I visited this facility

I toured Benedictine Madonna Towers for my mom. It was light and bright. The residents appeared to be happy, and the staff frequently greeted them by name. They had a beautiful chapel and that was a selling point for us. They had exercise rooms, too. Plus, they had another room that they used for meetings but could also be rented by families if they were having a big family get-together. That was so appealing because we have a lot of family that lives out of town and if we ever decided to all be together at once, that would be nice to be able to have a facility we could meet in, so that was a selling point. They had a lovely garden, and there was a small library area that Rochester Public Library fills with books and then they replenish the books intermittently. Having the availability to kind of browse for your own books, check things out, and have them rotating so that it's not always the same books, was also appealing. Everyone seemed very friendly and helpful. The few times I was on the elevator, one of the nurses needed to get on, and they seemed very professional, and I was impressed.

This is a horrible place. They wanted to kick my mother out of rehab with only 3 day notice, they did not do any of the things they said they would do for her upon discharge (meals on wheels, county PCA, etc), and I called multiple people from her care team multiple times, even the executive director!!!! NO one CARED or called me back!!!! Also, one night when my mother was sleeping, one of the NA's came in her room was digging around in her drawers of all of her belongings!!!!

Benedictine Madonna Towers is not up to what our standard would be. The paint was peeling off on the ceiling. It isn't very comforting. It seems very sporadic and disconnected. My mother-in-law says the food is average. She said sometimes the food is cold. There is the option to just order off the menu, so even though they have a daily meal for dinners, she said that if you don't like what they're serving, you can just ask for a hamburger. So that was good for her. My mother-in-law is a resident of Benedictine Madonna Towers. Her room is good for her. Unfortunately, it's very warm, and even the lady across the hallway also says that they can't control the heat. My mother-in-law gets the evening sun, so it is very difficult to visit her actually because I have migraines and the heat does not do me any good. There's no heat control. I turned it down to 65 when I visited and then I've come back, and it hasn't changed. It's too warm. My mother-in-law enjoys the library and the exercise classes. I have never seen outdoor spaces as far as a place where you can just sit and visit. We've walked around the facility and there's no place to sit outside. The outdoors is in a bad neighborhood, which is probably why they don't want people staying outside. It's right across from some apartments that have been known to have lots of shootings. The staff makes you wear a mask, but they don't wear masks. The front desk honestly is so messy. It just causes me anxiety. My mother-in-law enjoys what she's doing. The only bad part is that sometimes scheduled activities are canceled and nobody knows about it. I think it's because it's short staffing that they can't keep everything on schedule. The pricing seems pretty standard across the board for what she's saying.

My mom is in a one-bedroom apartment at Benedictine Madonna Towers. She has a refrigerator, a microwave, and a stove in her kitchen. Right across from that, she has her pantry/closet. The grounds are nice. If a person wants to, they could provide raised garden beds for them. The building itself is fine. The concern I have is there's only two elevators for all of those people there. There are 11 floors and that is concerning to me in case of fire. Last summer, one elevator was shut down for months. Then while they fixed that, the other elevator was shut down, too; everything turned out OK. Bobbi is the LPN that works there, and she is awesome. She works very hard, and those residents are her people. There are a couple of good health care workers, but there are also others who are just there to get some money, but I think they have better staff now. They have exercise classes every day (like Sit and Be Fit). There is a nice exercise room and movies. They also have people come in and sing or play instruments for them or do people's fingernails. Their activities are good.

We visited Madonna Towers of Rochester. We were very comfortable there. They gave us a very nice tour. They had a lot of things we would like. They have all the facilities you want. They have the meals, and they have a nurse on duty all the time. The food evidently is very good. I have some friends that live there, and they have a lot of social activities. They have the usual exercise room, library, and a little store where you can buy some odds and ends. It's an older building but they have certainly kept it up well. They have a lot of activities it looks like. I checked out a one-bedroom, two bath. It was called a deluxe bedroom. I didn't really get to meet many of the staff. The lady that does tour really knows what she's doing, and she could answer all the questions I had and so forth. I saw the lobby, the front desk, the exercise room, the dining rooms, a little store right there, a beauty shop and barbershop together, and their chapel. I found them very nice.

My mother came here to receive more care. She had dementia and was a fall risk. They wouldn't allow her to use a walker even though she that's all she knew. She fell 6 times in 9 weeks and died. They wouldn't even try to let her use it until her 6th and final fall. Staff was hard to find. Very sad situation.

Madonna Towers is lovely, huge, and I'm on their waiting list. Everything was wonderful, they treated me well, and I liked what they offered. They have a chapel, they have activities, they have transportation, and they were doing some remodeling. The staff was very good.

Madonna Towers took care of my mother-in-law quite well. They gave her stuff to do while she was there, and they had good food. It was kind of a distance when you came in the front door to go to her room, but it was fine. They had one van to take them to different stuffs. It was a nice place, and the help was fairly good. It could have been a little more staff as there were a lot of people to take care of per person.

Madonna Towers is very nice. It has been here a long time. They’re well-equipped to manage and handle assisted living situation as well as independent and nursing care. It is a transitional place. Food is very good. I’ve been there for activities and it is very nice. The other thing that is nice about this facility is that it has a chapel.

I visited this facility

I visited this assisted living facility for one of my friend's parents in 2010 summer. First of all I would like to say that the place is conveniently located in NW of Rochester, close to shopping area. At the first sight I told 'wow'. The entrance and the surrounding areas are full of green and shades of trees. It was so peaceful that I liked it even before I entered. There is a pretty organized and vast reception area. The staff was very helpful and friendly. She asked about our priorities and explained the different options we could get over there. I must admit that Madonna tower is pretty vast. Very well organized, clean and tidy. They provide facilities for seniors who are 62 years or above. They have plenty of options to choose from. It is almost a year my friend's parents are living there. As I have heard they are taken care of by well experienced and friendly staffs. They have medical units. Their own buses to transport residents and many other facilities. I definitely recommend Madonna Tower if you are looking for a home like atmosphere and skilled observation for your elderly relatives.
