nice. The staff was really friendly and nice too. They wanted us to move in and I think they called to see if I had sold my house already.

The Hampton was one of the places we visited when were looking for an independent living facility for my parents. They have a very nice, clean place. The staff were very good and I'm more likely to have my parents stay there.
