Holiday Sky Peaks

We visited Sky Peaks, and my mom thinks it's too much money, and it's very old. When we were in the elevator, there was blood on the wall. Maybe somebody just cut themselves or whatever, but it was a white wall. My mother also saw that as well, and so she thought that it was old and dirty. The amenities were just like any other place, the three meals a day, they do the linens and towels, they come in and clean the apartment. The amenities were good and she likes that. The cheapest studio was like over $2,400 the day that we were there. A week later, the staff contacted me and wanted to know if Mom liked it, and I said, "No, it's too expensive." Then he contacted me the same day an hour later and said, "Well, actually we can put you in a studio for $2,300 instead of the $2,400," but I told him, "No, thank you." The staff was really nice. They gave us lunch that day, and it was really good. Everything was just very old, like the kitchens in there. My mother said the cabinets looked very old, and the floors in the kitchen were still like linoleum. She said that that looked very old. It looks like it needs renovation to make it more appealing.

Sky Peaks was very nice. It feels homey, so for the residents there, there is a sense of community and camaraderie. Everybody knows everybody. There are lots of activities for the residents that they may choose to or are not obligated to attend. It is an independent living facility. It is their home, that's what it seems like. It's a little outdated, but that's not a cause for concern. The place is nice and clean. The staff was knowledgeable. The building itself is nice. Each apartment has a balcony or a patio. It's located in a nice quiet area. There are parks all over the place, so the residents can go in and out of the place whenever they want and go to those parks or shopping.

My sister and I liked the Sky Peaks facility. It's a marvelous community, and it's really wonderful. We met with John at Sky Peaks, and he was absolutely marvelous. He could not have been more friendly and helpful. He's excellent at what he does, and he makes everyone comfortable and at home. We ran into so many people in the hallways who actually live there, and they think the world of him, too. If you're looking for a recommendation to give to other folks, this place is wonderful.

We visited Sky Peaks and the tour was very good. John was the representative that took care of it and he took excellent care of us. The man is awesome at his job. The facility itself was lovely, it was very hotel-like and not like a senior living home at all. It's an independent living place and the facility was lovely, the apartments were very very nice. John's service was exceptional. The information that he provided and the fact that he seemed interested in our case and what our needs were, he was wonderful. My husband and I thought he did an outstanding job. He was delighted with the people that lived there that we came in contact with. I think my sister would be very happy since there are absolutely no restrictions there on her at all. No curfew, she can keep her car, and she can keep her cat. It would just be nothing but a positive environment for her and they allow small pet companions, small furry ones. There were elevators too, there's absolutely no steps in the place that anyone has to use. There is a beautiful staircase from the 1st floor to the 2nd level, we saw some folks were using it but it's nothing that anyone has to use because there's an elevator. There are free washer and dryers on every floor plus the housekeeping, they'll come in and change your sheets which is something that's already difficult for her to do. It was just nothing but a positive place.

I liked Sky Peaks very much. It was beautiful. I got to see the rooms and everything. It was expensive, but they did not really have any assistance to give my brother-in-law medicines and stuff like that. There was really no assisted living there, but it was a beautiful place, and they had lovely rooms. It was more for people who are independent. He would not have survived there because they had to go outside to get to the dining room and he would not be able to do that. The people were so friendly. They came over and started talking to him. It would've been lovely, but unfortunately they did not have the services that he needed. I would love to be there myself. They were in the process of upgrading the room and painting it, but it was lovely, and they had their own private bathroom and a little kitchenette. It was under construction, but you could tell it was a lovely place.

Facility is OK overall. Understaffed most of the time but staff is caring towards residents. Management has been lacking in the last year and meals have gone down in variety and quality. One problem that has taken way too long is that the AIR CONDITIONING UNIT in the common areas including the dining room has been down for approx 4 weeks this is totally unacceptable for a senior facility in 95-100 degree weather so residents are opting to stay in their apts which isolates them The state of Nevada has been told about the problem, mgmt says its on order. If they have a reliable A/C contractor they could have fixed it in a week at the most. Not a valid excuse !!! Old people suffer from extreme conditions.

Sky Peaks was not an assisted living place. The facility looked nice, but they couldn't take care of my mom.

We've lived here at Sky Peaks for almost two years, and it is not good. Management and services have gone downhill, and food has really gone downhill. They have activities for seniors like bingo, Uno, and card games in the afternoons sometimes. We have a two-bedroom unit with bonus rooms. It's about 1,300 square feet and one of the bigger rooms here. There's a bus here that operates from Sunday to Thursday. The biggest drop is in the food. The meat is barely grade A, and they're reducing choices. In the two years we've been here, they've changed general managers four times, and most of the staff under that person has changed. Most of the people who haven't been changed are the servers and housekeepers, but they fired three or four of them for one reason or another.

