I toured Carlton Senior Living in Orangevale. I liked the rooms, and they have pre-memory care. What stood out to me was that if there's an emergency and you need to move in right away, they can pull together furniture if needed. So, they were very helpful. The tour was nice. I felt like it was very quaint to me. It seemed less busy, which was nice, but maybe people were sleeping depending on the time of day, which was nice too. I appreciate the willingness to help if things need to happen fast. The staff was wonderful and answered all the questions that I had as far as visitation, things like that. Everyone's really good. The kitchen area was nice. I thought it was very clean. Maybe everyone was doing laundry, and nothing was out of place.

Carlton Senior Living Orangevale had a nice layout and was very open. I didn't really see outside, but I could see outside from the inside, and it was very pleasant. The staff who assisted us with the tour was very nice, friendly, and very informative. The accommodations were nice. The studio room was very small. What I liked about it was that the dining room was open either 24 hours or 7:00 in the morning to 7:00 at night, or something like that. I did like that you could just drop in any time. You could get a soda or a drink any time because they said they wanted it to feel more like your own home where you could just go in and get something. They had a theater room and they had activities.

Carlton Senior Living of Orangevale was beautiful. It was clean, and I liked everything about it. It was nice. The sales director who took me on the tour was excellent. She was knowledgeable, well-spoken, friendly, compassionate, and nice. The apartments were generous sizes, had beautiful big windows, were easy to get into, and beautiful. They had several courtyards, a beauty salon, and an exercise room.

Moved my dad with Lewy Body Dementia into this facility after the last place he was at wasn’t working out. He passed away last week while living at Carlton and I cannot express how kind, compassionate and loving they were to my dad and my family. They took great care of him while he was alive, and when the time came they bent over backwards to make sure we could be by his side the whole time. They brought us water and lemonade, blankets in the middle of the night, and checked on him and us constantly. Thank you Trudy and Carlton staff from the bottom of our hearts.

My beloved mother moved into the Carlton on January 4, 2023 after a three week stay at a rehab facility due to some significant health issues. The staff were amazingly responsive and her bounceback from being really sick to becoming healthy and vibrant was just so wonderful to see. I spent 5 to 7 days per week visiting my mom so I saw the inner workings of the facility, the friendly head chef and his wonderful staff, the housekeeping staff, to the med techs, the maintenance staff, the front desk, etc. Everyone associated with this facility was driven by one general guideline....to take care of the residents. My mom unfortunately passed away unexpectedly just a few months later and the staff at the Carlton were so kind and supportive towards our family. I will never forget their kindness and compassion. I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone wanting to take care of their aging parents. I just wish my mom had more time there....

We toured Carlton Senior Living of Orangevale. It seemed too institutionalized. It didn't feel homey and friendly. Even though it was nice and clean, and very organized, you just get a feeling that you're in an institution. It used to be a drug rehab place. There's also a move-in fee. The person that gave us the tour was very good. We went into the dining room but there wasn't a very inviting feeling, like seeing a group of people eating in there. Everyone there feels kind of separated, it doesn't have a community feel where you'd see somebody, wave to them, or walk over to their table. It didn't have that same feeling. The facility has been there a long time and has changed hands at times. They've gone in and redone everything, and it's really nice, but had a very cold feeling. The rooms there were all about the same. It was very quiet with hardly anybody out; they were all in the rooms.

Right now, Carlton Senior Living of Orangevale is still doing some renovations. The rooms weren't built for 2-bedrooms. But what they do is offer two bedrooms, cut a hole in the wall, and make two separate living areas into one. It wasn't made to be that way, so you ended up with two kitchenettes instead. They're trying to renovate it and update it, and that was the only thing wrong. The staff was very nice, very friendly. When going to the dining area, there was a young girl there that was working in the kitchen, and she came out right away and just started talking to me, telling me about everything they offer, even though I had a tour guide with me. She took it on her own to tell me everything, and she was very excited about everything they offered. I saw the dining hall, they have a physical therapy type room, exercise room, and they had game rooms.

