The first impression I had of Brookdale Mt. Lebanon was that it was a quietly cheerful place. The staff was cheerful and the residents were cheerful. There are nearly 200 residents there. They have little dogs on leashes. I hear there are cats. The place is furnished in a way that is comfortable and safe for seniors who have physical difficulties, as I do. As things go, the cost is moderate, considering the highs and the lows of this line of business. I only interacted with two people and they were competent. There's just a relaxed, contented quality about the whole place and everybody that I met and they invited us to come back to try their meals. We saw two studio apartments. One was much smaller than the other. I loved the small one, and that's the one we're still talking about. I did not see a list of activities, but I didn't need to. From what we walked around and saw, there is a little bit of everything.

Brookdale Mt. Lebanon was very attractive. It was very clean and modern-looking. The staff said that the assisted living part had 60 people and the independent living part had 200, and that appealed to me. There seemed to be a lot of people who were just retired and living there and didn't have serious issues. They were kind of healthy-looking. The staff said there were numerous bridge games. I saw a nice-looking dining room there. The whole place is very clean-looking. We saw a studio, and it looked very nice. I just had a very positive feeling about it. They had a large library.

I toured Brookdale Mt. Lebanon. The staff were all very nice. I was there twice. The first time I went, the staff showed me an apartment. A couple of days later I called to say I would take it, and she said there was somebody ahead of me. She had me come out again to look at another one. She told me to leave a message with this other person and they would send me around. When I got there, that other person had an appointment that day, although she showed me the room. The room that she showed me was not what I wanted. She showed me a model and that was nice. A couple of days later, the lady called me back and offered me one just like the model for a reduced price, which was a good price, but she just caught me on a day when I wasn't feeling well and I was worried about the money, so I turned the apartment down. The community was nice. They were set up on doing a Kentucky Derby. They have an exercise room and a swimming pool. The dining room was nice. Everything was nice, everything was clean looking, and everything was very, very classy as far as decoration is concerned. The rooms were all nice, but I did not care for the studios. Their studios would be a little bit cheaper, but the one the staff showed me wasn't. It was almost the same as the one-bedroom. I didn't try their food, but their chef used to work for Peter's Place. When I was there, the chef was having a meeting with some of the residents. I also saw a few residents walking around, and the few that spoke to me said, I love it here. I liked it.

Brookdale Mt. Lebanon was very nice. The staff and the rooms were very nice. The meals were good and the people were very informative. They even reached out and talked to me twice after that. They were very easy to deal with. They had a lot of activities and a lot of things to do. They had mostly everything I wanted. If I were to choose a place today, that's where I would choose.

We saw Brookdale Mt. Lebanon. There are a lot of residents there, and a nice environment. They were a little higher in price. There are a lot of residents out when we went to visit. The manager there was very nice talking to us, a Lady who showed us around, they had different sized rooms available. When we did take a tour, someone was smoking, and it was one of the things we didn't like. We smell cigarettes in the hallway. My mom wouldn't have been happy in an environment like that because she's not a smoker. It was bright. They didn't seem to offer as much to the residents. They did give us a piece of cake as a gesture, which was nice, and water and some cookies from the dining room. The dining room was clean, and had some selection, but the food variety wasn't as big as the other place, which is why we chose not to go there. The staff was very nice, and the lady was informative. They wanted to be competitive. They tried. They called me and wanted to make a comparison rate. I just didn't care for the environment. They also have the ability for independent living to switch over to assisted living. So the levels of care could have changed over time. That's a nice feature for someone. Independent living was in a very large building and my mom would have been on a seventh floor or something. She wouldn't have been able to get around if the elevator shut down, she wouldn't be able to get down to the first floor.

We looked at Brookdale Mt. Lebanon was very recently renovated. It's very pretty. That was the one we saw first. My mom thought it was beautiful. She loved it. It's just she went to the other community because in each apartment, they have a push button and they want every resident to push it by 10 a.m. each morning. It's just making sure everyone's healthy, to check in on everyone. My mom doesn't want to do that, she has her own schedule. There are days that she's a night owl and there are days she doesn't get up until 11 a.m. so she doesn't want to push the button. It's hysterical because they are a beautiful facility, they have everything else that the residents at the other place have. They had a special and were less expensive.

I liked everything about Brookdale Mt. Lebanon. We walked in, it's clean, it's attractive, and the people were pleasant. We went to two different apartments and they are extremely large and have big windows. It was just a nice facility. The staff who gave us the tour was excellent. The facilities were nice, they have a gym, if you need therapy it's on their floor. There's easy access to laundry, the library, the restaurant was nice as you walked down the halls. They weren't dark because every so often there was a balcony with two big doors that brought in a lot of light. We went up to the fifth floor, it was very, very nice.

I liked Brookdale Mt. Lebanon a lot. The only thing I didn't like about it was where it's located. It was kind of a congested area, very city-like, and it was on a main drag. Although it was up and around and kind of tucked around the back, so you weren't directly on the main drag. In order to go anywhere, you have to come down to the main drag, and it was very congested. That was about the only thing, and the price. It seemed that it was kind of high. Brookdale was very nice. I liked it. It had a one-bedroom. What I liked most about it was that it had a full sized kitchen. They offered me food to take home, and it was delicious. They had a pool, which I was really interested in because I like to swim. The other thing I liked is they have a storage area downstairs in the basement (a 5X5 storage area).