We like that Sky Peaks isn't too expensive and the people are very friendly. I just don't like that they are understaffed. Also, when my mom goes down to have a meal, it takes about two hours to go through the whole meal; she doesn't even like to go down to eat. Otherwise, everything is great.

Sky Peaks was an independent living community with nice rooms. The excursion staff was off when we went there so the assistant manager showed us around and explained things. He was very nice, and the place was clean. We were surprised how nice the community was, but the altitude is too high.

I chose Sky Peaks because it's very nice, and I liked it very much because it's convenient for me. The place was in good condition and very well-taken care of. The apartments were very nice, and the dining room looked beautiful. They had lots of activities for the residents to choose from, and the staff was very nice.

Sky Peaks was a beautiful, well-laid-out, extremely clean place. The people were wonderful. I saw a studio that had a living room, bedroom, and little kitchen area on the main floor, so you could walk out into the courtyard area. I had a wonderful experience. It was well planned. The people I spoke to were extremely pleased to be there. I liked the idea that they always had fresh, hot coffee and a little snack area. The only thing that I thought needed improvement was the library. The dining area was wonderful and wasn't overcrowded. The food was delicious and well thought out. I liked the idea that if you did not want what was prepared, you could order a sandwich or something. They had an exercise room with treadmills, bikes, and light weights; I liked that.

My parents are in Sky Peaks, and I think it's a great place. I pay for extra help, and the girls I hired give them medications every morning. They have 3 meals a day, I eat with them regularly once a week, and they enjoyed that. It's clean, they treat them well, and the staff knows their names. We've been very happy with them.

Sky Peaks was a very nice community, and the staff was very nice. Their pricing was high but not so high that it would be a discouraging factor. The place was very pretty, and I liked it.

At Sky Peaks, they have a host couple who sat down with us and told us about the place. My mom really enjoyed that. They served restaurant style. They have a couple of selections, and you tell them what you want. They bring all the food on a cart to the table. It was very nice and very clean. We looked at a small 1-bedroom, and we saw a studio too. We also went into a furnished 2-bedroom. It was actually planned pretty well, but we were looking something smaller, so they showed us what we were looking for. They didn’t really try to push anything onto us. The one thing that I was concerned about was the bathroom. I wanted my mother to have a roll-in shower so that she could go in with her walker if she needed to, but not all of them have that. You have to specify that.

The people who gave me the tour at Sky Peaks were very helpful. The place was very nice; however, I didn’t like the fact that most of the people there were either on canes or on walkers. The place itself is new and in excellent condition. It’s a very good place.

My sister is living in Sky Peaks. She has an apartment, and it's fine. The staff was excellent and very cooperative. They treat everybody well, and it's a great value.

Sky Peaks is a beautiful decorated space with a gorgeous dining room, and the rooms are large and clean. The staff is very friendly. The place is very nice and very impressive. The food was great, and they showed us different activity areas like a reading and piano area. They also had an art room, which was nice.

Sky Peaks was a nice place, but it's too expensive. The staff was very nice, and the rooms are clean, but I don’t think they were as big. The food was good, and I liked the dining area. The residents seemed to be happy.

We were able to visit Sky Peaks and found out that we will not be able to afford it, but we loved everything about the place. Everything was beautiful and very clean. Everybody was very friendly, and the food was delicious. We saw a number of apartments available, but it was out of our price range.

I liked Sky Peaks. I hated their food and didn’t care for the service of the food, but the chairs in the dining room were exceedingly comfortable and closer to the ground, so my feet were able to touch the ground for a change, which I liked a lot. They had a room there that I fell in love with that had two bedrooms and a den. I liked the manager, but the service was terrible in the dining room, and they used their housekeepers as their waiters and waitresses. I didn’t think that was a good thing. Their security seemed fine. I didn’t see a lot of activities. I saw people playing bingo, but they seemed older.

We placed Mom at Sky Peaks and are very happy. The residents can have their loved ones eat with them whenever they want. She has a great apartment, in which we were able to get her furniture and fix it up like she wanted. The staff is great. I like that it doesn't look like we are driving up to a scary house. It's very nice and colorful. The services are great and meets all our needs as well as my mom's needs.

Sky Peaks has individual apartments that were very nice. I met the tour guide and the chef, and both were very friendly. The facility was clean and well maintained without a distinct smell whatsoever.

Sky Peaks in Reno was originally where we were wanting my mother to go, but the pricing just wasn’t in the budget. If I had a choice, I would still prefer for her to be at Sky Peaks because it's closer to everybody in our family, but cost-wise, we ended up having to move her to the Carson City location. Everything's clean and nice, and things are in really good shape; if something is not fixed right, somebody is there right away fixing it. The minute you walk in, you're welcomed, not only by the people, but the residents themselves. It's a really good community. The apartments themselves are just beautiful. They're really well-lit and bright; there's no darkness to them at all. You walk in there and it's just lifting. It's really bright, beautiful, and roomy, and the bathrooms are set up for somebody that needs help being in and out of the bathroom safely.