Carlton Senior Living of Orangevale was very nice. It's upgraded and they were informative. The staff was very nice. The apartments are remodeled. The food and dining area is new, but I didn't see any food. When I visited, I saw some live entertainment going on. It's very nice, they have many courtyards; I think there are four or six courtyards. The facility has been remodeled.

My parents are in Carlton Senior Living Orangevale. They changed ownership, and it's a Carlton property. I visited it last year before we moved my parents in there. They're good, but they've had some hiccups while they were switching ownership. The food was good, but it's gotten better now that the Carlton is in there. The staff is busy right now trying to fix the place up. It does need some work, so they're not spending as much time as they could with the residents. Communication is very good. With COVID, they have some activities, and they're starting to get more. They're rebuilding it, but they're very clean.

The care at Eskaton FountainWood Lodge is excellent. I'm very pleased with the place, the cleanliness, and the efficiency of the workers. The food is okay for my parents, it's not probably as good as I would like for me, but it's great for them. Everything I'm satisfied with and I don't have any complaints at this point. I can't say enough good things about the help or the staff there. To me, the most important is how my parents are being taken care of.

My mother is a resident at Eskaton and my mother-in-law was a former resident. She passed away while living at Eskaton. We are so grateful to the staff who took such good care of her especially during those last few days. Their kindness extended to all those that came to visit my mother-in-law. We consider it a blessing that her last days were at Eskaton.

My mother was a resident of Fountain Wood for about 8 months. She loved the people who worked there, and they loved her. We will be forever grateful for the time my mother was here. They were always so kind and thoughtful, and had the residents best interest in mind. This truly is a special place.

Everything has been great! All the staff from servers in the dining room to the RCAs who help my father daily not mention everybody in the offices. I have to say I recommend Eskaton to people who ask where my father is. Feels like home when I'm there. Thanks for all you do!

We chose Eskaton FountainWood Lodge because it seemed to be a professionally-run organization. It's a large community and fully-staffed. We thought that this is the best pick for my mother. Another thing is that it is the closest one that we could find. They have a full kitchen. They not only have regular menu, but you can also have an alternate menu. If you feel like having a burger, you can have a burger. They have a lot of variety. They're trying to work a lot on their activities too. People have peculiar needs, and they're trying to fulfill them.

Eskaton needed to be renovated. There weren't any activities happening when we went there, and the residents were in their rooms or eating. Everything looked like it was from the early '90s, was older, and the rooms were smaller. Eskaton was discounted and cheaper, but fairly hard to get to.

I was very disappointed with Eskaton Fountainwood Lodge. They showed me a couple of rooms that were under construction, but they weren't expecting me even though I had an appointment. The information had not gotten to them. They had a lot of activities, but the rooms were really small. They had very long hallways with no place for older people to sit down. The dining area is totally separate from the main area. They had a walking trail and an area with a couple of chairs outside. They could put seats in the hallway, because if the older people are not walking with a walker, but they have to sit down there was no place for them to sit. When I was there they were working on improving their rooms, but all they're doing was updating them, not enlarging them. The rooms are really small.

Eskaton FountainWood Lodge was a very good facility with caring people who gave good care and paid attention to my mom. We didn't have any complaints about the staff. It was an older community, so it was not fancy looking, but it was very clean and very nice. Mom was able to go out of her room, and somebody brought her back right away.

I did not like Eskaton. It was very cold and sterile and seemed more hospital-like. It just looked depressing. The facility was very dated, and seemed old and unkept. The room was old, dated, small, and depressing. They need to brighten up the furnishings.

While I have not been successful in convincing my mother that she would be well taken care of at an assisted living facility, I continue to get supporting emails and information from Andrea. She definitely understood my frustration and was very caring and supportive even though we are not residents at that facility.

Eskaton was a very gorgeous and well-maintained facility. We spoke with one of the representatives in the lobby area. We told her what we were looking at and price-wise, we didn’t go any farther because we knew we couldn’t afford to put my mother-in-law in a facility. We didn’t go anywhere other than just that first area, but we had to walk from the parking lot to where we were. The place was clean inside and out the facility -- very inviting -- and the grounds were gorgeous. Everybody was very friendly.
