Webster at Rye

One star rating is not for the care the staff provides to residents; it is entirely in how the Webster at Rye runs their business. Positive first: Dropping in at any time of the day, the staff has been great, despite having a difficult job. I hope that that is the case in most nursing homes, but I doubt it is. They have a tough job, and mostly they handle it with patience and caring. The apartment that my parent's first rented was a bit dark and dreary, but when we moved them to a nicer spot, those rooms were much better. However, you will pay a premium price to have anyone cared for at the Webster at Rye, and count on whatever fees you pay to be abruptly and haphazardly raised without reasonable justification. We all get inflation, but expect to pay full cost on a room where the resident passes away, despite the fact that the Webster is no longer caring for the individual. A little grace period? Forget it. And they can change the level of care that they assign to a resident without discussion, when in actuality, nothing has changed for the resident. What do you get if you have to pay more because the Webster has decided that a resident is a level 3 instead of a level 1? Nothing...they just get more money. Completely and unequivocally do NOT recommend the Webster at Rye, not because of the care they provide, but because they are just out to make as much money as they can from the people who live there. If you have an unlimited budget, the staff are worth it, but expect to pay through the nose....and then have it rise even more at their whim.

My mother moved into Webster at Rye. The professionalism and the caliber of the employees and nursing staff were amazing. She's getting really good care. She's having some difficulties, and she never really likes anything. But she said that she likes it, due to the facility, and the people there are nice. The facility was excellent. They have all kinds of classes. They have live entertainment every night or every afternoon at about five. They have animals, and they bring animals there. They do some outings. It seems like they have plenty of activities. I have eaten there. I had lunch one time, and that was good. Her level of care is kind of expensive. It just seems like everything is in place there. I don't know a lot of the amenities, but I know they have a library.

I went to Webster at Rye to visit my friend's parents, and the people there seemed very caring. The newer section was very, very nice. The older section was a little rundown, and kind of darkish for me, but I know that they provide a high quality kind of care there. The staff was very responsive, although right now they're not, but at the time I was there, they were. I was able to attend some of the activities of my friend's parents, and they were very attentive to the needs of their residents. If you have mobility issues and you're at the second floor, it might create some issues. They have an elevator, but if there is a need to move the residents without the elevator, that's gonna be a problem.
