Community Commons had a homey feeling. It seemed like everybody was together in the common room and there was a lot of activity going on, playing cards together, and playing games. I didn't even have an appointment. They came out, showed me around, and they were very nice. They had a beauty shop and a nice outdoor area and gardening area.

My husband is at Community Commons for rehab. The facility seems pretty good and it is clean. Some of the furniture is kind of worn out and some of the recliners are pretty rough. So, it's outdated, but for the most part, I've been very pleased with the staff. They seem very caring. The physical therapists come in and try to do puzzles with the residents. They also have music. The dining area seems pretty good. They offer quite a wide variety and more than adequate food portions.

My sister is at Community Skilled Health Care. They don’t know how to separate their residents from the ones with the mental problem to somebody with another problem, and then they mixed them all together. Everybody uses the same bathroom. The rooms are not private enough. My sister is in a corner. The room is small, but they put 2 people in there, and there is not enough room for my sister’s bed to be situated so she can look at the TV because she is in the corner. The staff needs to be trained better too.

I had no knowledge of this nursing home prior to placing my mother there, it turned out to be the worst decision I ever made. The business admin only has one objective - to fill beds and make money. The building is old and unkempt. There's much nicer nursing homes for what they charge. I would not recommend this senior care center.

Community Skilled has a lot of units, and it is 5 to 10 minutes away from my dad’s home so he can visit every day. The care is very good. She has physical and occupational therapy, and all the staff has been really nice. They have a community dining room, and the people have to get washed up and dressed every day to eat in the dining hall. They have activities, Sunday church service, and it’s pretty nice. All the diets are according to whatever the person is on. My mom is a diabetic, and they have a diabetic diet for her and low cholesterol, and the food is pretty tasty. My mom eats and she likes the food. They are in the process of remodeling the façade of the facility itself.

Community Commons is a nice community, and a very nice facility. The staff who gave the tour was very adequate, very professional, very outgoing, and concerned. They said they would not cater to any kind of special diet, and my mother needs a high fiber diet.

The walls are stained from water damage. Built in an old mansion with very few updates. Lacks a good physical therapy dept. and the staff are very rude to visitors.

Our family is very pleased with this facility. We settled Mom in this November. The Commons met every requirement presented on reputable websites that suggested what to look for. I was impressed at my first visit and at subsequent visits showing family members. I was met by different staff each time and all were friendly, helpful, knowledgable and were glad to be working there. Most have been there long term. The decor is updated and the dining room is set up as a lovely restaurant. Apartments are clean, laundry is done separately, etc. As you can see, we are pleased. Mom would rather be home, of course, but is starting to participate in several activities, and had her hair done at the little beauty shop too.
