I like how clean Holiday Madison Meadows was and how nice it looked. The one room that I saw was OK. The only thing that I disliked would have been the price range. The staff was very friendly and sociable and easy to talk to. The inside looked OK, but as far as the outside, I couldn't tell what kind of condition or how old they were. The one room I saw didn't have much more of anything, but for my brother-in-law, you don't need a big room.

Holiday Madison Meadows was a nice facility, but a little older. The tour was good. The staff gave us a nice tour of a couple of different apartments. The number one factor why we didn't take it is because of the traffic getting in and out of the facility. My dad still drives, so we wanted to be kind of careful. We thought the traffic was too heavy for him to be driving on that side of town. The apartments were nice and big. The staff was very nice.

We were very impressed with Holiday Madison Meadows, but it was too large of an area. My husband couldn't have manipulated the campus. My mother had spent some of her final days there, and that's why I was aware of it. It was fine. I remember Mom was entertained usually in the afternoon by some kind of activity. Even though she didn't have a lot of joy at being put away like that, she looked forward to her afternoons. That was when the Wii game was popular and she enjoyed watching the people pretend to bowl and whatnot. Mom enjoyed it, but my husband never got to see it. It was a well-run place when my mom was there and it looked pretty much the same. The exterior had been upgraded. It looked prettier to me when we visited it this time. The room seemed small. For a studio, I felt she was cramped. We saw the empty room when we visited there in September. It seemed a little bit bigger because nothing was in it. It's like a long, narrow room. We were pricing the lowest accommodation. That would probably be our fault. If we asked for a larger place, we would have been given one. I didn't see anything I didn't like about the place. We met two ladies, one was the front greeter and the other one seemed to be the manager, and they both were very accommodating, and they offered us the brochure. They were both very cordial. I saw two activities going on during this visit. We were there right before lunch and they had a morning group. They were chanting and singing or something. They have a hair setter person who comes upon appointment. They had a pool. It's near shopping and restaurants. It's three miles to the nearest hospital and that's a good hospital.

Holiday Madison Meadows was nice. I liked it. The staff were very nice, very courteous, and attentive to our questions. They really answered them very well so you can understand them. The size and the layout of the apartment was nice and roomy. What I loved about the bedrooms were they were large enough and they were very nice. I also loved the layout of it, because you could sit out on a balcony or out on the patio (the patios are in the front while the balconies are in the back). The balcony was a nice size that you sit out on so you could have an enjoyable evening. I have a walker and I walked pretty slow during the tour and they saw that. So, they walked right beside me to where I could understand what they were saying. The building looks fairly brand new. It's very clean and sturdy, and they had the grasses cut neatly. It was pretty.

Holiday Madison Meadows is wonderful. The food here is excellent. There hasn't been a meal that I haven't eaten. We got a new activities director and she's also wonderful. They provide transportation to our doctors. They have a beauty shop and a bar that serves drinks. We have cleaning people who come in once a week to clean our bathrooms and sweep the floors. I just have a bed and a bathroom. There's no kitchen. So, you could buy your own microwave or coffeemaker. There's also a walking area, a pool, and washers and dryers.

I'm living in Holiday Madison Meadows. There is plenty of staff here, and they share all the duties. They clean rooms, serve food, and pour coffee. They help immensely. They remember little things so that you don't have to tell them anymore. They know what you want for breakfast, and that is very nice. The meals are excellent. We have choices of meals. It's an excellent kitchen. I would say it's restaurant quality. We have an exercise room, and a game room where you could go in and play games, and they do bingo there, too. Then they have an area where you can build puzzles. Now all the puzzles that they build, they frame and hang them in the hallways. It's beautiful. The grounds are well-kept. There's a big, heated swimming pool and there are palm trees. It's just a beautiful atmosphere. I'm in the studio room, and I have everything I need. They also have one bedrooms. My studio only has half a fridge, but some of those studios have a two-burner, a microwave, and a fridge, but it costs more to get that. The activities are good. They have a shuttle driver here that works Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. They have rounds that will take you to stores. If you have medical stuff that you have to go to, any day during the week you could go as long as they are before 2:00 in the afternoon, so that's a big plus. They go pretty often. They have trips to the theater and trips to the movies.

