The facility is beautiful with some activities for loved one to do. However getting your money back after your loved one dies is another subject. Our father is gone 3 years and we are still waiting for our money. The facility blamed it on Covid, however when we visited our father's apartment we saw they were using it for the construction headquarters. We did not sell our apartment due to their use. It was filthy! It has now been fixed after we brought it to their attention, someone has moved in and we still are waiting for our money. Dishonest people you are dealing with!

My family cannot say enough positive things about the team at Crane’s Mill. They were very responsive to all of my parent’s needs which made for a welcoming and easy transition. Now that they are living there my parents are more active and social and are enjoying all the facilities. The staff and residents are all so friendly and caring. Moving to Crane’s Mill was the best decision my parents could have made.

My parents were welcomed to the Crane’s Mill community with open arms. Other residents go out of their way to meet the newcomers. It was not easy to leave their home but they eventually settled into a beautiful apartment. They enjoy the Catholic masses and activities, and have found a nice group of new and old friends. Their social life is now better than mine!

I saw both the independent living and the nursing facility at Crane's Mill. It's very nice, clean, and pleasant. They seemed very efficient. I was visiting my aunt, and I can't recall meeting any staff. I know they had a pool and chapel services. They had a lot of clubs. It was lovely and very clean. I have not been in it in a year and a half because we cannot go in the building. As I recall, her room was very nice. She's in the nursing facility now. She had a lovely apartment to start out with: two bedrooms and a bathroom. It was very nice, quite spacious, and clean. It seemed like a lovely place. We visited with her in the parking lot, but I think they've opened it up to indoor visiting now. We're trying to schedule that for my mother shortly, but when they set it up last fall (the last time I was there), it was outdoors. I thought they did a lovely job. It was very nice. They had tables and chairs. It was outdoors, and they were doing the best they could.

I am/was a resident of this facility

This facility is managed as profit center by non-onsite operators. Accordingly focus is on profits not residents or their health care needs. Residencies are nice and so is the campus. Local staff like food service and activities are caring and outstanding.

My Mother was a resident. Beautiful place, wonderful staff. Food is fantastic. I occasionally ate there too with my Mother, so I know! Clean, attractive natural setting. Fabulous place.

Our father moved into the independent living area of Crane’s Mill soon after our Mom passed away. He subsequently developed some health issues. He fell in his apartment and suffered a hip fracture. Soon thereafter, his medical issues gradually worsened. We, and our Dad, wanted to be transferred to another skilled nursing facility. He actually improved at his new location and rallied somewhat. We would not recommend Crane’s Mill to anyone! Stay away from this one!

I visited this facility

Crane's Mill was very nice. The apartment that we saw was very roomy and bright, the kitchen facilities were much more than adequate, and the closet space was acceptable. The public dining rooms were very bright, very pleasant, and very welcoming. We know a couple of people there so that made it a little more personal. The food was good, very adequate, and nicely served. We spoke to an intake person who answered as many questions as she could. The grounds were spacious and very pretty. There were places to walk and one of the things that turned us off was the long walk to the dining room and to the public areas since both my husband and I have difficulty with walking, but it was very beautiful. They have a swimming pool, a gym, and public areas for evening entertainment.

My husband was at Cranes mill for almost 4 weeks and neither of us can say enough good things about the facility. The staff was the best I've ever dealt with. I have a health care background and have worked in several facilities and have visited many others, this sub-acute was the best I've seen in years. It was clean and friendly and each staff member that we came in contact with was very helpful. I would suggest Cranes Mill to anyone. I contacted Social worker at St Barnabus hospital and gave her my gratitude for recommending this facility for my husbands recovery.

