I toured The Oaks at Denville. I like the dining facilities and I like the community. They look like a social area where they have shows and gatherings. There's also a hairdresser and a beauty shop that they had there. They had a swimming pool and a general big gathering area. Some things needed a little upkeep, some upgrading. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. They were well informed.

The Oaks at Denville was very expensive. You go there and they want $350,000. I didn't care much for any of it. It was very old. They tell you they're gonna redo it, but they tell you that all the time, and they never do. It's not a place I'd want to be. The staff during the tour was very nice. The rooms were old. The dining area was OK. There's nothing special. There's a lot of walking.

The Oaks at Denville looks fine; I just thought that I wasn't ready to move there. The amenities were OK, and they had a nice library. I only met the person who was interviewing us and showing us around, and she was great.

When my mother first went to The Oaks, we were very satisfied with the care and quality of living. When her health started to fail, it all became a nightmare. She ended up moving four times within the facility and then finally was kicked out the same month that her declining balance ran out. (She had contracted for life care). The moves were very very hard on both my Mom and our family. Each time we had to move her furnishings and downsize her belongings. When she was in their Health Center we would come and visit her and almost every time find her wet from her incontinence. The cleanliness there was awful. She developed many urinary tract infections as a result. She suffered from mild dementia that was further aggravated by her UTIs. The told us that they weren't licensed for dementia care and kicked her out despite her having a contract for life care. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIE PLACE!!

My husband is at The Oaks at Denville, but I can't go in there. I can't get in until it is 14 days. Everybody is willing to talk and they are nice, but he is not making any progress, and that is the problem. Unless you're there yourself you can't know. Anybody that is in a rehab or something of this thing needs an advocate. You need somebody there and I can't. Some people are very helpful and friendly, most of them are. I don't know what it looks like inside. I don't have anything bad to say, but I question his rehab a little bit because he has not made any progress. He says everybody is nice, and he does not really complain about the food. I can't say anybody has done anything that I don't like. I will say though they had to get my written permission to get the coronavirus vaccine and I said yes. And I also said that I am the caregiver and asked if I could get one, and they let me get one as well, which was really nice. That was wonderful. They are very, very cautious about spreading the virus. I know why they're doing what they are doing and that is good. But if it was not for the virus and we could get there, it would be a whole lot better. I can't blame them for what they are doing because it's what they have to do.

Fellowship Senior Living was very nice, very clean, and updated. There were lots of activities and friendly staff. We saw both assisted and independent. They had a salon, a movie theater, and a bistro. They've got independent condo living and independent apartment living. It's a very big facility. They've got a swimming pool. It's a village, literally.

The Oaks at Denville was great. Their independent living facility was separate from their skilled and assisted living. The independent living facilities were very nice. The skilled nursing and assisted living building needed to be updated and had more of a hospital style environment. The dining was very nice and the food was good in the independent living. In the assisted/skilled nursing, there really wasn't a dining room, just a very small activity room, and the food was more like hospital food.