I chose to live here in Holiday Madison Meadows, because it was available, it's a smaller community, it met my budget, and the amenities were above what I expected. There's a heated swimming pool, a heated spa, plenty of places to stroll and walk inside (no steps whatsoever anywhere), and a shuttle service that takes the folks to doctors or shopping and so forth. There's a schedule for it, so you have to sign up for it. The meals are plentiful and delicious. The dinners are on time. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included and you have choices. The staff is spectacular. They remember your name, what you like, and what you don't like. It's amazing. Some of them are younger staff and I got to compliment them because it's their first job in life and I think they're doing a great job. I haven't had the chance to partake in the activities, but people look busy here. I see them doing aerobics, exercises in the pool, and a lot of stuff. The value you get from the money is exceptional.

I toured Holiday Madison Meadows. I think that they were for people that needed help and I wasn't there yet. They were wheelchair bound or they were using a walker or a cane, and I didn't like that. I couldn't see myself seeing that all day, every day. It would make me feel sad in some way. The tour was nice. The people were very friendly. They walked up to you and kind of introduced themselves. All of the ones that I saw did that. They even invited me to come back and have lunch, so I could see how the food tastes because they said most of the time, the food is what sells the place. The place was nice, clean, and neat.

Holiday Madison Meadows was a cute place. The people were very nice. Some of the residents were quite satisfied there, and some were not. I think a lot of that probably has to do with it being understaffed. They didn't have many activities because they currently don't have an activities director. They also don't have a driver currently, so transportation is not available. Their food situation was pretty limited. There were some things in the facility that could be updated.

Madison Meadows is a little bit rundown. I feel that their idea of a workout room is kind of a joke because it has just very little stuff. It has a couple of bikes and a reclining bike, and that's it, they have no other equipment other than a couple of dumbbells on a table. It just didn't fit my needs, for me personally. The staff seemed very, very nice. The lady that gave me the tour seemed very nice and everybody that we encountered seemed very nice, but so I can't complain about the staff. The dining room was closed due to COVID. They said that they have a patio but it's just a space that's maybe 2 feet wide by 5 feet long. You can't even get a lawn chair in there, and you're facing a brick wall. It's not a patio, it's just a teeny tiny atrium and it has no grass and nothing in it, except for dirt.

I looked at Madison Meadows. It's an older community as far as the facility goes. It used to be the old Gompers Rehabilitation Center years and years ago for those of us that were here then. It's still fine, but it's laid out more in a cottage-type arrangement, which didn't appeal to me because of the walking involved and stuff. It just seemed like there was more area for parking. They gave us a tour and lunch. They had the chef come in and the food was pretty good. The tenants seemed to be open enough, but it just didn't flip my switch. They have a pool and a movie room. I only met with the tour director and the server who provided our food and they seemed fine. The building was quite old. They were painted and everything, but they looked old.

Madison Meadows was a wonderful place. I loved it. I wanted my mom to go there quite badly actually. They were wonderful people. It was roomy enough for her. They were spacious. They were very nice people. The lady that took me on the tour of that place was just so wonderful. I can't describe how wonderful it was. I thought my mom would love it. The rooms were nice. You could bring your own furniture and stuff. It was like a holiday retreat or something like that for old people. As we went through the tour, they were playing in one of the rooms. They were playing like Trivial Pursuit, but they were doing it like a game show where they would raise their hands and then say the answer and they got like a marshmallow or I don't know what they were giving them. It was great. Their dining room was wonderful and they had a great menu. They had two different things you could get a day like for breakfast. If you didn't want eggs and bacon, you could have oatmeal or something like that. There was a variety of food. They had their own little kitchen area around the holidays. People who like to bake or whatever could go in there and bake your own food and you could have your own fridge. It was just great. They had a pool and they were doing some old lady jazzercise in the pool. It was great.

