I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
Bell-Minor Home is excellent. They have plenty of caregivers. My dad likes the food. The level of care is a lot better there. It is a nursing facility instead of assisted living though. Everybody is on top of everything, and the administrators know what is going on. It is run very well, and it’s very neat and clean.

This is the rudest place I have ever spoken with. I left two messages with the admissions person over a period of time. We weren't really ready to go into a nursing home, so I never pursued it. About 2 months ago I thought I was at their website and set up an on-line appointment to come and visit (I have subsequently found out Bell Minor does not have an on-line set up for appointments, so I'm not sure where I was). Today I called first thing in the morning and the person who answered said we needed to talk with admissions. I left a message and about 3 hours later called because I had not heard back and my husband and I were thinking about driving up tomorrow to take a look. The person referred me to admissions and before she could transfer me I explained that I had left a prior message and since I hadn't heard back was it ok to just drive up there. Next thing I know, the admissions person comes on the line. She tells me that she got my message from earlier but she was the only one in admissions and sometimes it might take 2-3 weeks for her to return a call. Seriously?? Then she says she doesn't have a room for a female. I said, this is not for me but for my husband. Her tone was nasty and she ended with saying, I can't help you, and hung up on me. I was just stunned. If this is how this nursing home operates, I wouldn't want my husband there anyway.

The facility is nice but two day after bring my dad some nice clothes, they were stolen from his room by the very staff who work there. This is unacceptable.

The staff at Bell Minor just left my mother-in-law in one area with a TV and I talked to them about that. I told them that there must be some kind of activity she could do. They told me that they have activities, but I have never seen them do anything. Maybe they have some activities for some people who are responsive. When we visited her there, we need to push her wheelchair around and take her for a walk. I think they should do some activities because they are expensive. I would not recommend this place.

My loved one stayed here
This is the worst place for your loved one. They do not take care of them. They will sometimes get them out of bed. They sit in theie own poop and urine all day. They do not get the proper care as far as what they are suppose to eat or drink. They will fall and you will never know it. They are given Meds. that will knock them out so that they will not be a bother to the staff. They do NOT get taken care of at all. Have to stay on them 24/7 to get them to do anything.
