Are "car donations" a real thing? If so, where can I get one to take my mother to her doctor's appointments?

Hi, my mother (whom will be 80 this year) has been living with me for the past 5 years. I have POA and all that, but this year has been particilarly hard on us! My boyfriend and I broke up, and I was woprking for him, so I lost my job, my car broke down and I had to sell it to the junk cars place, and we recently just got evicted for no reason. They wouldn't even let us go to court to find out why.
My question is... Since I lost my full time job, I've had a couple of part time jobs, but barely making enough to cover the bills, let alone a reliable vehicle. Where can I go to get help with getting one? She has already missed one doctor appointment and just got out of the hospital yesterday. I just don't know where to turn. Please help us, any advice or direction is appreciated!