Madison Meadows seems to have all of the things I need. I have a studio that is spacious and clean. It seems just about right for a studio. They have a lot of different activities and different things. They have a nice little library, a nice place to exercise, a pool, a courtyard, a hot tub, and they have a nice area to walk my dog around. They make food that I like to eat every day.

Stephanie at Madison Meadows was wonderful. She was really easy to work with. They were very accommodating. Everything was clean, but it's old and didn't look fresh. They do a nice job keeping it up though, and it is enough for me to consider moving there. It is just not new. I like their courtyards. They have apartments that are not part of the main building. They are separate, and they have their own little patios and courtyards and I like that.

We visited Madison Meadows, and it was wonderful tour. It is like little cottages. It was very well kept and cute. I like the way it was set-up. It was very convenient the way things were located. It was a really nice place. They have crafts, bowling, and a sewing circle. Their chef is good. I was able to taste a sample because they made cookies for everybody who takes a tour. They were delicious, and they were still warm. When we came in, the first thing you see in the lobby is the sign that said "welcome." I cannot think of anything that they could have done any better. They have a home health company within the place, right there on the premises. They work right with the people as well, but that is extra.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My brother is in Madison Meadows. I call it independent living with perks. It's a nice place. They offer very nice extra services that my brother is enjoying, and we like his apartment really well. He has his own apartment there. They're quite attentive, courteous, and thoughtful, and they inform you about what's going on in their facility and what they will do and what they won't do. When you start at independent, you can add on to the basic level price, kind of an ala carte price list. You can get an almost full assisted living if you go ahead and purchase the ala carte item. Everybody seems very nice and helpful to me. The leasing representative was very, very helpful. I like her a lot. She has a great personality and she's a really good asset for them to have there. What's nice is my brother is wheelchair-bound and he had a stroke. He has to have things at the right level and he has to have real nice flooring and they have very nice flooring. They completely repainted the room. They fixed everything up very nicely. His apartment has a nice kitchen, which he doesn't need because he gets three meals a day, and they bring them to his room for him if he so desires. He can go to the front dining area if he decides now that the Covid-19 restrictions have been slightly lifted and everyone is vaccinated. My brother was vaccinated before he ever went in there. He can come and go as he pleases. He has a lovely back door and a front door. He can open his back door and go out on his little porch area. Right out of his porch area, he has a little pond that flows toward the swimming pool area. He's also 10 steps from the laundry facility, which is very well kept, clean, very accessible, and free of charge. Twice a month, they come in and fully clean his room for him. They also give him a complete 5-star locator device that he can wear around if he so chooses. Wherever he is, he can call for help. Even if he's along the sidewalk outside of the Madison Meadows area, he could still use that call button and get help. They have a nice little shower in his room. He has a lovely bathroom and they have all the adequate handicap adequate facility in the bathroom with a walk-in shower. He can maneuver to get himself in that shower. They were nice enough to install a nice big bar and rail by his bathroom toilet. They're quite accommodating, plus its only 5 minutes from my own home, so I can get to my brother quickly if I need to. It's great and he seems to like it there already. They have games, community activities, and he can either go or not go, and he can go in and register and tell them where he wants to go and they will take them along with others, out to grocery stores, or what have you. He needs medical transport. He has to go in his wheelchair, so they will take him to the doctor if he so requests it. I call it independent living with assisted living perks. They're having their spring special and you get $500 off for April, May, and June of your monthly expense, so we got that. The move-in fee was less considerably than three or four of the other ones that I investigated. All of the other places I looked at were unfurnished, so we had to buy furniture and televisions. At Madison Meadows, they include cable TV, so that was nice. All we had to do was buy him a nice digital television set and plug it in. My brother said their food is really good. He said, "I've got more than enough to eat three times a day, so I don't need any extra food." The only drawback is their parking, but that's because it's a large all ground-level facility itself. Most places have parking problems around here anyway. I haven't interacted with that many people, but they're attentive and thoughtful and they maintain a real jovial attitude. Everybody's very friendly. It's an old building, but the fact that it's spread out nicely and it doesn't have all those levels, it's just one single level, I think that part is great.

