Q: What programs or activities do you offer to enrich your residents’ well-being?
A: Full and diverse activity program that includes exercise, cognitive activities, music and dance, art, games, entertainment, etc.
Q: What makes your chef or dining program exceptional? What kind of menu can assisted residents expect?
A: Our chef, Doug, graduated valedictorian from the Culinary Institute of America; he has developed the menu to include fresh fruits and vegetables in season, prime cuts of meat such as filet mignon/prime rib, and fresh fish. Our sous chef, Milo, is also knowledgeable in all aspects of fine dining and can actually carve ice and fresh vegetables! We make everything homemade when possible!
Q: Describe your community's overall population of assisted living residents. What is their average age? What are their favorite things to do?
A: Population ranges from late 60's through 100 years of age; average age- mid 80's
Q: What transportation services do you offer to assisted living residents?
A: We provide transportation for resident trips offered through our arts and entertainment program
Q: What safety features or security measures do you offer to your assisted living residents?
A: Locked community with code access; locked units for residents with cognitive impairment; regulatory protections in areas of fire safety, sanitation, etc.
Q: What places are near the community or within walking distance for assisted living residents to enjoy?
A: Gorgeous town of Spring Lake within walking distance; Beach and Lake 1 mile away; restaurants and shopping -immediate vicinity; banking, drug stores, etc. all within immediate vicinity.
Q: What is your community's care staff-to-resident ratio during daytime and nighttime hours?
A: Our direct care staff during day and evening hours is 10:1. During the sleeping hours the ratio is 16:1.
Q: How do you keep residents’ families informed about their loved ones?
A: Our Director of Clinical services, Cathy, or our Community Relations Director, Carolyn along with any of our licensed practical nurses are always available to speak to families when requested. Our Executive Director, Alexis is available 24/7 to speak to any family members and gives all families her personal cell phone #.
Q: What safety features or security measures do you provide to protect residents who wander?
A: Our 2 memory units are equipped with wander guard systems, locking/alarmed doors, etc.
Q: What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?
A: Each staff member receives on site in-service education annually in areas of safety/corporate compliance/dementia training/new trends in care, activities of daily living, etc.
Q: If your community accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
A: Wellington Estates does not allow dogs and cats to live here but all are welcome to visit!!!
