My aunt will be moving into Lake Howard Heights. It felt like it was a good fit and at a good price point. It fits all of my aunt's needs. The apartment was very spacious for the price point. The facility was very clean and had great appeal. The dining room was restaurant-style. The overall facility felt more like a hotel. I took a picture of the menu, and it looks very good.

I'm in Lake Howard Heights. I was going to go to another one which was better priced, but the management there was unfriendly and unprofessional, so I moved here. This is more expensive, but we negotiated a fair price. The apartment is brand new. I have a brand-new modern bathroom with very secure fittings, beautiful appliances, fixtures, a complete kitchen, which is really nice, unusual for a retirement area, and a great view. I'm on the eleventh floor. The staff is very friendly. They don't ask for tips or anything. They do it out of goodness. I've got a lot of deliveries building this apartment and no one's ever complained about it. They've always brought it up to my room. If you're not feeling well, they will take the meals which are supposed to be eaten in the common area. They'll bring the meal up to you, which is really nice room service, especially for independent living. They have a chef and the food can be good. The problem in our place is that they pick food that I don't necessarily like. I only like about half of the menu. You have a selection here and they have an alternate, so in the end, there's always something that you can enjoy for any meal. Due to some health problems, I haven't yet gone downstairs to do the activities. Of what they told me, there are interest groups in playing games, watching TV, and junkets to downtown, so they have something for everybody. The food is a blend of very good and very mediocre, but there's always something that somebody will like, because they have an alternate of soup or a burger or something like that.

I did a tour of Lake Howard Heights. What I liked best was the options for living. They had like a studio, a deluxe studio, a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom options for people to live in. I liked the fact that they had round-the-clock medical staff on duty. What I liked the least was, that some things look a little dated and maybe some things that weren't very well maintained. There was an outside patio area for the residents to sit and with some torn screens that looked like they needed to be addressed. I have not tried the food, but I've heard that there's a chef who makes all the food and that the residents can come in and sit down and look at a menu like they're in a restaurant, and order whatever they want. The staff were great. Because they require la $5,000 one-time community fee, I think they could have done a better job at maintaining the property. There shouldn't be anything broken. They should have more updated things in the apartment. They shouldn't have carpeted floors and should have tile floors or hardwood floors. Also, they did kind of have a smell.

We looked at Lake Howard Heights. They had plenty of things to do. We like it. The rooms were good size. The people were excellent. The staff who gave the tour were very nice people. They were open to any questions. They were very nice.

Lake Howard Heights was nice. It's not expensive. It just was unaffordable for us. That's one of the reasons why we didn't take my grandmother there. It was a nice facility. Everything was nice. It smells really good. It's nice and fresh. There's a lot of lighting. The people that were there seemed to be enjoying the time. The staff was great. Everything was just top-notch service from a visitor's standpoint. We saw a very nice restaurant. The staff was excellent. They were very nice and very committed. They go to a pool nearby, but it wasn't part of the building. They had a lot of games, bingo, and events, and they would call a comedian and singers. It was just heaven. There were a lot of activities and puzzles. That place used to be a hotel and turned into an assisted living building. It's very organized.

My brother liked Lake Howard Heights. When we went to tour the place, they gave us all the information, they took the time, and they answered all our questions. The staff was very, very helpful, very professional, and very nice and open. They greeted us with a smile and we felt like it was a happy place. It was the cleanest facility that I have ever seen. They offered a lot of activities for their residents. So, if one person didn't like one thing, he could do the other thing. They also honored veterans there.

Lake Howard Heights was nice. It was an older building, but it was very clean. They had transportation available, a hair salon, and a dining area that looked like a restaurant. The only thing they had available at the time was a studio. It was clean, but it wasn't big enough for what we needed. The staff was friendly. We went on a Sunday and our tour went OK, but I don't think they knew we were coming. So, the person who showed us around was a caretaker, and I think she was in the middle of assisting somebody. She did the best she could. She just couldn't answer all our questions, but we got that point of view from somebody who actually cared for the residents.

We talked to a number of residents at Lake Howard Heights and they were very, very complimentary. If we can make a choice, we'd probably go there. It's downtown. It's closer and the elevators made it very easy to get to the places. The people were very enthusiastic. Ricky was the one who took us around. I think the drawback in our case was I don't think they're very big in space to walk outside, and I don't think they have a lot of exercise equipment inside. I was a bit concerned about that, but I think it's well done. The apartments have been remodeled more recently, so they're nicer. The facility was more like being in a hotel kind of setting. It's more expensive as well, but I think you get what you pay for. They had a library, there were people crocheting/sewing, and another group that were playing cards. So, residents were out and about and doing things. They got the bus out there right there, too. So, they're just more active, and that was good. The atmosphere was very upbeat.