My brother is really happy right now. He's been in Madison Meadows for just about a month now. They are really friendly and helpful. His room is perfect for what he needs. It's not really big, but it was right for him. I have no complaints. They fixed everything up before he got in there, and everything was good. I do know that they have activities available, but he hasn't participated in any because of his condition right now. They have plenty of food; sometimes it's a bit too much, actually. They have a pool, an exercise room, a laundromat, and a library.

They have been remodeled really nicely. The dining area looks very nice. The surroundings are nice. The building seems very well taken care of. They have an exercise room, a pool, and a special-events center that we are going to hopefully get back to once the restrictions have been lifted.

I did an in-person tour of Madison Meadows. They were very instructive. I got the chance to see the facility. It was a very positive experience. They had a very nice facility. It's close in town, the rooms looked great, and their common areas were very attractive. They had a pool and a hot tub. I was very impressed with their setup. I didn't see anything that seemed out of place. Everybody I met was very competent and friendly. The menu looked extensive, but I wasn't there when they were serving meals.

I like Madison Meadows. It's a little older and the finishes are a little outdated, but that's to be expected at that price-range. I got a very warm feeling from the girl that showed us around. The rooms were sufficient-sized, I like the layout of the place that it's one story. It has an intimate community as opposed to huge campuses. They have the usual activities like bingo, arts and crafts, movie nights. There's an area with a TV that they could share with other residents like on a friday night they could watch a movie or have a party.

My mother didn't like the apartment we looked at Madison Meadows. It was a studio dwelling, and to my mom it looked too small or cramped and didn't have a kitchen at all. So if she wanted to prepare something for herself outside of the dining area, she wouldn't be able to. That alone deterred her from this community. The staff we met there was also pleasant.

Madison Meadows' staff is very nice, but the one-bedroom is a bit too small for all my furniture. It is not suitable for me. They go on trips and go to the movies. I had a meal there which was nice and pleasant. The food was OK, but it was not the greatest; it was edible. It was a nice place, but the room was too small for me. It would be nice if the landscaping was more green and that they put in a some more flowers. A touch of color would make the place look much brighter.

We found Madison Meadows for my mom, and she will be moving in. I had a great visit, everyone was really friendly, it looked nice and clean, and the people seemed to enjoy it there. The staff was super fantastic, very helpful, and hospitable during the whole process. It looks well put together, clean, and it's a smaller community, so they know the people that live there, which is something that really stands out to me. The rooms come with all the necessities needed for independent living. Some of the studios are pretty small, but when you put furniture in, they come together nicely. The dining area looked nice. The people were engaged in conversation and were having fun when I visited.

We placed my friend at Madison Meadows. She was terminal when we put in there, and she was only there for about three days. I wasn't thrilled with it. They rented us a small apartment and we also had to pay for a caregiver on top of that. We had to sign a contract for three months for the apartment, which I wasn't aware of until we got in there. The care was good, but I felt they nickel-and-dimed us. We took some of her things out and we left some that we'd come back to get a month later because we're paying for three months anyway. When we came back, all our stuff was cleared out and nobody knew what happened to it. I wouldn't recommend it. She was there mostly for hospice. Her room was spacious and clean.

I moved into Madison Meadows. It’s OK and serves its purpose. They have all kinds of activities, games, and different kinds of things. The people are very nice and very helpful. The food is good, but for me it’s not enough; it’s fine for the older people. They do a lot of singing, music playing, movie nights, and stuff like that. The rooms are small, basically a studio apartment, and unfurnished, but they have cable. They come in once a week, change the sheets, and do light housekeeping. They have a lot of vegetables on the menu, but I don’t like green beans.

I thought Madison Meadows was a bait-and-switch because they had advertised it at $1,500, then they turn around and say it's $2,200. They showed me a one-bedroom apartment, which was practically the same amount as other little rooms. The first room they showed me was their special for the month at $1,500, and it was so small. The second room was a little bit bigger and better but that cost $2,200. They showed me a one-bedroom that was nice, and I really liked it. The place was clean and the manager was nice, but there wasn't any security there. We walked in and there was no one at the front desk, so we just walked around. Someone could just walk in off the street and start walking around the place with no one to at least greet them. The dining room was beautiful, and there was a room where you could use the oven if you didn’t have one. The seating area, the grounds, and the pool were nice.