Sky Peaks was beautiful, and the staff was very friendly. They did not however tell us about all the expenses that would incur. My mom, although she was OK with it, didn't feel that it was a homey environment. She felt that it was more formal, and didn't feel it was part of what she was used to. But the facility was gorgeous. The apartments were a lot bigger and fresher, they had newer carpets and things like that, but I couldn't say that they were any better or any bigger than the one she is in right now. They had the same types of things like movies, socials, and Bingo. The food was good, and the dining facility was gorgeous. I just felt that the food where mom is at is a little better because it seems more home cooked. The staff felt very friendly, and they were right there asking us if we needed anything. They gave us beverages and, of course, we got a complimentary lunch. I can't say anything bad about the staff, other than the person who was in charge of showing us around. She neglected to tell us a couple of things about the financials that we asked about.

Sky Peaks is very nice. It is laid out very good. It is clean. The people that are running it are friendly. The food is very good. It is a pretty good facility. My friend is happy with it. They have a movie room, a card table, and a pool table.

The people at Sky Peaks were very nice. I had a wonderful lunch there today. I've only eaten there twice and at both times, food was good. The rooms were very nice. The apartment that I'll have is two-bedroom-two-bath. The staff was very nice and very helpful. The dining room was very large. They do have activities. They have bingo and card games. They have a library and they have a community room where they can have visitors come in. The atmosphere, I think, was very nice. They have a grand piano. When you go through the entrance, to the left is the dining room. It is like a three-story atrium. Everything was very clean and nicely appointed.

My mother is a resident of Sky Peaks. She continues to enjoy the friendly staff and other residents. There's plenty of activities to choose from. Two times a week a van is available for doctor appointments, two times a week the van is available for shopping, and one day a week the van is available for misc. scheduled activities. My mother enjoys working out with a group in the mornings and working out independently in the afternoons. The facility is extremely clean and bright. Her apartment is the perfect size and has a beautiful view. She has weekly laundry and apartment cleaning. All three meals are provided, included is unlimited snacks, juices, water, coffee and tea. The cost is affordable and there's the option of paying a bit more to lock in the monthly rate for as long as she lives there. A great value for the money.

Our friend has moved into Sky Peaks because the people who were there were so nice, very helpful, and very respectful. They offer everything; they have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and they have snacks during the day. They have live music, Happy Hour Fridays, and they take people shopping. They are really great.

Sky Peaks have good staff and good people. The facility is clean and they have a kitchen were you could use if you want to make cookies or something. They do have different activities, and I know they have exercise classes. What I like best on the facility is the friendliness and the bigger rooms in the facility.

Sky Peaks was a good place. The staff was fine. My mother lived there. The food served tasted good However, my mother wanted to cook her own food which was why she moved to another facility. They had a lot of activities. My mother played bingo there. The place was fairly priced.

My mother and my brother went to Sky Peaks. It's not assisted living, so you have to contract with a third party provider for anything medical. This is a retirement apartment with meals prepared. It was about the same square footage in terms of the rooms. The 2-bedrooms, 2-bathrooms and a living room were pretty much exactly what she was used to, and her furniture fit really well. It has a tiny kitchen because all the meals are served for them. It has a nice little patio, so the adjustment in terms of inside the unit wasn't much. They go to the dining room for their meals. She has been sick with bronchitis and so she has not been going to the dining room. They deliver her food to her room, which is lovely. There's a bakery chef for quiche pies, all kinds of things made all the time. You can go pick some at the table. It has muffins, cookies, coffee, tea, and juices at all times. This really was the best for the money in all the Reno area. The location was great. What was really important was that they could take my mom's little doggie, so that was good. They have building managers who stay there. There's a couple there all the time. One couple goes 3 days a week and one couple 4 days a week, and they sleep there. They're always on call. There's also pull cords in every room, so if my mother needed to call 911, all she has to do is pull the cord and they'll help her.

Mom is at Sky Peaks. We chose this facility because she likes it the best. I would give the staff a 10. The rooms were extremely clean and well cared for. Anything they showed us had already been cleaned and was ready to go. She could have moved in that day if she wished. I ate there twice, and the food is excellent. I had lunch and breakfast. Mom explained that they have morning walks, and they can do that twice a day. On Friday, they have a weekly trip somewhere on a bus. They go out five days a week to do doctor appointments and/or shopping, and all you have to do is ask. They have a weekly person who comes in to do entertainment and play instruments. They also have movie nights, and usually they have something holiday-related that they do. They also decorate everything according to the holiday.

I'll be moving in to Sky Peaks. The apartment that I got is exactly what I wanted. My daughter and son-in-law insisted also on this place because it's much closer to their home. The facility is really nice, it's right in the center of the residential area. Their rooms are big. I like both their pool table and workout room. People here are friendly.
