Clayton Oaks Living was excellent but expensive. I think it was too big, and we wanted something small for my mom, no more than six people. However, it was kind of a resort for seniors. I would like to live there. The staff were excellent. They're very informative, they have kept in contact with me quite often, and they're very nice. They had a salon, a massage parlor, a snack area, and a gift shop. The layout was very nice and very spacious. The cleanliness was excellent.

My loved one has been at this facility for over 3 years. He has had no issues but there is a new crew that has come in. The Director, Debbie, is forward, does not return calls, seems to be "all work" and no "care for people", and many of her changes are unwelcomed. If it is not broken, fixing it, will break it.

My mother is in memory care at Clayton Oaks Living. The people there are very nice. It's a very reasonable price with all the amenities that it comes with. The hospitals and the pharmacies are down the street. The location is really good for what my mom needs. For the price, you can't beat it. Compared to where I currently live, it's almost $1000 cheaper with more stuff that they offer my mother. Her room is a good size. It's a one-bedroom, like a suite. She has a restroom, a closet, and a TV. If you can't provide furniture, they provide it for you. They have a walking area and a patio. They have a section for all the residents to hang out in, like a big lobby with a big TV. They have activities in the lobby. It's nice. The staff is awesome, especially the nurses. The nurses take good care of my mom, always giving me calls if anything happens. They're very upfront about what's going on with her. They keep me informed and let me know everything. The food is not the best, but for what my mother needs because of her diabetes and stuff like that, it's good. They make sure that the food is good for her to eat health-wise. Ever since she's been there, her cholesterol, her diabetes, everything got better because she's eating a lot healthier. The taste is not the best, but she has to limit salt and that's what they make sure that they do. They cater to special diets.

The Clayton Oaks Living place was very nice. The individual that took me around was very informative to me and showed me different things they have there. It was very pleasant. The staff members were nice. I wish the closet was a little bit more, but the rooms were nice. It was a great place. I have no complaints and no negativity about it. The dining area was nice, kind of restaurant style. They were doing something, they were playing bingo when I went through there. Overall, it's a good location and I liked the cleanliness.

My mother is moving into Clayton Oaks Living. It's convenient. I think it's the perfect fit for my mother, and it's conveniently located near my residence. The staff is very nice, very cooperative, and very helpful. I think that they really care, and they're very well organized. The landscape is very nice. The interior of the building is very nice. I like the amenities that they have for the residents. It's a four-star organization, I really like it. They have crafting, they have activities for the residents, they have a movie theater indoors, and a very nice dining area.

Clayton Oaks Living was very nice. The business development girl that took me through was very nice and very efficient. It's a little older facility, but it's still very nicely kept. It seemed bigger to me and was very spread out, but they have assisted living in there too. It was a clean facility. They had a nice dining area for the residents with a kind of restaurant feel, right in the center of the facility. They had nice courtyards. I didn't try the food. The rooms were decent sized. It seemed like everybody was in their rooms. I didn't see too much activity going on. The rooms were very nice and more like little apartments. A lot of them had the doors opened on them, so you could see the residents inside, and they seemed very happy. Their TVs were on, and it looked like their own personal pieces of furniture were in there. The rooms were laid out nicely, but I didn't see a lot of them wandering around or out and about. We were on the lull of Covid before it started spiking again here in Texas. I think these people have just gotten so used to being confined to their rooms because of Covid. It looked like a pleasant atmosphere.

My mom moved into Clayton Oaks Living. She is doing good and adjusting quite well. They have a recreational center, and she's playing bingo, she's painting, coloring, and doing things that she didn't use to do. She eats everything when before she will just eat certain things. So, the less the kids are involved, the better she does. When we're not around, she participates more. The staff is good. She had a couple of falls, and they were quick to call me and report it and they checked her out; she wasn't hurt or anything. I asked them to look at her more, they do the rounds twice every two hours at night. They also do bed checks and I told them to please monitor her every hour, and so they have been doing that. She has a nice room. It's a studio apartment but because it's memory care, she doesn't have a refrigerator or anything in there. They bring them out to eat together. We took her furniture, and her bedroom, and everything was set up nicely so she can feel a little bit more like she's at home. This place is closest to the family. It's easy to get to and it's very nice. My brother took my mother to visit the assisted living and it's luxurious in that part. They have a dog groomer, a beauty salon, and a barbershop. The meals are very enticing. My mother had some shrimp linguine, and she never eats shrimp, so we were shocked. They have patios, a gazebo, and they have several seating areas with shade. And the courtyard is very nice. My mother has a view of the courtyard from her bedroom and that's nice to see. They are upgrading and remodeling some areas. Their entrance is very, very nice and very beautiful. She was just there two weeks, and they already know who she is, and they know who I am, so I thought that was pretty cool. When we were moving around there from the rehab place that she was, I happen to tell the director that we hadn't eaten, and we were very hungry. They brought us food for my brother and me. It was a nice turkey sandwich, chips, and everything, and it was good. They didn't have to do that, but they did. When I toured, they had singing and dancing. But for the memories here, they're more closely monitored. They do have the beach ball for them to move around, and they play bingo, they paint and do flower arrangements. They keep it pretty active and busy, and they keep that on a schedule, so, when they take them back to their room, they can take a nap and then they go out back to the recreation room. We had her in this rehab place, and it was a lot more expensive, but it was not a very good place as far as cleanliness and everything. We're paying a lot less here, so we're very happy. And for what they're doing for her, I think that's a very good one.

We chose Clayton Oaks for my mother. At this point in time, she has been unable or minimally able to do any of the activities. Initially she was quarantined, and then her mobility is a real challenge. So far, I'm not aware that she has participated in any of the activities. I'm hoping that in another three-to-four weeks she is a little more confident, maybe her mobility is improved, and she is able to do some of those things. About all I can tell she's done is to go down to the library and look at some books. She has been a very ardent reader, and really that's about it. She hasn't had dinner, lunch, or breakfast in the eating area. She may have been to the bistro, but that probably was just on day one when they were waiting to get her room ready, having things delivered, and the like. The staff has been good. I don't have any complaints at this point. It's been good. The nursing director has been attentive, and I think they've done an above average or more than acceptable job so far.
