Does everyone have a difficult time transitioning to nursing home, or did I just make a bad choice?

A fellow caregiver asked...

Have entered husband in nursing home. I have been called several times and the stress goes on. They have sent him to anger management and then moved him after coming back. Has been just one thing after another. Does this happen in all nursing homes or did I make a bad choice?

It's very difficult to answer this question without knowing the reason he was sent to a skilled nursing. If he has dementia then this behavior is not necessarily unusual. You just need to keep up on what's going on until things calm down.
