Are the symptoms of frontal temporal dementia basically the same as Alzheimers? I guess what I'd really like to know is will my husband of 40 years who has been diagnosed with FTD likely to forget me and the rest of his family?

My husband who is 63 was diagnosed with FTD approx. 2 and 1/2 years ago. So far only his short term memory has been affected. Will he eventually forget me?