Madison Meadows looked very nice, clean, and very attractive. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was inside. I had tremendous rapport with the lady that escorted me around. I had nothing against it. The residents were sitting around doing things together. I've been looking at many other places, and this was the nicest I've seen. The dining area was quite nice. The disadvantage, though, is I won’t have my own washer and dryer. Another disadvantage was that the outside area was small, so you're always in a common area. The most important thing about this place is you can rent per month.

Madison Meadows is incredible, but it was way too expensive for me. The people seemed happy, and the place is very pleasant. They're very friendly, and the place is like a country club. I was not impressed with the rooms because they were so small. The dining room is unbelievable, and the food is wonderful. The waitresses are dressed up like waitresses in a 5-star restaurant. They don't have menus on the table, but they tell you what's available on a small activity sheet, and you can eat as much or as little as you want. What I had was absolutely delicious, and they bring a tray around and they have a cart of desserts for later as well as a beverage cart that comes around. It's unbelievable. Another thing that they do while you're in the process of making up your mind is they invite you to come and share in the activities, have free lunch once in a while, and participate in their special holidays and parties to give you a feel of everything. If I had money, I'd be there in a heartbeat. You can even have your pets there, and there's a charge for that, but how many people move into something like that and they don't know what they do with their dogs that they've have for 5 or 10 years.

Everyone at Madison Meadows was really nice, and the residents and employees were very friendly, but to me, it was a little rundown and that kind of turned me off. Other than that, everyone was just super nice and very cordial. It's an old place, but everyone there seemed very happy. The unit I looked at was not convenient and was not what I need because it had a very small living room and did not have a washer and dryer which is a must for me. In the bedroom, it had a big window fan which indicated to me that maybe the air conditioning didn't work. It just wasn't what I wanted, but everyone was wonderful and very pleasant, and the residents seemed very happy. It wasn't a horrible place, but it just wasn't for me.

My grandfather is in Madison Meadows. The room is a bit small like a tiny studio apartment. It's basically almost like a dorm room in a way, so I wasn't impressed by it. There's not much storage space, either. As far as I know, the food was okay. They serve things that he doesn't like to eat, so he's not too happy about that.

At Madison Meadows, they only have studios and one-bedrooms, and those were very small. It was a very pleasant atmosphere. The people who run the place, like the managers and the sales rep, they were very welcoming and very nice. However, there was very little ambience. The food was good. They did offer three meals. They were in the process of doing a lot of remodeling, but it looked like it was well kept. Ordinarily it’s very well kept and it seems like a very pleasant place, but it is just not my taste or my price.

I visited Madison Meadows. The building is older, and the tile on the floor is older. You need to go outside to get to your apartment, and the walkway was a little unsafe. The staff was lovey and very nice. However, the price was comparable to the another newer place I saw. The apartments were also older, but the one I saw was spacious enough.

Madison Meadows looked like a social place where mom could feel really comfortable. They had a nice place to stay where she would be taken care of well. When I was there, they had a little sale on jewelry. They served meals three times a day. The staff was friendly, caring, informative, and seemed to really like their jobs.

We visited Madison Meadows for my mother-in-law. Everybody seemed nice. The facility was very nice. The age range was decent. They took us to a couple of different apartments. They were nice, and accommodating. I really like Madison Meadows. It was a very nice facility. However, out of all the locations we saw, their location was a little bit older as far as inside the apartments, and the appliances. They showed us one that was not remodeled, and one that was. The remodeled one was much nicer. Then after comparing that to some of the other locations, it wasn’t quite as nice as some of the other locations.

I looked at Maddison Meadows. The staff is very nice. The rooms were very small-- like a motel room with a bathroom. It was too pricey. The amenities were nice, you got three meals a day, and light housekeeping. They have a little convenience store.

My dad was at Madison Meadows. It was a nice place, but we needed to move Dad from there because he can no longer do independent living. The staff really did a good job with taking care of him. They offer different things for the residents, like trips to the stores and doctors' visits, bingo, music, and other different things going on.

