Whispering Oak Place

The rooms at Whispering Oak Place were big. They had a laundry that was right in the room so residents were supposed to be washing right in the room and they wouldn't get lost in other places. It was open. The hallways were large. It was a fairly newer facility so it was clean and they had a large eating area. If you had to switch to memory care, it would be the same staff, which was nice. They had an activities area that had a puzzle out there, a computer available, and a television. The facility looked well laid out. There weren't a lot of hallways that meandered different places. It was one street shot through, so if you had some memory issues, you would be able to find your room very easily. The lady that gave the tour was good. She knew what was going on. It was the director and she answered all my questions and explained things really well.

I toured Whispering Oak Place and they're very, very clean and comfortable. The people there were very polite. I didn't notice as much staff there as I did in another place I toured. They're more laid back over there because they are in a rural community, so, they have fewer facilities. I just met the coordinator or the manager of the facility herself. She's the only person I got in contact with, and I don't know too much about the other people. I wasn't too impressed with it because it was two people in a room, and I don't know if my father would like that. The big advantage of it is that he likes the countryside and likes to see them. They would take their clients out for road trips, and drive the fields, so they could see the farmers out there. I know my dad would like that. They have people coming in to help them with exercising and training and stuff like that. I think it's a lot smaller too than the other community I saw. The person I talked to was very pleasant and good to talk to.
