My wife moved into Bay Square at Yarmouth. We liked the appearance of the place. We liked the proximity to my home because I go visit her every day, where I'm actually on my way right now, and we knew people who had relatives in Bay Square who recommended it. When we talked to the people, the coverage, and so forth, we felt that it was likely to be a very good fit for her. Their staff is very pleasant, very attentive, and very helpful. That's the main thing, that they're very competent, helpful, and friendly, and it's pleasant to be in that place. The food is excellent. My wife goes down to exercise most days. It costs a great deal. Very expensive, but it's very good value.

We toured Bay Square at Yarmouth. The tour was excellent. The people were very friendly. The people that we met that lived there like that very much. We liked the woman who gave us the tour very much. It's a lovely facility and smaller, which appealed to my friend. They have memory care, but it's only private pay. Otherwise, I think that would have been our first choice. They have a library, recreation room, beauty parlor, barber shop, a separate family dining room (like if you have your family visit, which right now they can't do). It is close to a river that has a nice park next to it, so it'd be a good place for walking. They could modify the dining. I think my friend could have gotten gluten free there. The dining room is homey and comfortable.

I checked out the memory care area at Bay Square at Yarmouth, and I thought it desperately needed to be updated. It was like something out of the 1970s. The colors were just so old and outdated, but I know it's not a very old facility because I remember when it was built in the 90s. So, I would not recommend that, and the room that they would have provided my husband was so small that you could just get a twin size bed in, a chair, and maybe a very small bureau. It was just awful. They had a kitchenette in the room, which he didn't need at all because he shouldn't cook on his own, so there was no need for that, but the bathroom was OK. The staff was pleasant as we passed, and they said hello, but there was no more interaction than that with the staff except for the person who was showing me around, who was also very pleasant. They have an activity room and that's all I know they have.

I have always found the Baysquare staff to be very courteous, professional and attentive. As much as is possible, they make Baysquare feel like a home for its residents. Plenty of activities and social events on the schedule, food is excellent and the day-to-day care is always attentive and personal. Special kudos to the nursing staff. They are excellent and attuned to each resident in a very personal way. I appreciate the care they provide my mother, who has been a Baysquare resident in their Memory Care since March.

My father is safe and overall I'm OK with Bay Square at Yarmouth. His room looks like a regular room. There's a bathroom and the living area. The staff is friendly, but the services aren't what I expected. The dining area is set up restaurant style. There are tables and chairs in there. They go on rides, and they do games. He gets three meals a day. Overall, it's OK, but it's not what I expected for the price that you pay. They seem to enjoy what they're eating and they get their biggest meal during the day. I would give the maintenance a one. I'm still working on a refrigerator, which needs to be lifted, and I still haven't gotten that done.

My mother-in-law just moved into Bay Square, and we're pleased. The staff is very good, we're pleased with them so far. The room she's in is small, but very nice and clean. They're very good about trying to get her into the activities. The grounds are very attractive.

Bay Square was excellent. They were a newer establishment, so they're very clean. The staff were friendly and excellently trained in memory care. They showed me things that they do, how they have folders on each patient and they put their heads together to help anybody that's having a problem. There's enough help around to cater to each individual. They have individual care givers to watch those people who tend to wander like my mom. They have things for the residents to do and there's a big yard so people can go outside. The rooms for the memory care unit were also nice and clean, small but efficient, and they have bathtubs. It was an easy size for the memory care people.

My visit at Bay Square at Yarmouth was very good. The place and people were very nice. I saw that it was a comfortable place to live. They had a one-room efficiency as well as a companion room. I had a meal there, and the food was good. The dining room and facilities were very nice. They take care of their residents, and if someone does not show up for a meal, they go check. You don’t to eat the meals if you don’t want to, but they serve three meals a day in a restaurant setting.