The problem I have is trying to find an inexpensive one. The least expensive one that I could find was over at the Phoenix area at the first place that I went to which is Madison Meadows. They have at least one studio apartment that was the cheapest. The only thing I had to say is the people were very lovely and very nice. We had a luncheon there, and that was quite nice as well. The food was wonderful and excellent. The only problem I had is that it is too far away, and it is much older than all the other places. I think they were in the process of updating some of their places, but the rooms were quite old. They had entertainment that came in, and they also had games and other things that people participate in on the inside like bingo. They had all kind of things. The cleanliness was OK, but I think they need to work on it. When I first walked in, there was kind of a musky smell about it, and I think it is mainly because it is older. The people seem to be very happy there. They have a lot of independence and room to put a little garden area in some of them, and they enjoy that. Their work ethics are just fine. In fact, they contacted me a few times to ask me to come back. But I had to say that I prefer to stay in this area. It was nice, and the people were nice. I was able to talk to one of the workers there, and they were in the process of remodeling the units. For the area and for their people, I thought they were very nice. They accommodated me quite nicely. There were other people waiting there for their appointment, and I think they are doing very well.

Most of the retirement community are three or five stories high, but Madison Meadow is all on the ground floor and easy to get around. The staff is very good. The only thing I don’t care for is the way they have the dining room set up. TIt takes at least an hour to get a meal. Managers keep changing -- good ones and bad ones. I have been here for five years now.

I have stayed at Madison Meadows for only about two months, and I was not happy. The conversations there were about who got taken away by an ambulance, who was in the hospital, and who was dying. It was too depressing for me. It was not my cup of tea. The people were much older than I was. The apartments do not have a kitchen. They only have a bedroom and a living room. It was not like a home. They had activities but not many. It was not for me. The food was good though, and it was nice and clean.

Hi, I'm Katie, I work at Holiday Retirement's Home Office in Oregon. Thank you so much for leaving a sincere review of Madison Meadows. Although I'm disappointed that you did not enjoy your time there, I appreciate your feedback. We clearly can't control what our residents talk about or are interested in, but we can control our amenities and activities program, so your opinion is very valuable. I passed your feedback to our Resident Relations department for their review.

Great place. My father likes it. Unfortunately, the outdoor smoking section is situated right in front of 5 residences and in the inner courtyard. Most residents have to pass by these nicotine addicts 3 times a day to get to the dining room or game rooms. Really unfortunate. It is impossible for many residents to sit outside or open their windows due to the 2nd hand smoke. We will most probably be relocating my father as he is very sensitive to the 2nd hand smoke and we want to encourage him to get outside more. I've heard another resident saying the same thing. Too bad smokers rights trump the healthy elderly living there. I say put the smoking section in the alley or parking lot away from windows and other residents. These are frail elderly who should be protected fron, not subjected to, heavy 2nd hand smoke.

Provider Response

Hello, we are sorry that our smoking area interfered with your father's daily activities. We do our best to allow the residents to be as independent as possible.

I went to a place called the Madison Meadows. The studios that I saw were a little small. Then I saw another one that was slightly bigger, and then the one bedroom was better and the two bedrooms very nice. All of them opened onto a courtyard. So, people could have a little bit of furniture and plants by the door. Also, they usually had another door that was indoors. The people were very friendly and nice. The people that I talked to said they really liked it. The food was OK. One thing that interested me was that, I do have long-term health care that had the component for home care and they said that I could use it there. If I reached the point where I would need something like assisted living or a homecare was appropriate, I could do it there. I could bring my own people in or hired my own nurse. That was really nice.

Madison Meadows was a very nice place, clean, and well-kept. However, just by looking around, I didn't feel as if it was the place for me. They have a tremendous program of everyday activities, but I didn't see a lot going on when I was there. I saw a lot of card and board games, handcrafts. I was looking for more active activities. You have like a suite where you have just a bedroom and a small living area. You have large facilities. It seemed like a very pleasant dining environment, and they gave me a pecan pie. That was delicious.

