Staff was terrible to my mother. Meds were late. Her linens were not changed for a week. We've made a formal complaint through the state. NEVER going to this facility again. HORRIBLE.

We had a client admitted for extensive PT rehab. Facility was clean and efficient. Staff was fully invested in care of the client and worked tirelessly to advance the patient’s abilities.

I chose this facility only because it was one of only a few choices that my health provider listed as one that was in network for my coverage. It is beyond me how this facility is allowed to list a 5 star rating. I am 64 years old and was going there for rehab following a hip revision. I am an administrative assistant at a company I have been employed by for 20 years and have 100% faculties. Upon arrival at the facility I was taken to the end of a long dark drab hallway into a room that was the same. Filthy floors and very old looking beds and all minimal furniture looked the same. I am 2 days out of a major hip surgery and a nurse and her assistant proceeded to use a hoyer lift dangling me in the air. I cried in protest as I was very weak and in pain and asked what in the world were they doing. The assistant stated that they had to get my weight and I needed to calm down. I was alone as no family was allowed to come with me due to Covid measures being in place. I was in utter disbelief at the lack of empathy I witnessed and experienced. I was then placed into a very old outdated bed. I asked for an icepack and was told that they didn't know if they had any. As I was laying in the bed and able to take in my surroundings I felt as if I were in a bad dream. The floors were disgusting with built up dirt and dust bunnies throughout. There were two televisions in my room, neither of which worked, and I had no heat or air conditioning so I was told I may be moved in a day or two due to this fact. One of the employees was passing out meals and I heard her loudly say to another employee "I don't care if she likes it, she ordered it and she's going to eat it!" I thought oh my God this place is hell and noone from my family can come in here to see what is going on. There is so much more that I could say, but I was there less than 48 hours as I became very ill and had my granddaughter call an ambulance and I was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital where I was diagnosed with a small bowel obstruction. Bride Brook did nothing for me in regards to my constant vomiting of bile except give me a can of gingerale and tums. Physical Therapy did come to see me on Sunday afternoon, the day after my admission. I had been awake all night throwing up every hour, had not eaten, and was very weak. A male therapist named Jerry asked me to sit up as I would be having PT. I managed to sit on the side of the bed and explained my situation and said I felt too weak to do any PT at the time. He said well I guess you can lay back down for today but when we come back tomorrow if you don't get up we will use the hoyer lift to get you into that chair next to the window. I said is that even a good idea with the surgery that I've just had? Him and the woman with him left the room without answering. My very short stay at this facility was a terrible experience. Most of the aids seemed to be bothered when I asked for something. They managed to find one ice pack in the whole facility. I was at their mercy and literally felt that I was in a prison as I was not allowed any visitors. I pray this stays on the review list. I have shared my experience with anyone that I felt needed to know this information. I pray the state of Connecticut does more to do an extreme overhaul of these facilities or simply shut them down. Not everyone who is taken to these facilities can speak up for themselves or the treatment they may receive. The food that was brought to me even though I couldn't eat it due to being sick was very concerning. It was not healthy in any way and was very low quality. State of Connecticut please do not ignore this review. I am not exaggerating.

The inability of Bride Brook to control their environment caused a flu epidemic at their facility. My wife caught the flu at Bride Brook which turned into pneumonia. They did take her to the hospital, but it was too late and my wife died. I hope for the sake of other patients Bride Brook gets control of their environment.

I am going to be brutally honest because it is essential for nursing homes to improve. Mother passed by for meals - Multiple times in one month. Mother passed by for physical therapy - A huge problem Mother given incorrect medication and over medicated - More often than not. Room cleanliness - HORRIBLE - the floors are disgusting. I had to beg for the room to be cleaned. Horrible, unsanitary and gross. Social Services - Unresponsive Mother excluded from controlling her care - Unacceptable Food quality - good Nursing quality - varies Physical therapists - Excellent if you make them do their job Safety - Not safe - Locked outside on patio, no help with transfers, mother falling, black and blue with strap marks

Bride Brook Health and Rehabilitation Center was terrible. They're very cold. There was not a warm reception. The rooms were very small for two people. I don't believe that the staff had the best interest of the residents. I saw two residents, one begging me to take him out of there and the other one said he was planning his escape.
