I am/was a resident of this facility

I purchased a condo there in summer on second floor with a lake golf course view. I think this place is really peaceful and the view I have is terrific. The golf course a pitch and putt if kept up everyday and the pools also. I think this place is a best kept secret. I have an open porch two bedroom washer dryer in unit. Highly recommend to purchase.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm in a 55-plus community which I inherited from my late parents. It's called Leisure Village. The appearance is very beautiful. We have seven lakes here, we have an exercise room, and we have a hall to use when we gather or function a party. Overall, I just don't like where I'm at, and I don't want to be in New Jersey anymore. We have a golf course where we can play golf. I'm not an avid golfer, so it doesn't impress me. The pools are nice in the summer. I'm not impressed with the staff. I have never been impressed here. I'm a little disappointed because they could do better. They don't have any food. You're on your own here. We have HOA fees that we have to pay each month, and that's a little bit too high. In the unit there's a living room, and there's a front porch closed in. You have storage on the front porch, and you have two bedrooms in this unit. There is a bathroom, a laundry room, a full kitchen, and a dinette section.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I want to preface my following comment, saying The Village and the houses and people who live at the community are terrific and the amenities that were built into the community are wonderful, even if the HOA IS a bit higher than many other communities. I am NOT, herein, speaking to any other issue(s) in LV or with LV life, than the one which pertains to the problem and people involved in this comment profile. My greatest issue is with the inferior customer service of the Administration, adding that they are PAID employees of the Village. If you are expecting a return call from them, particularly Mr. Claus, to resolve a complaint, don't hold your breath. The Village Maintenance crew broke a window in my unit during lawn cutting and I was told "it's a stress crack," even though there were witnesses to the breakage. No matter how many calls/messages (3) I made to Mr. Claus, he obviously ignored me, as did John in maintenance. John finally left a phone message, (after I left him 4 messages and E-mailed) telling me, his "opinion" is that the Village didn't do it, but will fix it at my expense. Of course, I can't prove my position, any more than LV can PROVE theirs, but, given the fact that I want the window fixed, I WILL PAY for it. My point is, The Village is a great value and the homes are nice and cozy, but, as I have always said about customer service--It always sounds wonderful on paper and in talk-talk-talk, but, the true merit and integrity of customer service is effectively tested and BEST proven ONLY when there is a problem, NOT when everything is going well. I add, I was never one to 'bandwagon' and, although I heard so many complaints about the ' feeling of disrespect' many residents have experienced (after being repeatedly disregarded and ignored), I always advocated FOR the Administration of LV, until I had this experience to subjectively speak to... Given that, I have to say, LV has deeply disappointed me and I regret, I now have a 'story' of my own, to add to the long pages of LV resident's stories. Perhaps, if enough stories accumulate, the residents, who are the financial engine of the HOA will move, with all it's power, to make the changes needed to give the people of LV the courteous service that is deserved and expected. After all... LV is a private community, which TRUSTS a Board to oversee the PAID services provided to the community and, with that thought, there is never a question about 'where' the 'real power' comes from...is there? So, to conclude, this is no longer as much about the indignity of being told, with the implicit inference, that I 'fabricated' my 'story' as it is a chain of deplorable handling of my complaint, which I only hoped to resolve in a polite, pleasant and fair manner. Instead, I never got more than an 'opinion,' left on my answering machine, after many, many attempts to speak with a paid employee of LV. I trust, by sharing my experience, it will encourage anyone who has been similarly treated to share theirs and, perhaps, it will help to generate a strong dialogue in response to how the residents of LV are served for the money paid to our HOA and it's Administrators. Post Note: Today, I received a call from a glass repair business, telling me they are to replace the window in my unit at cost to LV, which confused me completely, so, I called LV and spoke with "Kathleen," on behalf of "Shirley," who is, apparently, empowered to decide to pay for my damaged window and, who said, the "Village" will pay for the window's repair. Although I requested to speak with Shirley directly to convey my appreciation, I was told she is busy on the phone, with an indefinite wait time, but Kathleen was rather insistent that I shoule let her know what the purpose of the call was (which, I can only suppose was known, as Kathleen mentioned 'the window'). I did leave my message of 'thank-you' for Shirley, who did not call me back either. Although I shake my head at what I have learned is practiced culture of disregarding (my) phone calls, I appreciate being treated fairly, even if it is a bitter and belated gesture and the actual reason for finally doing the right thing may be ...dubious. That's MY story. I wish I didn't have it to tell! Have a safe, happy summer and enjoy the amenities of peaceful, pastoral LV!

I visited this facility

My parents will sign the lease for Leisure Village next week. It was very nice and well taken care of. They liked the area, have friends over there, and were more with their own age group.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

First things first, Lesuire Village is amazing. My grandma and grandpa that I visit usually 2-3 times a months are residents there so I have so experience within the facility. Starting from when you enter to leave thats how I'll explain it. You enter into the front gates which have a private security officer and the landscape around the front is beautiful. Blossoming trees and flowers with a spewing water type of thing in the middle that has lights at night make it look like something you'd see in Las Vegas. As you enter there's about three different directions to get to homes. As you pass by homes are kept in tip-top shape and the lawn is maintained to the maximum. As you walk in my old folks home, probably like others, there's and 4 person couch and two love seats on each sided facing a center TV. Behind that is the kitchen and dining room. Down the halls is a bathroom and 3 bedrooms. Outside there's a room with screen nets on the windows, great for little get togethers or just wanting to enjoy the full moon and animals at night. I would deffinatly recommend this place to anyone looking for a retirement home with assisted living.