The people at Madison Meadows were very friendly. Everybody was really happy in there. They have a large dining room there, and they offer three meals a day, and if you want, you can get snacks. I'm a diabetic, and I can get special for that, and they'll work with you. They have a waitress who goes around and asks what choice you want from the menu that day. They're so friendly. They also offer very good food. They have a book club, and they have a room where they have movies. If you want to go to a movie theatre, you can sign up, and they'll make arrangements to get you there. The staff was excellent. The lady I spoke to had worked for years doing the same thing, so she knew everything. She answered everything I asked.

My mom is in Madison Meadows. It's a great facility. It's wonderful. Right now, this place works well for us and the family is happy with it. Also my mother seems to be comfortable here. They have different apartment sizes. We have her in one-bedroom which has a living room, a kitchen area, a bathroom and a bedroom. They provide three meals a day. Everybody is encouraged to go outside to the dining hall. The people there like their food. It's okay. The kitchen always has their challenges, but I guess they do alright. For activities, they have regular entertainment, bingo, exercises, etc. They go to casino and sometimes they go out to eat at restaurants. Overall, I would rate it pretty high because it's unique. It's pretty ideal in many ways.

My friend moved into Madison Meadows about a year ago. The food is okay, the apartments are very small. They include cleaning services however, don't expect much. The apartment isn't cleaned the way I would expect. Now on to All Care Services.... talk about taking you to the cleaners. They really know how to charge the $$$ if your family member needs extra care I would suggest moving them to an assisted living facility. The cost to check blood sugar, pressure, bring food when sick, showering, dressing will drain your account!!!! Bed bugs.... yes, I've seen many mattress out once on the rooftop they said the sun would kill the bugs. Dreadful place stand clear and stay away!

Madison Meadows is about 3 miles from the VA. That's where I will go when I'm all set. They have a wonderful dining room. I have eaten there before when they invited me to come and they served extremely good food. The facility and the apartments are extremely nice. They do have activities. They have entertainers coming in for their residents. They also have their own transportation service and that would come in handy for me whenever I need to go to the VA.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My MIL lived here for close to 1 year (2012"”2013). When we toured the facility, the staff was friendly, the residents seemed happy and there were lots of activities planned for them. The Marketing representative was also very nice and she made it clear that this was for independent senior living, but they had a company, All Care, on-site to help with basic care/nursing needs. So, the apartment company and the nursing company are 2 separate entities within the community and they bill separately. I can't really complain about either staff in our situation, in terms of them being friendly and helpful (until the very end). The apartments were okay. A few different options to choose from, but certainly not fancy or updated. You get what you pay for on that front. But my MIL wasn't used to granite countertops and travertine flooring anyway, so the style of the apartment was not a big concern. Here are our main 2 issues: #1 Bed bugs; #2 Nickel and Diming. When we moved my MIL into the apartment, we bought all new stuff. Except for her clothes and a few toiletry items, everything else was brand new that we brought into her apartment down to the pencils, paper and silverware. And of course, she never had bed bugs in her previous home. So, a few months into her living there, we go over to change her sheets and there were bed bugs everywhere. Talk about feeling skeezed out! Her mattress was bought at the Mattress Firm and her linens from Bed, Bath & Beyond, so those bugs didn't come from there. The Madison Meadows staff worked with us to get an exterminator out and take care of the problem and we were able to save the mattress, but it was just a creepy ordeal. I've heard from previous reviews of this complex, that this has been an issue in the past. So, that's something to consider. It's not like you walk in to tour an apartment and find its infested with bugs. They are sneaky and hide in the floorboards, etc. I think this complex needs to get very aggressive about combating this problem. About once a month, we'd see a mattress thrown out near the dumpsters and it's hard to say if it was due to bed bugs or a resident passing away, but it just seemed curious. But my MIL had bed bugs in her apartment and I'll leave it at that. Our second big complaint is we are currently being nickel and dimed by their corporate office. We were told by the manager that they required a 30-day notice, which we provided. We put it in writing and had the manager sign and date the letter as proof that they received our notice. Now, 4 months later, we are getting bills for the prorated portion of the month that she moved out in. Basically, we gave notice by December 15th because she moved out January 15th (30 days notice). But now, their corporate office is saying we needed to give notice by December 1st because the MONTH she moved out was January. It doesn't matter that she moved out halfway through Jan, they want a 30- day notice from the first of the MONTH the resident moves out, not the specific date within that month. That's not what we were told. They are coming back now, saying that in the rental contract, this is stated. Yeah, okay. But when the property manager accepts the notice we give her and instructs us that this is the correct procedure, we didn't run to our copy of the rental agreement to make sure she wasn't lying!! In hind-sight, I guess we should have, but we never had problems with the staff previously so we took her at her word. Silly us!! We paid the first half of the month of January that my MIL lived there and now they want us to pay for the second half of the month after she moved out. (Side note: I'm really ticked off that I spent so much time cleaning her apartment when she moved out because I had that place cleaner than what it was like when my MIL moved in. We even donated some of her home goods/décor items to the community and left chairs and a table in the back patio for the new resident. We had cleaned up the back patio and put pavers down over the bare dirt so she'd have a nice patio area.) If they were not trying to nickel and dime us, I never would have written this review. Their send-off certainly left us with a bad taste in our mouth for this community.