My mother lived at Crane’s Mill for almost 10 years, and had a wonderful experience there! She did the usual progression through the different levels of care-- she started out in Independent Living for several years, where she made many friends and had an active social life. She moved to Assisted Living when she had an accident and her health started failing, and then did several stints in Skilled Nursing, following various hospitalizations. Once when she was in Skilled Nursing, she was so ill that Hospice was brought in, and even that was a good experience. The staff went above and beyond to try to revive her--incredibly, she pulled through and lived another 3 years! The quality of Crane’s Mill’s facility and staff, in all phases of care, was excellent. The nurses were always warm, caring, and upbeat, even when my mother put up a fuss over taking so many pills, or doing other things she didn’t want to do. The recreational services director did an amazing job of keeping the residents occupied, playing games, showing movies, singing, doing crafts, etc. The PT staff was also wonderful—so warm and encouraging, even in the face of failing physical abilities. Even the dining staff was friendly and caring! When my mother finally passed away last October at the age of 98, I was truly touched by the outpouring of sympathy by the staff. The Director of Community Relations even came to the wake, which meant so much to me. The staff truly tries their best to make life pleasant for the residents; they took exceptional care of my mother in her final years, for which I am truly grateful. Thank you, Crane’s Mill!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS DO COUNT!. THE FIRST IMPRESSION I PERCIEVED WAS THE RECEPTIONIST WAS NOT GRACIOUS AND INFACT HAVING A TERRIBLE DAY. THE RECEPTIONIST YELLED AT A VISITOR INFRONT OF THE RESIDENCE. THIS DEMEANING EXPERIENCE RESULTED IN A REQUEST TO SPEAK TO THE ADMINISTRATOR. THE ADMINISTRATOR CONTINED TO YELLED AT A VISITOR WITHOUT ASKING CIRCUMSTANCES..

If you love your relative don’t place them here! I’m not kidding, in the name of god take them to another facility, any facility. What I saw with my own eyes was horrifying, people begging for help and being ignored patients forced to do what they don’t want. I wish I had filmed what I saw, and it was not just on one day it was all the time. I must say the facility on the outside was very clean and looked great, even the inside was not too bad but the people working here, bad, really bad. I pulled my relative out, do the same to yours.

This place has gone WAY downhill. Pros: Great physical therapy team and caring dining staff. The PA and attending doctor are great. Many aids are mean, call buttons are hardly answered, patients are left unattended for hours at a time. There are so many temp people coming in and out that no-one gets to know the patient and their needs. The staff is defensive when you try to solve issues. If you want your loved one to be treated with dignity and respect, this is not the place

Most of the people at Crane's Mill were friendly. There might have been 58 patients there, and at night, there were like three aides. So, in some ways, my husband was just left to his own devices. He is nearly blind, so he had to find his way at mealtimes. The people tried to accommodate his schedule, but they weren’t really able to do it because they were so regemented and they had so many people there. My husband was there for two weeks for respite care. He had a very large room. It had a very narrow bed and its own bathroom. The food was good; my husband enjoyed it.

We looked at Crane's Mill. It was smaller and a little more intimate than other placesm, and it was very close to where my parents live, so it made a lot of sense. The atmosphere was great. Everybody was pretty active. The clubhouse was very active, and it looked like the people were having a good time. I would highly recommend it.

There was nothing wrong with the facility, per se. The problem was that Crane’s Mill was independent living, carrying costs somewhere between $50,000 and $60,000 per year, which was prohibitively expensive. That does not count the cost of purchasing a unit, which could range anywhere from $400,000 to $600,000. These places were extremely expensive, but everything was fine, and I didn't have any problems with the amenities.

It was a very pleasant visit. We saw some community that was not large and very attractive, but I haven't had the chance to look at the floor plans. The staff were very pleasant and very nice. It was a good experience, although they did a lot of talking and not much listening to our questions. They were very friendly and anxious to make a good impression. Crane's Mill was closer to where my daughter lives, which would be an advantage.

Crane’s Mill is the one that probably sticks to my head a little more than the others. It seemed to be adequate if you were incapacitated a bit, and I’m not quite there yet. It was quite good, I certainly can’t say anything bad about it. The rooms were nothing that strikes me great or bad either. Everybody seemed to be very pleasant and content. The people I met indicate it’s a decent place to live. It’s closer to my children too. I think they had something around 350 people. I think it’s a pretty good size. They have plenty of activities like bingo. They have a graduated facility all the way from independent facility to assisted living.

Crane’s Mill had a VERY nice and well organized group of people. They were very friendly too, and it seems it had happy people there. They have quite a bit of activities. They have exercise and religious programs, and they take you out to other communities. The young man who assisted us was great.