I was at Lake Howard Heights yesterday for a tour. It was nice. I liked it well. The room was amazing. It had great appliances and everything. The one bedrooms were very nice. I could see myself living there. The studios were okay, but they were just small. If I can afford the one-bedroom and it's available, if I go there, that's what I would probably take. They have a cafeteria which seems well-run and comfortable looking. They have activities. I spoke to a couple of residents, and they were friendly and nice. It was a nice experience. The whole building looked well-maintained and in good condition. For activities, they had chess, cards, table games, and board games. The staff was knowledgeable and very helpful, and she explained everything very clearly. I was very happy with it. If I was in a position right now, I would have signed in to move into a one-bedroom if I had everything else taken care of, but I've got a lot to do and things to work out before I can do anything.

Lake Howard Heights was in great shape. It had been remodeled and painted. The dining room was very good-looking and attractive. Everybody seemed to be much more friendly than at the other place. The person who was taking me around was great, and I would certainly go back there. I was very impressed. I liked the fishing dock, the outside swimming pool, the beautiful restaurants, the system of posting meals and activities, and the scenes of people enjoying themselves in groups.

We toured Lake Howard Heights, and we liked the warm and friendly atmosphere of the place. It was 100 percent perfect. The staff was very attentive and very friendly. They answered all of our questions. There were residents sitting at game tables playing games or working on crossword puzzles. It had a modern cafeteria setting. The rooms were spacious for the studio apartment, and they were very clean. There were many activities that they could participate in. Even the bus driver who drove them to the appointments was very helpful in answering questions, and he was very friendly.

We ended up placing our friend at Lake Howard Heights. We chose that because the level of staffing was higher and it's a beautiful place. At the moment, she's in independent living awaiting entry into the assisted living section, but they have supplied independently contracted aides to take care of her. The staff is very friendly and courteous, they're very open and kind. You can see them talking to the residents, it's not just that once you get in, they ignore you. They talk to the residents, they're around them, and they're assisting them. I have been with her for one meal, and it was very nice, and when I ask her how the meals are, she says they're good, and she's a picky eater. The activities have been negative so far, it's available but it's just not meeting her needs. The facilities are very nice, it's like living in a home. As of today, I would say she's getting beyond what she paid for. I said that because while we're waiting for her to get into the assisted living portion, they're providing contracted independent caregivers to stay with her, and that's way beyond my expectation.

My parents like the community. They like the people and they love it there. The staff members have been very friendly and helpful. They also love the food, and they've enjoyed the meals they had there. With the activities they've been doing so far they've also enjoyed them.

We had a very good tour experience. The staff was outstanding. We moved in the 1st of the month in independent and headed for assisted. We're in a temporary room, and it's very nice. The dining area looks great. The food is pretty good and has good variety. There's a full calendar of activities. They have Bible study, a lot of lunch trips and great variety of things.

This was the one that we liked most because it was clean and nice, the hallways were nice and light, and the rooms and people were nice. If we go anywhere, we would go there. They had community, exercise, and game rooms, plus a bus to take them places. Of all the places we looked, it was one of the nicest.

We chose this place for my loved one because it's about 10 streets down the road from me and it was really clean. They were friendly, and so far everybody has been great there. They know everybody. It's a small community, and the rooms are good sized.

It was the older one, but it was good. The director spent a lot of time with us, explained things thoroughly and also gave some information about applying for VA benefits and other types of benefits that might be available. The place seemed to be really clean, and it didn't have a bad smell to it. One of the things that I like about it was that you didn't have to walk a long way to get from one spot to another. For somebody who is having a health problem, I think that would be an important feature.

We place my father-in-law and his wife here. It is an age-in-place community. That is important to us. It has a restaurant style dining facility where the food is off a menu daily so they can choose. My father-in-law does not have teeth and has awkward dentures so his food is pureed. They know that, and they take care of that for him. They can have a healthcare aide to help them with the laundry, they can have a laundry service or they can do the laundry on their own.

My mom moved here in July. She has been very happy there. Everyone has been very friendly, and there is a family atmosphere. There are many activities for the residents, and my mom has gotten involved in some of them. It is a relief to me to have her in a safe, caring environment.

We had my father-in-law here. We chose this because it was convenient and very close to the church that he participates in. The staff are superb.

I just went out and talked to a whole bunch of different communities in the area and I liked this one the best. They were very friendly, very helpful, and they made me feel at ease with my dad living there. His apartment is not big, but it is big enough for him. It suits him just fine. He has got a little living room, a bedroom, and there is a lot of storage because they have their own storage area in each apartment. The kitchen has everything in it such as the stove, a fridge, and all that. So far, the staff has been good. I haven't had any issues. He seems to be very happy. I think he'd probably tell me if he wasn't. The food is really good. The dining room is a lot like a restaurant. Every day they give you three options for each meal and you just pick what you want. I've eaten there a couple of times and it was pretty good. They go on outings and things like that. I know that they have different things during the day that people can go to if they want. There is a little library and coffee area, so it just depends on how social you really want to be. They just seem to make all the residents really comfortable and it is a homey environment.

It was nice. There were a lot of grounds around it. It was just kind of high-rise with a parking lot. People were very nice, very helpful, and trying to help out.