all in all i would have to say that there are far better options out there for your loved ones. this facility likes to pride themselves off of comfort and respect for their residents, but my mother and i were very unhappy with the outcome. the food seems like it is frozen, thawed out and then steamed. (i imagine it to be like what jail food is like.)the staff seem constantly immersed in their cell phone gadgets and rarely make call backs. there was a point where my mother was having some problems with her phone line and when i was unable to get through i attempted to get a hold of a staff member. needless to say i did not receive a return phone call until two days later and didn't receive an explanation until i came up for a visit. we have dealt with worse so i would say that if you're looking for something with mediocre pricing and basic care then this is the place for you. if you are looking for good aide at a "fairly" reasonable price, i would look elsewhere. that's what we did and we are quite content with that decision.

This is an independent living facility"”a smaller place with about 100 apartments, all on one level. It's in a central location"”with many amenities for residents and visitors in the neighboring community. The parking lot is right at the main entrance. But once you walk in, the facility has a good feel, with nice tiled details and a reception desk, sometimes staffed by volunteers to greet and direct you. There is also a pleasant sitting area. The whole place is very clean and pretty"”and the back yard, in particular, feels peaceful. Amenities include a swimming pool and jacuzzi and covered gazebo, with a brook and bridge on the grounds in the back where residents can walk and congregate. Inside is also a spacious library and activity room with a big screen TV, pool table and exercise machines; residents use it frequently. The living quarters are studios and a smaller or larger one-bedrooms. All are spacious and come furnished if desired. There is a laundry service available for sheets and towels. Activities are offered, along with a transportation bus that takes residents to shopping and events in the neighboring community. There is also a beauty shop onsite, open limited hours. The dining room is very nice"”bright with lots of windows. The seating, however, is not contemporary, offering only plain padded chairs. The food is good"”prepared by a staff chef who cooks from scratch. Residents can choose from a number of selections each day. There is also a bistro and snack bar, decorated in Coca-Cola memorabilia, where residents and visitors can get food after hours. Residents who need additional care are encouraged to get it from either inside or outside caregivers. The caregivers on staff are discreet. Most of the residents are fairly active and mobile. This place might be the best for active seniors who are fairly alert and social. Prices start at $1,500 for small studios, and increase for larger units"”less expensive than other comparable spots in the area. Private pay is accepted, along with Section 8 and some veterans' benefits. Pets are allowed, and cable is included in the cost of housing.

My parents lived in one unit there and moved to another unit, only to learn it was infested with bed bugs and they suffered bites and doctor visits to treat. Facility delayed treatment of situation and refused to compensate for items that were recommended to be disposed of. We also learned they had had a previous bed bug problem and had taken responsibility but now they won't. Finally had to move our parents from there. While other conditions were not optimal, they were ok, but this was the last straw.
